Most people dislike drifters, as many populate the streets, homeless and penniless.
I think it's an awesome word, regardless of the embedded meanings institutionalized by the social world.

I think Drifter is a beautiful word! I really don't associate it with homeless people or anything of such sort. I like it because StarDrifter is the name of one of the best characters Sara Douglass has ever made, and because it's pretty sounding. I wanna drift among the stars!

I'm partial to the name Drifter too. More of a title though.
But that's because I'm a big fan of drift racing and anime/video games such as Initial D, that have a big focus on player's skill and getting a car to take a tight U-shaped curve at speeds of over 100km/h(over 60mph)

Well, yeah, the car could always flip over to it's side and crash you on your head.
But I always thought that I would die by drifting, hurling myself sideways the side of a curved mountain road, going 120mph.
