Blind Blindness I'M GLAD YOU WANT TO BE MY FRIEND ON IT!! Wow, I didn't know you had the Wii U?! That's awesome. I'm so happy. biggrin My name is either Daniel1992 or Daniel19922? Or maybe neither lol. I'll check when I get back on it. Let me know your name and I'll add you! I only got Mario Kart 8 with it. And then I got Super Mario Bros and Pokken. Currently seeking to expand my game collection (perhaps around Christmas time.) What games do you have?! I have almost every Nintendo console to have ever released in the States. >>; [/fangirl] My beau bought it for us a loooong time ago, around when they first released, we have one of the Zelda editions that came preloaded with Wind Waker, I don't think they're still sold... Mostly we have single player RPG stuff; two different Zeldas, a Fire Emblem Persona crossover game (Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, if I remember the title correctly), Bayonetta, and probably some other RPG stuff I'm forgetting. We also have Hyrule Warriors, Monster Hunter, and Splatoon. Splatoon is really silly and fun, so if you get the chance to give it a try, it's worth it. Has online multiplayer, but I never fiddled with it much, my beau did that more than me. Looking at the list of software from my gamepad, it looks like we have Mario Kart 8, as well, but I've never played it, never liked racing games. >>; By the way, since you also own a Wii if I remember right, you can play your old Wii games on the Wii U, you just have to hook up your motion sensor bar to it and use a Wiimote with it. (If you ever intend to play anything single console multiplayer, you'll need the Wiimote, anyway.) We still buy old Wii games to play on the Wii U. >>; *found and bought Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers relatively cheap some time ago* My beau had Super Mario 3D World for a while, but I despised the game, and he played through it once then was done with, turned it in for money towards a preorder, I think. p.s. my name on the Wii U is probably exactly what you'd expect it to be, QueenSpazzy

I learned something new. You have so many games, too. That's awesome. When we find a mutual game we want to play, we'll totally do that. Oh yes, I'm probably getting Wind Waker for Christmas. And yeah, I can play my own Wii games on the Wii U...but it's like, I don't know, I'll have to go through it again, but last time it didn't work and just kept saying it couldn't read any disc or something. And before that, the input for the Wii didn't display the game (screen black) despite the fact that the Wii was clearly on. Same thing for my Ps2. So all that still needs investigation. Haha, you don't leave anything to chance, do you? I'll add you. wink

I think a lot of people are of the opinion that it's the best of all Zelda games, but I just can't get into it, I didn't like the mechanics, wasn't all that into the characters, wasn't even really a fan of the art style, either. You might try switching to the Wii menu and starting it there instead of the Wii U menu. (And while this sounds super stupid, make sure you're putting the disc in the right way and make sure the disc isn't damaged.) That sounds either like a television issue or a wiring issue. Again, this sounds stupid, but make sure you're plugging your input wires into the right ports or, assuming you're not using an old analog telly, try switching to an HDMI cable (or a different HDMI cable you know to work if you're already using one), and make sure your television is on the right channel (flip through your media input channels if you're not sure which one is right). I'm not sure you'll be able to switch your PS2 to an HDMI cable (might depend on its age, I have one of the old original ones and only use the old red, white, yellow sound and video cable with it), so make double sure your video cable (the yellow one) is in the right spot.

Yeah, I figured as much. Gaming is one of the vices xD I have Twilight Princess on Wii. I loved the graphics. I don't know how Wind Waker would be. It does seem to be different artwork, but we'll see. Yeah I checked the disc and everything was put in the right way and I switched through the inputs. Only works with the WiiU, but the good thing about the WiiU is I can still play with the gamepad. I don't have to even deal with the television if I don't want to as long as everything remains hooked up and charged. I know I checked the cables at one time. I'll check again. My Ps2 is from 2001 or 2002 I think. I want the Ps4, though. I'll have to....do something about that price tag, saving or whatever xD...in the meantime, if I feel like it, I'll definitely take another look and take into consideration the HDMI and yellow cable because it would be nice to play those wii games and Ps2 games.

The style of Wind Waker is WAY different. A lot more cartoon-y. Which worked with the story and for that transition period from the N64 to the GameCube, but I just... don't like it. So, you're saying your Wii U's graphics don't display on the television, either? Definitely sounds like a TV issue to me, then. (In which case, switch your system over to a different TV to find out if it works there.) Also, not all Wii U games are created equal as far as displaying on the gamepad goes, a great number of them require that you have the television as the main display (Monster Hunter, Splatoon, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE are titles in our library that require use of the television). And some titles that will display on the gamepad may be better played on the television, if only to see the clever use they make of the gamepad (Wind Waker, for as little love as I have for it, turns the gamepad into your inventory and game menu if you display the game on the television). Well, just to make sure you're fully informed, PS4 plays ONLY PS4 games. Sony hasn't really done backwards compatibility since the PS2 (certain releases of the PS3 played PS2 games, but that didn't really remain a 'thing' for later releases of the console). And while you might like to think "Well, I can just buy digital versions of PS3 games on the PSN", your hopes will quickly be dashed; the only way to get those games is through 'renting' them, and only certain titles were even made compatible with that (all in all, it's just about the dumbest ******** thing I've ever heard, especially for people like me that end up with ungodly amounts of playtime or for anyone that likes to revisit games and play them again).

