I swear, I just can't win with white mages in ffxiv. I play a healer class known as astrologian, I wield a star globe and a deck of cards and I can heal like nobody's business. I get the pleasure of being able to play buffing cards on people and get to choose my stance; diurnal sect for regen or nocturnal sect for shielding. The other two healing classes don't get to choose, scholars shield, white mages regen. When I'm with a scholar, I know where I stand; they CAN'T regen, so diurnal is the only way to go. Even with another ast I know where I stand; our buffs can't stack, so one of us goes diurnal and the other nocturnal. But white mages, dear lord, I very seldom meet a decent white mage, they always tend to have a holier-than-thou attitude. My class was obviously intended to go noct when paired with a whm, but if I do that, they b***h at me because 'we need the extra regen,' but then when I use past experiences like that and go diurnal, they b***h at me because they already regen; I lose either way, it's so frustrating. Especially when I'm trying to learn content released not even a week ago and everyone abandons me without even telling me what I did wrong, just an unstated but obviously intended 'we hate you, you suck, hope this thing kills you.' (Plus an explicitly stated 'Screw this, this is easy' from someone before they abandoned; okay, sure, if you already know it, not so much if you're in the process of learning, ugh. At least the DPS from my server I got in with thought I was doing a good job.) Possibly the worst part is that the three stages leading up to it were far easier than I expected, then they took the difficulty and amped it up to nine thousand for the last... Likely I will finish this stupid thing then never look at it again because elitists are jerks, and it's exactly the sort of content that draws elitists like light draws moths.
ANGRY GAMER RANT END. tl;dr version: elitists in new content you're trying to learn are total jerks and I don't like them.
I don't really like many people who play games online for that, I like it when if I just get a game, they sit down and lead me through the conplicated bita while letting me figure it out.

Right? I shouldn't be forced to apologize to people for being new and trying to learn, because they had to do it at one point, too! I run into so many people who use the harder content to power trip and try to lord their perceived better status over everyone else, though, it's absolutely infuriating. My second group wasn't quite so bad, I had a few nicer people that were willing to give me and another newbie tips after we failed (and after half our party left because they wanted to be carried, not be competent), which was really nice. The weekly reset on the rewards will happen today, I'm hoping I can get in faster at the beginning of the weekly cycle as compared to what my wait to get in was on Sunday, because at least then I won't be out so much time if I end up abandoned again.

Imagine if Halloween was every day except October 31. Like every night, children come to your door dressed in costume and you have to give out candy each night to them. Your house is decorated year-round in skeletons and spiders and giant blowups of ghosts and vampires. Fake graves cover your entire yard. But then, on October 31, everyone all around undecorates their houses for just the one day. Everything looks normal and plain, and no kids come to your door that night. All of your decorations are put in the basement or storage so quickly, it's like Halloween never existed.

That's good, get good and help other new people.
I love doing that. Though it can get complicated, some people aren't actually new, and some take serious offense at someone explaining and trying to be helpful, plus there are tanks that are kinda brats that rush headlong without even giving a chance to explain. I finally got through that content, though! Group composition makes a huge difference, because it would seem it hadn't been all my fault to begin with, we managed it first try with the last group I was matched with. (This fact was reaffirmed when I ran the stage that comes before that one again for my weekly loot, which I had cleared my first time without a wipe, but this time wiped several times before managing to complete; good DPS make a huge difference, and all of the ones I had were the sort that make my life as a healer harder than it has to be then push all the blame on the healers when they're a good part of the blame as well, but us healers just have to put up and shut up because it's not worth arguing with stupid, I think one guy was even trying to threaten/scare us by saying he was streaming it, I didn't believe him. I was so mad by the time I finally won something out of that stage that I was shaking and dizzy, I'm not sure I'm ever going to run it again.)

I don't want kids at my door every night. D: (Although, since I live in an apartment currently, they don't come to my door, anyway.) And I can't decorate. :c My cats would destroy/eat anything I tried to put up... So I suppose things really wouldn't be much different for me, actually. >>;

Halloween, Halloween, Trick or treat, Trick or treat It's for free It's for free Tickle me Tickle me
Too many people in the Chatterbox forum disgust me. Like, I know most of the people on this website are adults, but there are still people who are age 13 on here. They're not common, but they're still here. As are plenty of people age 14-17, and they really don't need to go into that forum and see all the disgusting things that people post in there. This is meant to be a website for people starting at age 13, and honestly that's like a 21+ forum at this point. It's hard to have conversations with people there because there are very few posts in the CB that are appropriate for people under 21.

CB is basically Gaia's in-house 4chan. It's internet hell, and has been so for... a very long time, I'm pretty sure it was still hell back before I had the guild to call home. Honestly, if you want actual conversation, as awkward as it sounds, I'd have to suggest probably the LK forums, maybe switch to a paws base and hit up the paws forum (assuming it hasn't degraded in quality since I last frequented it). If you have access to the Heaven sub, it might be a decent option. GCD is okay, too, but they don't really... converse, at least not in my experience. I hang out in there and post sometimes, but hardly anyone has ever actually spoken to me. (Which is good for me, really, because I'm terrible at socializing, but generally defeats the purpose most people have in visiting the main forums.) Other than that, I've little experience with most of the subs, so maybe you could find a different place that's decent, I just have no experience and, as such, no opinion of them. ^^;
