Gregory let a funny stare, "No! you aren't the reason I'm bored. I..." He paused and let a nervous laugh. He blushed and turned his view down at the table for a moment, turning back trying to smile. "I'm just n-nervous." He said admittedly, soon adding "I'm quite timid myself, but I try to hide it a lot."

Derrick giggled and propped his head up on his hand. "Oh, is that so?" He said sarcastically before pausing awhile, causing a rather awkward silence. "Umm...So, are you currently.." He though about how to ask his question for a moment. "...with anyone at the moment?" He finally managed to ask in a quiet and shy tone.

Gregory gulped silently. He blushed even more. "N-no..." He said, his knees almost buckling under the table.

Derrick gave a quick nod and looked away towards Joahns as a distraction. "What are you doing, Derrick?" He thought his himself, feeling his heart race faster. "You must be mad to ask that!"

Gregory apprehended quickly. He tried to make a generalization of the situation, "I... I feel the same way... about liking you and you liking me... That's what you were thinking and feeling right? I just assumed..." He stopped there.

"A-Actually...Yes." Derrick blushed and sat up straight, looking into Greg's eyes. "I don't know what it was...but when I saw you as I came into this cafe, I just.." He stopped and thought for moment. "I-I just felt amazed."

Gregory blushed deeply. "I-I felt the same, but I was too nervous to meet you at first..." He stopped and joined gazes with Derrick.

"I was too. In fact, we probably wouldn't have met if it weren't for our friend, Joahns, over there." Derrick sighed and rubbed his arm. "So..."

Noting the awkward conversation behind him, catching a snippets of their words, Joahns said in the same low voice, "Um...never mind. Thanks though." With that, and a slight bow again, Joahns picked up a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie and turned to watch his to new friends, smiling in satisfaction. I guess surprise flowers won't be needed after all. He thought to himself, taking a bite from the pie. Then, remembering Gregory's comment on the pies, picked up an apple pie slice and headed back to their table.

Gregory ignored the approaching footsteps to keep his view on Derrick. He smiled and just sat there.

Derrick met Greg's gaze by staring him in the eyes. He kept silent and didn't even glance over to Joahns.

Seth snuck flowers in Greg's hand thinking he may need these then he slipped away inconspiciously.

Gregory felt something enter his hand. He looked down for a second and blushed again, turning his head up he said, "I guess these are for you." Raising the flowers.

Joahns watched the starry eyed feline and raccoon for a second, his smile growing wider, then placed the apple pie on the table. Not saying a word, Joahns walked into the lounge, humming the tune to "Match Maker" from Fiddler on the Roof as he went with a spring in his step. Taking a seat at the bar, Joahns waited to give an order for a margarita, not salt.