Lol yeah, that's what I meant. I just didn't want to say it outright and offend anyone. Personally, I've only played Twilight Princess, and the graphics were amazing. So when I saw that Wind Waker had a cartoony feel, I was surprised. I'm still up for the gameplay on WindWaker, but I wish my mom actually asked me what games I'd like before she bought them. She shops for Christmas early. It's partially my fault since I don't create a Christmas list, but whether it's for my birthday, christmas, etc. she rarely asks me what I want. I've told her multiple times to please consult me before you buy things. She loves surprises. I don't like surprises. I've told her I'd much rather know what I'm going to get and like it, since it will end up being the same cost anyway (it's not like she's saving us money), but nope, she doesn't listen. Sorry to confuse, lol actually my Wii U works fine. Thank you for telling me that, though, because I didn't know that the television was needed for certain Wii U games, and now I do. I only have three games so far, so that's why I don't know. I'll keep that in mind for the future. Actually, when I was doing investigating (I have a picture I need to send you), one of the cables was screwed up at the end. Not sure that explains my ps2, but could explain the Wii. I have a mess of cables going behind that television, annoying but makes me not want to deal with it as my hand can barely fit through it. Television was placed way too close back then. Big a** tele xD Also, thank you! I forgot that about the Ps4. That is extremely dumb, I agree. I suppose certain games will have to wait in the wings if I can't get the Ps2 to work. You feel like you wasted those games you bought lol Also, what say you about buying these Ps4 games (and games for other consoles potentially) for my Microsoft Windows PC? >>

Yeah, unlike the new one coming out, which has the whole system contained in its pad, the Wii U still requires the television. You should consider straightening out the wires, it makes it tons easier when you need to troubleshoot if you have a damaged wire or not when they're more easily accessible. It's also a bit of a hazard to cluster them all up too much. (I was the one to decide how to arrange our technology, I'm very particular and DESPISE messy wires.) Well, unless you have a gaming build, it's likely a no go, to be honest. You have to have at least middling CPU and GPU to run most of those titles adequately on a PC, especially newer titles, most consumer builds literally don't have the power behind them to run most of that stuff well. I've already mentioned it, but find out what CPU and graphics card you have, and work from there. Probably the easiest way to check your system compatibility against games you'd like to play is to compare your hardware with the minimum requirements listed in the Steam store (around the bottom of a game's store page, usually); below minimum is a no go, at minimum is playable but probably not pretty (and possibly slow), recommended or better will yield a better experience. (I practically write books talking to you about tech and games, I'm such a junkie.)

So ah, do we have an active roleplaying forum on here? I took a glance at the first one that I noticed (Crazy Character Convos) and ah... It definitely could use some more activity. sweatdrop I came here partly as a refugee, another guild I'm a part of has slowed almost to a stop in terms of roleplaying. To say I'm distressed by that is putting it laughably lightly.

Still, it's worth a start for a few. Although I can't imagine it will be too active in too short a period of time. I apologize. I know it's frustrating, and roleplaying used to be a central tenet of our guild. Over the years, though, we lost a lot of people. emotion_kirakira

I know it's frustrating, and roleplaying used to be a central tenet of our guild. Over the years, though, we lost a lot of people. emotion_kirakira Yeah, I know what you mean. I have my own roleplaying guild, and it currently has a grand total of 1 regular posting member, (other than my two accounts) which mean we have a grand total of 1 active roleplay. I had it up to three, once, but those guys seem to have ditched me entirely. I'm kinda at a loss as to what to do, since in an rp guild, you cant get people if you don't have active rps, but you don't have active rps if you can't get people. sad It's a chicken or the egg argument, and I don't have a clear answer. What I would suggest doing is contacting the makers of all the rps in the forum, and telling them that if they don't make the threads active again, they'll be deleted to make room for fresh rps. I have a cemetary for my dead threads, but my guild is 100% rp based, so it works out better. From what I've seen, about 90% of the threads in this guild, across all the subforums, would wind up there if we did that here. But when people go to the rp forum, and see that not a single thread has been posted in in like, months, it sends a message that there are no active rpers in the guild anymore, and discourages them from making new ones. At least, that's how it was with me when I went there. Plus, I have a whole rp guild of my own, as well as 5-6 forum rps, that constantly need my attention to stay even remotely alive. If i don't post in each of them once a day, every day, they drop like a rock. I sometimes feel like a necromancer, trying to bring dead rps back from the grave. I haven't really succeeded yet, but I keep plugging away at it, nonetheless.

Priestess_Kelina Blind Blindness Lord Sithious So ah, do we have an active roleplaying forum on here? I took a glance at the first one that I noticed (Crazy Character Convos) and ah... It definitely could use some more activity. sweatdrop I came here partly as a refugee, another guild I'm a part of has slowed almost to a stop in terms of roleplaying. To say I'm distressed by that is putting it laughably lightly. Awww, I'm sorry. Unfortunately, we do not. I've been recruiting people in hopes that a few of our new members will start new roleplays and others will join in. I could contact people (and probably will) at some point (old roleplayers who had created threads in that forum), but there are so many roleplays that it would take us a lot of time to do that. Still, it's worth a start for a few. Although I can't imagine it will be too active in too short a period of time. I apologize. I know it's frustrating, and roleplaying used to be a central tenet of our guild. Over the years, though, we lost a lot of people. emotion_kirakira Yeah, I know what you mean. Thanks. Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to create a recycle bin for all the roleplaying threads when they haven't been posted in for a set period of time, say a year. That makes things look more cleanly at least, I do feel. Sorry about your roleplaying guild's lack of activity.
