It's made up of cut up sections of paper that I painted in various ways. It's harder to tell at this size, I think.

I went back and accented certain seams with an india ink pen and splorched some watercolor onto the hair and beard to add texture.

Whaat, that's pretty neat. Painting is so hard.

I would really like to be good at it, but it's just so messy and you can't really undo your mistakes. Plus all the colors get all mixed up and turn brown and then the texture is uneven and bleh

It's not really a painting, so much as a collage... of painted paper.

If you don't want the colors to mix, you kinda just need patience. There's a lot of techniques to make efficient use of your time. I don't know many of them, because I'm not really a painter myself, but ultimately you just have to be patient for the best results.

Also, a lot of people just don't know color theory? Like, this always confuses me. How do people get to be adults without knowing how colors work? A lot of people, even, probably most!

Acrylic is pretty forgiving. It's a fast drying paint (Too fast sometimes. I had a bit of water.) and it mixes easily. but even with that, once you get it on the paper, you just need to wait. It's easier to cover up mistakes in accrylic, though. I hear it is, anyway. I've only ever really worked with dry medias, watercolor and acrylic. The first two require a lot of forethought, I think oil does too, but probably to a lesser degree. Not so much with acrylic.

Okay, if I ever paint again it'll be with acrylic. razz

Sometimes the colors you get with acrylic never seem as nice. It might be that I am, myself, kinda poopish when it comes to color mixing. or I might just be using poor quality materials to start out with(Slightly orange reds wouldn't make as nice of a purple, for example)

Hey I just noticed that when Pac-Man does his Final Smash he eats two pellets, a power pellet and a super pellet. Now him turning big and still being able to munch people makes sense to me now.
