[Damn, I've been gone too long. xd My bad. sweatdrop ]
The woman smiled, pleased with the new girl's manner. Certainly kind enough.
"Oh, it's nothing Mayloo," she started, getting a feel for the name. It was a good one, it seemed to match her. "My name is Jane, but just about everyone around here calls me their mother." She smiled, not at all bothered by that fact.
She looked over the two of them together, and stepped aside to show the door. "Please, come inside, let's not stand around while the sun sets."
[Vence'll be in the next post, no worries. whee ]

Maylo, still smiling politely, responded with a 'thank you' before listening on. "Mo...ther?" She treated it somewhat like a foreign word since it felt foreign to use with someone she had only met. If the women was ok with the title, she'd use it, but it would take some time to get use to.
Watching the gesture of an invitation, she bowed with gratitude before stepping shyly inside with Vence's hand still within her own. He was pretty silent.
((Tis ok, all that counts is that you're here now. Hokay! ))

[Yep. razz ]
She smiled, before half-stepping inside. "If you want, you can be like Vence here and call me Mrs. Relfos,'" gesturing to him.
Vence raised his free hand in mock defense. "I'm only being polite," He said, smiling back. Glancing over to Mayloo, he shrugged. "Welcome to the family, I guess. You still need to meet Gramps though."
"Oh, I'm sure he's busy doing his work," Mrs. Relfos replied, closing the door. "You know how dedicated he can be, especially with the Hunting Festival arriving soon."
"I suppose that's true," Vence replied. "Gramps does a lot of carving and whittling as a hobby. He makes good money out of it; he does a lot of jobs around town, and around the holidays makes toys," Vence explained to Mayloo.

"U-Uh, o-ok thank you" She hadn't minded calling her mother is that was a ok and all, but the new title would allow her more adjustment comfort.
Vence sort of possessed mutual feelings but he did it in a bit of humor which broke the awkwardness. "Who?" She asked somewhat confused. There were more people to meet.
Even so, her attention upon them were temporarily disregarded when another curiousity emerged. "Hunting Fes...?" She cut herself off when Vence began mentioning what they ment but she couldn't help but connect one question with a new one. "Does he carve weapons to? For the Hunting Festival you mentioned." He sounded to be more of a good person, one that might not create something to harm, but it was still not unknown for sure.

Vence shook his head, taking a turn to the right to reveal a decent sized room, which was both a living and dining room. You could see the kitchen from across the room. All of it was simple and inelegant,(right word? x3) mostly looking like it was carved and hand made. The work of Gramps, Vence knew. He took a seat in one of the chairs around the table.
"No," Vence started," Gramps is a pacifist, he wouldn't make weapons, except his own for hunting. During the festival, he makes these really great sculptures of various animals you'd see in the Plains. If we're lucky with the harvest, he'll make hay sculptures too."

Home made furniture? Creatively skillful. She followed him and sat around the table too so she could listen to him. "So he does after all?" And it was somewhat confusing while being called a pacifist but it in a way, if he only self used his weapons he wasn't advocating any violence by relinquishing them to others.
"That sound lovely. Where do they go afterwards?" If the plains had them dotted amongst it each year their had to be somewhere they went afterwards, unless they stayed in natural and decomposed. Back to the earth they went. "Could he learn his technniques maybe?" Whether it be the wood or hay, it could possibly help out in some way, shape or form later on in their travel.

[Umm, not quite understanding what you mean here: Quote: If the plains had them dotted amongst it each year their had to be somewhere they went afterwards, unless they stayed in natural and decomposed. Back to the earth they went Help me out here] EDIT [Ok, now I get it, thanks. smile ] Vence shrugged when Mayloo asked about the figures Gramps made, allowing his fingers to play with the tables edge idly.
"Most of the time he donates them to the town, and they do whatever they want with them. You'll find a bunch of his works dotted around town, in people's lawns and stuff; decoration. The hay sculptures are usually used for fuel for fire in the winter. They're not exactly worth much, it's the wooden carvings that everyone keeps.
As for learning the trade, I already have the basics laid down. Theil knows it better than I, but Gramps is the mastermind. If you want to learn, you can ask," Vence suggested.
He wasn't quite sure whether he would like the hold up is she did decide to learn - it would take weeks to learn just the basics, and he wasn't sure whether they had that time - but it might also be beneficial. She could learn the very basics in the first few days, and he and Theil could instruct her on the way as well. If Theil decided to join, of course. Vence was confident that his friend would accept, however.

