I'm using it now to use a character to relieve some of my stress for me. Writing really does help, or so I've found. So I write about my character Gabriel once a week, he's a snake basket if anything. xD

Yes, writing relieves stress for me as well. Do you only have Gabriel's story, or are you working on others as well?

I was going to turn Gabriel's life into a novel, but things didn't work out the way I planned. I find this method of using him is much, much more suitable. I am working on some other projects: one involves a friend of Gabriel and I've already finished a story about a man in the cold war who's family and he get abducted by the Soviet Union and are faced with some really gruesome trials because they stole money from the Soviets. All of the "good guys" die in that story, it's really peculiar and disgusting. Like a decent mix of the movies Saw and Elecktra. Torturous games and weird mutants, but mixed.

That sounds very gruesome and enticing. Did you have to do a lot of research to write that story? I mean, did you have to do research to see what the SU was like, and what the cold war was like?

I spent about four months researching and writing for the parts that needed it. But it wasn't just the Soviet Union and the Cold War I researched. I spent a good half month of researching about the Native American cultures (before the colonizing of the U.S.) and another good half month studying ancient African traditions, witch doctoring and voodoo. I went down to South Africa for a week as well. Spent some time researching Brazil and Colombia as well. It was a rough ordeal, but I was satisfied with the results.
