The Dueling Arena ~The RP~

After a few more minutes his healikng was complete and he walked over and helped shut off the valve.  

[delbosque]

"Whew. Thanks!" BillBob exclaimed, wiping his brow.

Raul had in the meantime been trying to find a way over to where BillBob was by walking on the tops of cages. It had been slow going, though, and BillBob now turned to him and let loose a bit of a tirade on his foolishness, berating him for not being bold enough to simply walk on the floor.

"But how do I know it's okay to walk in all that mess?" Raul whined.

"I'm walking in it, aren't I?" BillBob shouted back.

"But you're crazy! You were doing that before, too!"

"Yeah, well, Saito's walking in it as well! Come on, get down from there!"

Saito gave a sigh and walked past where he had destroyed the glob and looked around and continued on.

((Sorry about the delay-ness, I've been trying to figure out what should happen next, I haven't had enough time to plan much in advance...))

Raul reluctantly got down and joined BillBob in continuing on with Saito, sloshing through the bit of liquid mixture still on the floor. it looked like it was draining off, though. There was far less of it than there had been just a few minutes ago. The room was much like the one they had come from above it, only the lighting was really quite bad in comparison. There were still cages everywhere along the walls, some of which had creatures in them, but many of them were empty and looked like they hadn't ever been used.  

[Faulty Ambition]

A black-robed skeleton carrying a scythe and, for royalty, a sword, wandered through one of the walls.

SORRY. WRONG TURN.

And, with that, he wandered back out.

Saito gave a slight sigh...

Raul freaked out and hid behind Saito.

"T-t-that w-was..."

BillBob stared wide-eyed, but then seemed somewhat relieved when the skeleton wandered out. Before he actually gave a sigh of relief and started in on scolding Raul, though, he stiffened, standing up straighter and tilting his head to listen better. There was a fluttering up near the ceiling.

"Uh-oh."

Saito laughed slightly... and then he looked back at billbob and then up at the ceiling to see what he was concerned about.

BillBob punched Raul in the arm in such a way that the sound would be somewhat muffled. "Shh. Vernaiba." he whispered.
The fluttering by the ceiling sounded more like a multitude of flapping now, and there was a little bit of a clicking sound as well. Due to the fact that the room was rather dim, it was hard to distinctly make out the exact form of what was up there.
Apparently vernaiba were roughly bat-shaped, though... as could be seen when Raul got the attention of one of them.
"OW! What?" he had said a bit too loud, in response to BillBob's punch-and-whisper combination.
One of the monsters swooped down and bit him on the arm. He proceeded to noisily flail his arms about in an attempt to beat the creature away, but within moments he started shouting that he was losing the use of the arm that had been bitten. "Ahh! I can't move my arm!" he cried, despite the fact that it wasn't completely paralyzed yet and he continued to flop it about a little, while still flailing his other arm at the vernaiba that had bit him.
Meanwhile, BillBob took off running towards the end of the room, back the way they had come.

Saito gave a heavy sigh.... he then pulled out a couple of small knives and threw them up towards the fluttering little beasts.

One of the knives skewered one of the vernaiba.
The other knife missed and hit the ceiling and was falling back to the ground when two other vernaiba went after it. They happened to run into each other, so neither got to the knife, and it took them a moment to reorient themselves.
Meanwhile, a few other vernaiba launched themselves at Saito, and another one joined the one that had bitten Raul and was still flapping around him looking for a good spot to bite.

"Raul!" BillBob shouted back from farther down the room. "Get over here and help me!"
"I'm being attacked!" Raul shouted back, still flailing one arm and attempting to flop the other.

Saito waited until they were close enough and he quickly pulled out two more knives and went to cut their heads off...  

[delbosque]

Saito successfully cut off the heads of two of the vernaiba that were coming at him, the other slipped past his attack and attempted to bite one of his arms...

Meanwhile, BillBob picked up a handful of dry pet food and threw it past Raul.
"Get over here!" he shouted once more at Raul, "It's safer!"
The vernaiba by Raul turned and chased after the bits of food, and also some of the creatures up by the ceiling were distracted by it.
Seeing that, Raul started running for where BillBob was, over by a cage that was composed of a thick polymer mesh.

Saito brought up his right fourarm and it was bit by the vernaiba and his arm went completely limp. He looked at it for a few seconds, gave a sigh, and began to walk towards the other two, his arm swinging slightly back and forth.

Running, Raul got to where BillBob was before Saito did.
"WHAT?" he shrieked, "This isn't safer!"
The cage the boy was next to had holes burned in the polymer mesh, and Raul could see a lot more vernaiba flapping about inside. BillBob threw a handful of dry pet food to the back of the cage to distract them.
"Yes it is!" BillBob insisted, seeing the vernaiba inside chase the pellets. He threw some old rags at Raul. "Once we stuff up the holes! Hurry, before more get out!"
BillBob then proceeded to shove a rag into the hole he'd thrown the food through. The rags were all soppy from being on the floor which had recently had a mix of liquids on it, but had mostly drained off.