"So they are put to go use?" Keeping them as decoration or even burning them for fire seemed to answer it positively. It probably was a more rhetorical question anyways.
He had more to say, bragging about the Grandfather, Theil, and even him briefly. She could even have the option of knowing the trick of trade along side them if she wanted. "Thanks for the offer but..." Weren't they going after a crazy man right now? Her face blushed as her gaze fell alittle."I'm hoping to save the world right now..." Mayloo would hope he wouldn't take that as an insult or anything since she was only saying it in doubt.
"I don't know, maybe, I'll hold onto it as an option ok?" She smiled suddenly to him before her fingers tapped themselves over to lay upon his own hand as he messed with the table. "What is everyone else up to anyways?"

Vence smiled, nodding his understanding and approval in her answer. "Of course, take all the time you need."
As if on que, Theil walked into the room, And pulled up a chair opposite the couple. "Dinner'll be up in a bit, jus' sayin'."

Mayloo nodded in gratitude as her hand gave Vence's hand a squeeze before pulling away when Theil entered. She wasn't sure if it would be awkward or not to him. "Do you need any help setting the table or anything?" Since they had been occupying it for so long, it only seemed fair. Before Theil could answer, she had stood up and began looking around for any ways to aid.

Theil eyed Mayloo for a brief second, then broke into a rogueish(sp?) grin. "Nah, We're good. You're guests anyway; wouldn' ask even if we needed it." He leaned back in his chair, so that the front two legs were lifted from the ground. He turned to Vence. "So, wha' brings you two lovebirds here to Bankridge...And don' look at me like tha', you know I can read body language better than Mother Nature." He laughed as Vence struggled to say something back, ending in a sour look at Theil.
You know you shouldn't do that, Theil, that's private stuff," he finally managed to say. "And as for why we're here, we can discuss that later. There's a few fronts we gotta' cover."
"Yeah well...It's fun," he ended simply, and laughed again. "But, I'll consent 'cause it's you." He nodded as Vence finished answering his question. "Later it is. In the meantime..." He smiled. "I'm dying to know the juicy details. How'd you two get together hmm? Vence with a girl, I never woulda' thought." He laughed again as Vence gave him a look.
"You just never give it up do you?" He sighed, glancing at Mayloo in defeat. "Might as well tell, he'll figure it out anyway. Want me to?"

(I saw your post, I've just been uninspired to roleplay lately. x3 Thanks, Yours is pretty nice too. Something I'd expect to see riding around the streets of london~ Hehe)
"It's because I'm a guest that I insist to help..." When Theil entered, he made no hesitation to embarrass them both with a tease like statement. Vence in return, didn't show appreciation.
Was he not proud to have found someone? Or was it just the situation that made him a tad hostile about what she thought to be the truth. Mayloo (why'd I pick this name x3 ) was about to excuse herself to allow them to discuss the other manners when everything lightened up again with a silly question from Theil. She only smiled while a light blush flooded her face. Her hand just wanted to reach across the table and hold his but refrained from doing so.
"Huh? Oh uh...Sure." She couldn't tell Theil, she couldn't tell him how she was a run away looking for something new while stopping some evil baddy. He'd have her returned and Vence could be held back for safety. Mayloo should doubt everything so much though....Vence knew his relative much better and knew what could and couldn't be said.

[I know how that is. rolleyes Took me a year to get back here. lol I thought it might be a nice deviation from the normal fantasy look. 3nodding ]
Vence nodded as she agreed, and wasn't thrilled to feel his face growing warm. He wouldn't have minded to tell at his own pace, or if Mayloo wanted to, but Theil just loved to make things awkward. It only made his job easier, being so in tune with earth; he could feel the subtle changes in motion, heartbeat, and such, to the point where he could interpret emotions like anger, fear excitemment....and love. He once had described love, having been thoroughly confused upon sensing it for the first time. It's not like one emotion, it's a dozen of 'em wrapped up so tightly you can' tell which is what. And it's overwhelming, like if you try to dig into it, it'll swallow you whole. To Vence, it still made perfect sense, and the concept still thoroughly confused Theil, but he had learned to keep his distance. He could still sense it, but he wouldn't play on it like other emotions. It was too "sacred."
Might as well get it over with. He thought to himself, and he took a breath to steady himself; his heart had begun ever slightly to beat faster. How much should he say? Without embarrassing the both of them? He chose his words carefully.
"We met at the Moon Festival, before the ceremony. We got to talking, and we watched the ceremony together. Some stuff happened, and we left the city together and started travelling this way. We, uh, sorta' hooked up along the way..." He shook his hean and gave a nervous smile. "I'm gunna' kill you for this, Theil."
Yeah yeah, you wish," Theil replied, smiling. "Not a very elaborate answer - not like you at all - but I'll take it."
He turned toward Mayloo, and it only occured to him then as to what kind of person she was. She had to be significant somehow, to get Vence all worked up. She was pretty, he'd give her that much.
"So, how're you likin' this guy? Hope he's not boring you with all his intelligence."
