"Hm, yeah, but we'd have to make sure it's okay with Anzu if you stay with her again. She is leaving for New York soon, but I'm not exactly sure when." Jounouchi nodded over the receiver. It was understood that where he and his father lived, it was 'too small' for a third person. That way Jounouchi had a reason not to let Shizuka in this cruddy apartment with their cruddy dad. So back after Battle City, when Shizuka stayed a little longer, she had roomed with Anzu at her house.
"So anyway, be great to see you." he couldn't help but smile over the phone, glad Shizuka was able to always be so sweet and care-free. "Keep trying hard; you're gonna be so successful in life." he finished off, not wanting to stop talking with his sister, but knowing Mokuba was probably wondering where he was by now.

Um, well it's actually the end of the school year, but in Japan school starts again right after getting out, in April, so Shizuka would be just starting her new school year, where's the other characters have graduated so are off.))

Shizuka didn't say anything, she had no particular intention to stay with Anzu. She knew Jounouchi-san had his problems, but he was her father, and her next visit would be about seeing him as much as her brother. The fact that her brother tried to keep her away from him just made her worry more. She understood her brother's fear, but she wasn't going to allow that to influence her own anymore. She'd be brave for him, and whatever mess the other half of her family might be in, she was determined to help sort them out, once and for all.
However now would not be the time to get into that with her elder sibling, so she'd just end the conversation for now and work out her future plans at a later date. Resuming her happy, carefree chirp she said, "Thanks big brother, that means a lot to me, I'll talk to you in awhile about when I'll be free, take care of yourself, father too."
Hanging up the phone after hearing her brothers final goodbye was difficult, she missed him so much, and rarely got to see him. Hopefully she'd be able to remedy that soon enough.
((I know they have school pretty much year round, but I didn't remember where we were to know where a split or break would even be.))

Jounouchi hung up the phone, in a better mood from talking to Shizuka, though still nervous to pull off the rest of this plan. He hurriedly went off, packing the things he would need, hoping Tetsuo wouldn't change his mind about not throwing a drunken fit over this. He proceeded to get a bag together, only taking the essentials (you know, deck, magazines, oh, and maybe a toothbrush), thinking over if he might still be at Kaiba's by the time Shizuka visits, and if that were the case, how he would handle that.
Glancing back around the house and at his father once more, bag packed, Jounouchi thought a silent goodbye, dialing Mokuba to announce he was ready to meet up.
((Um, well depending on how long ago the last school year ended, Shizuka could be on spring break right now, though that isn't long. They do have a summer vacation too, so that would probably be the next one.
Also, couldn't really remember if Jounouchi and Mokuba were supposed to meet or get picked up or what, so we can just skip to Jounouchi getting to Kaiba's?))

Seto safely stashed his computer away where neither his blond babysitter or his pushy little brother would find it. He placed the external drive back on the desk, so as not to arouse suspicion. He had transferred the necessary content to his laptop, just in case Mokuba on second thought snatched the drive too.
He cringed as he heard Jounouchi's grating drawl several hallways away. He hadn't even needed the alert of presence, the man was doing a fantastic job of announcing his unwelcome self all on his own. Crawling back into bed, Seto pulled the duvet up over his head. Maybe if he pretended to be asleep he'd be left alone awhile longer.
((I think Jounouchi said he'd just show up there...and Mokuba had gone to the office I think...but since he called Mokuba I'll leave it to you to fill in how he got there as I'm neither of those people. razz ))

The door to Kaiba's room opened, and a servant peeked in, checking to see the situation. She closed the door, whispering to Jounouchi that Kaiba was sleeping. Jounouchi nodded, saying back that he would just stay quiet for now then, so the servant let him in.
The door closing behind him, Jounouchi padded into the room, surprisingly able to walk silently, even with shoes on. He had been smiling and not thinking about any of the problems as he chatted with a servant on his way up here, even exclaiming in pleasant surprise when he found out he had his own room here bigger than his entire apartment back home, and joking about moving up in the world.
But now, walking into this room, looking down and seeing Kaiba's sleeping form, it really was hitting him. He was here, in Kaiba's house, seeing the guy in his most natural state of being... well, as close to natural as Kaiba could get. Jounouchi felt like he was imprisoned in the castle of some crazy rich guy. Why the hell had he subjected himself to this again...? Sighing softly, the blond went and sat down in a nearby chair, leaning back in it and looking around the room in interest.
((Ghh, I fail at remembering what my own characters decided. Okay, Mokuba's still at the office, and Jounouchi was escorted by a servant.))

Really? He was actually going to just sit here and watch him sleep? Seto almost just leaped up and started ranting at Jounouchi for being such a creepy freak, but he managed to check himself in time. A rant might make him feel better momentarily, but it would also completely foil any future plans to feign sleep. Even if he really did want to sleep Jounouchi would probably just sit there and watch him, just to piss him off. That would make sleep almost as impossible as working. Better to just calm down and assume Jounouchi wasn't sure what to do with himself in this house yet. The barely literate hothead probably hadn't done something like brought a book to entertain himself with in his own room, so it would be up to Seto to direct him to other forms of entertainment. Forms of entertainment that were not in his own bedroom.
Rolling over slowly, pretending to have been disturbed by some nigh imperceptible squeak emitted from the armchair, Seto squinted at the blond man. Taking a few moments, before "sleepily" murmuring, "don't you have anything less creepy to do than watch me sleep?"

