((xD I thought I was lost again.

I couldn't do this alone! Somebody else has to drive the story, I can't just sit here and RP by myself... that would be boring.))

Aleta observed Duri get up, she wondered how he was feeling. ...He just lost June... at least he remains resiliant. She nodded, "Yeah... lets go."

((Inside what? >_> The cave? I'm being stupid today... I want to make sure I know what you're talking about.))

(( Well I did give you the other mercs, U: either that or you could post one really long post describing the battle's events before I rejoin.
THE GATE THE GIANT DOOR THAT WE'VE BEEN REFERRING TO FOR THE PAST FEW PAGES. =_= It's kinda annoying when you're spacy...
Anyway, as I was saying. They took a detour into the demonic realm from the cave, to the inner pathways of the gate, so we're backtracking and what not.))

Duriono stumbled over, Mary rushed to his side. Helping him back to his feet.
"You alright?" She asked, slinging his arm over her shoulder. Duriono didn't respond much, mumbling under his breath.
"Hurry up..." was the only thing audible that he said.

((Yeah... my mom used to call me a space cadet all the time. I was just making sure...*is listening to System of a Down* Hm... I think I may add Revenga for Aleta.))

Aleta walked through the door way as Rafeal took her hand, and squeezed it tightly. They sensed danger again, adreneline flooded thier bodies once more as they walked forward. Aleta turned back to see her ally stumbleing. "Are you sure you're okay?"

He stood upright once again. Taking his arm from Mary.
"I'll just stick to support.." He said, his eyes barely opened. He tilted his hat down over his head as he continued onwards.

Aleta shook her head, "If you feel like you can't go on, you don't have to... but then again, this is a dangerous place. Its your choice." She pitied him, and thought of... what if. What if Rafeal were to die today? What if she died? Would they just continue living without eachother? That felt impossible...

There was a sudden chill, Aleta's skin prickled. There was an opening ahead...

He stumbled forward, nearly falling over.
The demon's soul seemed to have disappeared from existance. Died with June.. He wasn't sure what he'd do now.. he just wanted to get this over with.

The group was close enough to see where the draft was coming from. There was a gate up ahead, and Aleta was sure she could see a gapeing pit in the torchlight. "There it is... Duri, is there another gatekeeper up ahead, should there be?"

((Hey look, you're useful again! biggrin This is why I wanted Duriono to stick around. You know more about Gatekeepers than I do. xD ))
PostPosted: Wed Oct 20, 2010 4:57 pm

He gave a dull look to the other gatekeeper. There were several openings from the demonic plain to the world of humans as demons called it. Many of these let out in a different region, being far, far apart from eachother. So yeah, there's a gatekeeper for each one.
He staggered up to the man, demonic symbols appeared on his skin.
"Yo, wassap bro?" He greeted.

((I was kinda hoping you would make another character 'cause I feel lazy... oh well.))

"Huh? What?" The demon was aleep. He looked like an ordinary human, but had the same 'Hi, I'm a gatekeeper demon!' vibe and appearance as Duriono, his clothes were different and his skin was paler. "Oh... yeah, I'm supposed to let you guys through. I know you from somewhere." He pointed at Duri, "Yeah, Duriono. Some crazy guy is waiting for you all... said something about a battle to the death, and killing some poor girl..." The demon eyed Aleta, "I think you're the one." He was wierdly non-chalant, and lazy-sounding. As a gatekeeper to a very little-visited hell mouth, he was bored, and he sounded bored right now.

"Go right on through I guess." He flipped a lever, and the gates creaked open omniously. "Thanks..." Aleta looked into the cavern, but didn't see anybody.

"Don't mention it." He put his hands behind his head and leaned against a wall and fell asleep again.

((I feel to goofy to do this right now... everything is funny at 8 PM! It gets even funnier at around 3 AM! biggrin ))

They stepped through the gate as it closed behind them. "..." An uneasy feeling came over both of the elves, that someone else was here indeed, invisable.

Black smoke and shadows writhed at thier feet, concealing the pit that was the portal to Hell. Aleta could feel the pain and suffering eminateing from it, the pain and suffering of the evil souls in the grip of thier eternal punishment. It gave her a strange sort of satisfaction, to know justice was being administered.

A shift occurred in the room, the shadows began to curl and cluster together at the edge of the pit, and took the form of a man.

No.... not a man. Not even close.

"I've been waiting Aleta." A voice said. It was as if many voices were layered on top of one another, and in the background noise of the many voices working as one, there was only a single vocal pattern she recognised, Zethriel's.

The figure solidified, enclosed in a cloak as black as the darkest reaches of space, darker than shadows, than night, as if light has never touched this person.

