"Thanks! You too!" Sokka replied with a wave of his hand as he scurried past the guards, patting their backs on the way out, "You take care of her! Or I'll have to teach you a lesson, Sokka style!"

"We'll keep that in mind..." one of the guards rolled his eyes.
Zuko finally finished sipping at his water, staring down at the floor quietly. However, he could feel his heart sink down into the pit of his stomach as he heard a familiar voice...
"Little Prince Zuko... could that by any chance be you...?" an arrogant voice said as loud footsteps slowly made their way towards the prince, "I was not expecting to see you here of all places..."
Commander Zhao of the Fire Nation rested his hand against Zuko's table as he proceeded to lean against it, placing it other hand casually against his hip, "In all honesty, I more expected to see you running around in some Earth Kingdom city... being chased by angry villagers..." he smirked at the thought, "But of course... that's not very fitting for the prince of the Fire Nation, now is it...?"

Sokka trotted off the ship to explore the Earth Kingdom city, whistiling as he strolled along the dirt path which appeared to lead to the main marketplace. It was so warm here, so beautiful. It felt nice, albeit he was hot. Stopping along the road, he quickly removed his thick winter coat and gloves and placed them near a tree to fetch them later. That was much better.
((Yay! The infamous Zhao!!!))

"What do you want Zhao?" Zuko scowled, looking away from Zhao in anger.
"It's Commander Zhao..." Zhao commented with a smirk, "Quite rude of you Prince Zuko... and I do not want anything in particular... do I need a reason to come say hi to my favorite scar-faced angry boy?"

As Sokka walked through the market, an assortment of unusual items and animals filled his sensations. He inhaled the fresh fragrance of tea, (undoubtedly, Iroh was probably around) and could hear the chirping and hisses noises of the different creatures that wandered the streets. One in particular that caught his eye was a crimson and brown messenger hawk that was perched on a wooden branch in one of the stores.

((Of course. X3 That's a great idea to have him in this RP since his time in the show was so short-lived. D: ))
Zuko scowled, "Well I have no reason to speak to you." he stood up, slamming a tip for the waiter down on the table before opting to march out of the tavern.

Sokka smiled fondly at the young hawk that cocked it's head in his direction. "Hey little fella.." He said scratching the feathers under it's beak. It cooed affectionately in response.
The owner of the shop trotted over to Sokka, joining him near the bird. "You wanna buy a bird?" The old man asked curiously.
"Hm, yea.. but not just any bird." He grinned, "This bird! I like him."
"Naw, you don't. That bird's all messed up the head. Almost got eaten, found him in a mess on the road somewhere a few miles from here. He was just a baby back then, but his flight is pretty weak now because of the injuries he got. I doubt you'd find much use for him. He has to take a lot of breaks between flights and it's tiresome..."
Sokka frowned. "... I like him. At least he tries!" The boy huffed, somewhat defensively.
"Well, if you say so. G'luck." The man untied the bird's leash and handing him to Sokka. The talons punctured his ungloved hands and Sokka let out a yelp.
"Bird's free. Ain't nobody gonna wanna pay for that thing. But, gloves ain't." He said smirking.
Blue eyes narrowed at the man. "Fine, fine." After handing him a few coins, he trotted off with a pair of black gloves and his new pet.

As Zuko made his way outside, he sharply turned the corner directly outside the tavern. He stopped in his tracks though, suddenly coming face-to-face with Sokka. He had been distracted with his anger at Zhao, so hadn't noticed the other boy for a moment. "Oh... it's you..." he said in an annoyed tone, looking Sokka and his new pet over.
Zhao suddenly walked outside after Zuko, "Aww, now don't be like that Prince Zuko." he said tauntingly, then noticed that the Prince was facing someone, "And who's this?" he rose an eyebrow, "A friend of your's? Didn't know you would lower yourself to conversing with peasants."

Zhao blinked, obviously taken aback, as Zuko couldn't help but put a hand over his mouth and snort to keep from laughing out loud.
