Modern Magic: Elementals (Combine with Assassins?!)
Premise: Magic Users of modern day do not use spells, but summon and entice/control elemental creatures to do the magic for them. Can have a good relationship with them, and thus are more like partners (the elementals can refuse to help), or can have a controlling relationship with them, and thus are more certain of results (no requests, just orders) - but
if they get a chance to escape, they will.
Elementals:Earth - Gnomes (low), Fauns (medium), Golems (high), Stone Dragons (ultimate)
Fire - Salamanders (low), Ifreets (medium), Firebirds (high), Flame Dragons (ultimate)
Air - Sylphs (low), Faeries (medium), Rocs (high), Zephyr Dragons (ultimate)
Water - Undines (low), Naiads (medium), Krakens (high), Sea Dragons (ultimate)
Elementals - Descriptions: (Note: Elementals of a higher level have a wider range of abilities and with increased strength, but are harder to summon and convince/control)
EARTH
Gnomes - Very short, stubby humanoids, usually about 1-2 ft tall, who clothe themselves with plants. Are not
very smart.
- Are capable of very basic, rather weak earth spells, such as minor healing and vine/root tangle.
Fauns - Short humanoids, usually about 3 ft tall, with furry goat legs, cloven toes and small horns on the
forehead. Somewhat intelligent, and can understand some complex ideas.
- Are capable of moderate earth spells, such as moderate healing, raising stone walls, carring objects
through the ground to other places, and minorly enhanced strength.
Golems - Large stone-and-earth humanoids with broad shoulders and no facial features, usually about 10 ft
tall. Very tough physically, and also very intelligent.
- Are capable of advanced earth spells, such as major healing, transmutation of earth (change rock to
sand, etc.), telekinesis of earth (moving earth/stones around in various ways), travel with anything
(human/animal/object) through the ground to other places, annulment of minor curses/ailments, majorly
enhanced strength and stamina.
Stone Dragons - Very large stone dragons, usually 25-30 ft long and 20 ft high. No wings, but are covered in spines.
Extremely tough physically, very rare, and supernaturally intelligent. Often know things impossible
for anybody to know, and often have their own agendas.
- Are capable of godly earth spells, such as resurrection from the dead, annulment of major
curses/ailments, manipulation of gravity, manipulation of diamonds (into jewels, weapons, armor, etc.),
and causing earthquakes.
- Require a sacrifice from the summoner; summoner's choice, but must be appropriate for request
made, or they will refuse. Cannot be controlled or forced into service like lesser elementals.
