What roleplay is that, Captain?
It would be Waya's guild. Spirits and Demons. I liked the idea of them being in their own element- not on earth. The idea grabbed me enough to make a char, and that was that. I am second in command of the demon half, and head of the 'peacekeeping' force there. As the one in charge of the demon half is almost always gone, I have stepped up and made several plotlines. Subplots have been made involving my history, and secrets pile on secrets . . . but Waya has had a lot of trouble balancing her new job and RP, and the guild has dismal activity so it feels fairly dead despite the work I have been putting into it.

oh....now that i see what you meant.....hm....it sounds good. i mean, i like the idea. i don't quite understand all the possibilities your power would bring, though.
Well, I thought about it and came up with the idea of not only reading books, but learning all the intimate details of an object. It is immeasurably harder to learn about a living organism- requiring sustained contact. A simpler object like a wall, would take less time to learn more.
Take a car- touching it begins the process, and after a few minutes, Sage would know how many layers of paint are on it, how much gas is in the tank, how bad the engine wear is, where the weak points are, even how many juice stains are on the back seat from careless passengers.
Now imagine that being done in a R&D lab. The costs saved in testing would amount to millions. Imagine that in a hospital. Takes longer, but like House, Sage would be able to know what is wrong within an hour without costly tests. Imagine that in a military situation. Knowing where to hit an opponent's vehicle . . . .
Like Cyclops from the fabled X-Men, his body would not have any major boons, just that ability. Instead of blasts of energy, this guy specializes in information. After all, knowledge is power.
