No the books are fine. The editors did a number on the last two (They started out as one epic tome, but was divided in a weird way. See: non-chronologically.) but that didn't really bother me because I didn't have to wait 2 years to have my curiosities satisfied.

I mean now I will, but at-least I'm just waiting for one book. The show makes me mad because they just casually change what had been a consensual sex encounter into a rape encounter like... "Eh, same thing."

--and about a dozen other reasons. People think I'm reading about raunchy sexual encounters in rich detail because in the movies they will just casually show people humping on screen, and that doesn't usually bother me, except in the books, if two characters are about to do the nasty, 9 times out of 10, unless something important happens while they're mid- coitus, the scene just changes.

In the show it seems like "Oh, look how dirty we can be. You love this s**t. Welcome to HBO's game of thrones, you dirty birdies. We're scandalous."

And I'm like... "Oh my god, shut up and get to the Dwarf killing the dude."

Man, I can never find anything set before 1900 to be very interesting, even if it's made to appeal to modern audiences. It's just always been that way for me. I haven't tried watching GoT, though.

If it's about people, I mean.

And even 1900 still seems too early to be interesting.

With western/cowboy s**t I might be able to make an exception.

Did Fish get you to read The Dark Tower?

Or did he try to protect you from it?

Well I guess he recommended it but I just never feel like reading because reading boring s**t is what I do for a living.

Come to think of it, the last time I read a novel in my spare time was last summer, as an audiobook. I'd listen to it in bed when I couldn't sleep at night, which was always since I never had to get up early.

That might be a good thing to do this summer, with The Dark Tower #1, if I can get a free mp3 of the audiobook.

What is up with people and audiobooks? I feel like if I'm hearing someone else read a book then it's a filter through which I perceive the story and I'm being robbed of some of the experience.

I say that, and I am not a fast reader. I am a slow reader.

I like not having to depend upon light, not having to sit up and not having to open my eyes. I can even listen to audiobooks while in a vehicle without getting motionsickness, or while I'm walking somewhere.

Though it does drive me slightly nuts when it's a British narrator. =w=;; I don't mean to be anglophobic, it just resonates with me more if it's in my accent, I guess?

Fair enough. I don't like to multitask while enjoying a story, so I wouldn't have those issues. Though I have experienced frustration with trying to lounge and enjoy books. it's like... "I need some kind of lighted suspension mechanism to hold this for me and turn the pages while I lay sideways."

I'll invent it and be a bajillionaire, right after I finish my time machine to go back to when it was relevant.

I don't even like street fighter that much, but I like this shirt.

I also have to visit a city that's 5 hours away once a month, and there's nothing really I can do aside from listen to music or sleep, but music can get boring if that's all you do for so many hours.

Yeah, that shirt is cool.

I read somewhere that gingers aren't supposed to wear yellow (or white) because it makes them look "washed out", but ******** that. Cartoon gingers do it all the time.

Can't wear orange, though. Blech.