Jounouchi jumped, quickly turning his attention to Kaiba and blinking. He then flushed, obviously insulted and miffed that the other would assume he was doing something as weird as watching him sleep. "I was not watching you sleep!" he echoed his thoughts. He had been looking around the room and surveying it, dammit! He had only glanced at Kaiba as long as the rest of the room. Right? Well, it wasn't like Jounouchi had been counting the amount of seconds he spent focusing on different things, but it was about that, at least. I mean, maybe he looked at Kaiba a little longer because he was a human, something more subject to interest than the stupid blue walls or the stupid fancy carpet, but that was still different than 'watching someone sleep,' sheesh!

Seto raised an eyebrow as Jounouchi immediately lapsed into silence after the defensive outburst. He inwardly chuckled imagining the others brain simply short circuiting. However, there was only so much awkward silence he could take. "Of course you weren't," he taunted, "I'm sure you were just checking out the bed spread, right up there with watching paint dry on your list of favorite activities I suspect." Seto sat up, smirking at the flustered, reddening man before him.
((I'm not sure by "echoing" his thoughts you mean that Jounouchi was thinking about what he had been doing or he related them to Seto. So sorry if it was the latter, but I decided in the end to read it as the former, because that's originally the first way I took it before considering a possible other reading. This way made me laugh, imagining Jou exploding and then sitting their silently thinking to himself, however the comic point of the situation is what made me wonder about how to read it. So yea, sorry if I read it wrong.))

"Tch, stop being so assuming! I wasn't even in here fifteen goddamn seconds before you pop up and start accusing me of watching you sleep! s**t, I was just looking around the room; don't all people do that when they step into a new place?!" he prattled angrily to the other, obviously not thrilled at being called someone who enjoys watching paint dry. He was everything but boring, and to be called that by Kaiba of all people...
((Ah, sorry, I worded that poorly. Um, I don't think you exactly read it right, but at the same time you responded right. XD Essentially I just meant that Jounouchi was thinking, 'I was not watching you sleep.' so then he echoed those thoughts and said out loud, "I was not watching you sleep." But those were the only thoughts he echoed; everything else was just him ranting in his head, so yeah, he did go silent after. XD))

"I wouldn't know, I tend not to visit other men's bedrooms, but I'll take your word on that though," Seto mocked, chuckling inwardly as the now scarlet faced Jounouchi ranted lividly about the implied innuendo.

"What did you say you b*****d?!" Jounouchi stepped forward, clenching his fist as his face reddened, "What, you gotta assume that any guy that is in another guy's room is there for... for that?! Only someone who never visits other people or who doesn't have any friends would say so! Normal people visit each other's rooms all the time! It's called hanging out, but obviously you wouldn't know anything about that!!"

And you want ranting as in Jounouchi ranting? XD You don't need to worry about short posts; I've already told you before that with Karma almost all are posts are as short as your last one, or shorter. I'm good at adapting to different styles of roleplay, and I'm happy with whatever. I like long posts because you get more info, but short posts because it keeps things moving quicker.))

Had no idea your mind would immediately jump toward some sort of dubious innuendo. Although I think it says a lot about a person, how quickly they'd make that assumption. It's defensive, and there is generally something to be assumed about defensive people, they often have something to hide." Seto finished, adopting a contemplative look as he pretended to eye the blond man suspiciously. It was almost more than he could manage to not roll over laughing at how utterly furious a reaction he had evoked in his "caretaker." Sure he was unwell, and a murderous Jounouchi was now hoovering a mere few inches above him, but Seto just couldn't help himself. If he was going to be forced into ill-chosen company he was not going to be peaceable.
((I still feel bad. I mean I did sign in everyday, looked at this, and then ran away.
And yes, as in Jounouchi ranting. He hasn't been angry in awhile. xd ))

Jounouchi stared down at Kaiba now, his face red. His mouth was gaping open, occasionally opening more or closing part way, as if he kept attempting to begin a retort. He was drawn at a blank though, not knowing how to respond to something so unexpected. Had Kaiba really not been making any innuendo? s**t, what if the guy was right, that Jounouchi had jumped to that conclusion himself, and... and...
"I-I don't have anything to hide...!!" he finally managed to say, having to tear his gaze away in embarrassment. Damn Kaiba and his damn words...
((Awww, it's okay. XD
Heehee, true enough. He's just not Jounouchi when he doesn't go into angry rants.))

Seto goggled up at Jounouchi in disbelief, realizing he'd actually made the other man doubt himself. He couldn't believe it, because of one of Seto's own little taunts Jounouchi now stood baffled, possibly questioning his own sexuality. Seto couldn't take it anymore, he actually collapsed back onto the bed laughing hysterically. He couldn't even remember the last time that had happened, probably back before Mokuba was even born, back before his parents had died and his life had changed drastically.
"You're actually panicking about this aren't you?" Seto choked out between bouts of hysterical laughter, unable to check himself even as Jounouchi collected himself enough to turn confused embarrassment back into resentful rage. Seto just kept laughing, possibly mumbling things like "dumb dog" and "naive fool" all the while. Rolling over to see an irate Jounouchi glare down at him just doubled his hysteria.

Jounouchi managed to regain himself enough to flush anew and glare down at Kaiba, "Wh-what the hell is so ******** funny?!" he demanded, "Dammit, I'm not panicking, and I'm not a dog!!" when Kaiba seemed to ignore him and go on with his crazy person laugh, Jounouchi just got even more pissed, "Shut up!!" he shouted as he slammed his hands on the bed, now leaning forward and glaring daggers at the other.