((I'll be extending this post later. I'll break it down in 2 or 3 posts so other characters can react. I can't belive this is almost over... we have come so far, and it took us a year to finish!))

The mercenaries surrounded Duriono in a tight circle, keeping their eyes out, weapons loaded and preventing Duriono from suffering any more damage.
"C'mon out so we can kick your a** across the universe!" Anna shouted, Snipe raising an eyebrow at her sudden excitement.

"Ah... you brought friends!" A dark, clawed hand exposed itself from the shadow of its sleeve, and pulled back the hood, revealing a face that was vaugely familiar.

Rafeal gasped, "Zethriel! What have you done to yourself?" Aleta was shocked as well, He's different... why? Is he stronger?

His eyes were blank, dully white as if they were rolled back into his head. Fangs protruded from his mouth, his skin looked leathery, and folded up wrinkled and ugly when he grinned coldly, mildly entertained. "I am not Zethriel, this is merely his body and oppressed soul. I am Ketress, the demonic Master of Puppets if you will. There are others." He sneered, using Zethriel's face. "I have possessed your brother for quite sometime. Some of the voices he hears belong to my kinsmen, some of them are the result of the insanity he has been driven to! Zethriel says this is all worth it to him, and we have much to gain from out partnership!"

Aleta looked at him contemptously, "So it was you who told him to do all of these things!? To kill the innocent, my family? To persue destructive powers? Its your fault!"

Ketress/Zethriel laughed, "Not at first. He has always been violent, its what drew me to him." The demon chuckled, "I tricked him, weakened his mind. And here we are today~."

Suddenly, his expression changed, he growled and mumbled something to himself, then Zethriel's voice came forth undistorted, "Stop standing around, and let me kill her already!" He growled, his voice cold and agitated, eager for blood.

"As you say, Zethriel. You listened to me, I listen to you now."

Aleta drew her blade, Rafeal stood by with his bow ready. "You're not going to touch her as long as I live!" Rafeal hissed, his vioce cold and low, thretening.

"We'll see about that brother! I'll kill you to!" Zethriel cackled, staying true to the nature of the madman.

Then he began to change again. A large pair of wings extended from his back with a FWHOOSH! and his claws began to grow longer, his fangs protruded as his arms and legs grew thin, yet taught with muscle. Zethriel's white hair grew long and ragged, his body grew evermore thin as he grew in size and strength. Shadows swireled around him, drawn from the pit behind him.

What was once Rafeal's brother was now a grotesque, corrupted, beast. The embodyment of evil itself.

Aleta took a step back, holding all of her terror within her. "No! I will kill YOU! I made a promise, a promise I will keep! Revenge is mine, do you hear me, sick basterd!"

In response, the creature let a shrill noise somewhere between a screech and a roar with its many-layered, distorted voice. This noise would send most people running, but Aleta stood her ground, and looked the monster in its blank, emotionless, white eyes, and ran straight toward it, blade drawn, yelling, "Whol ussta fuma, whol Ssussun, whol l'tresk'ri!" A battlecry, the only words she knew in her ancestral tounge. It meant "For my family, for Light, for the world."

((>_> am I still allowed to post or are you about to lay down that thar long post of churs?))

The mercs changed their formation, some took crouched positions, others stood tall. All facing the demon before them, Duriono found his conscious fleeting him slowly, forcing him to take to one knee.
"Take him down, play support.. abandon me if things get bad on the battle field..."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 11:04 am

((I'm still writing stuff on word, but yeah you can post. I edited the one above me. The only thing I'm going to write will be the very end of the battle. You gan help here to. Its more fun that way, I won't know exactly how this battle will go.))

The demon swung at her, trying to grasp the little annoying thing running about her feet. Rafeal was trying to distract him, fireing arrows that didn't seem to hurt him. Aleta caught sight of Duri, and said quickly, "Get up! We won't leave you, or anyone else behind!" She rolled out of the way as a claw swung at her again, she managed to nick the hand while doing so, leaving a scratch tht leaked black and red blood. Will light hurt him in this form? She wondered.

Rafeal remembered something from playing videogames when he was a kid, "Hey! This is like a final boss battle! You have to find his weak point!" Aleta nodded in response, and began to look for possible weak points.

Brig held his hand out to Duriono, pulling him up to his feet.
He soon began to stagger once more so they began to look for a reasonable place to set him down to provide support. They quickly found a pile of rubble which Hakura was huddled behind, her sleeping daughter clutched within her arms.
"Brig, we need you on the front lines!" Mary shouted, running by.
Brig nodded, dropping Duriono by Hakura and leapped out at the monster, acting as a distraction, beating at it's feet.
