((You're changed in that year >_> Duh ))
Mayloo casted a glance towards Vence just long enough to see his face tint with red. W-Why was he blushing? Was Theil really getting to him? Maybe it was because she had color remaining upon her own face. The silence hadn't exactly helped it ebb away. Then again, maybe this silence was to allow careful contemplation of thoughts and words in which she should be relieved about.
Her face drained of it's unnatural pinks as he began speaking of their brief encounter. The 'hooked up' part made her smile a alittle in his word choice. "There should be no violence Vence. We are only visitors." Mayloo knew he wouldn't just kill anyone for such a silly, petty reason but she couldn't help to interject with her own voice again. She was just ridding the last of the nerves. That was until they returned with a question from Theil.
Her hands began toying with her hair while her eyes fell upon the table. "Vence is...handsome. He's sweet and...." It was hard to answer something with the subject sitting nearby. "I like him and his intelligence very much." That was he easiest way to put it without getting into every little quirk or aspect she did become fond of.
((Believe, I've had that happen tons of times. Glad to know that there are others who take uber long to post x3 ))

[Only in subtle ways. razz No matter how much time passes, we all change, yet for it, we still remain as we always were. rolleyes And the cycle continues.]
Vence stiffened as Theil addressed Mayloo. fear and excitement coursed through him. What would she say? How much would she say? memories flashed through him mind of times he may have bored her. Forbidden magic; strange dreams...did those bore her? Stop it Vence, your overreacting. What if I'm not? You don't have a reason to. Don't I? A dumb one. Trust her. Trust. That was a good word. He forced himself to relax, releasing the pent up air in his lungs slowly. He hadn't realized he had been holding his breath. Barely a few seconds had passed. Then she spoke.
It was short - could be called an answer? - but it was more than enough for himself. Somewhere inside him, he felt so alive, he couldn't help but wonder how he was standing still. Maybe that was why he was blushing again.
Theil nodded sagely, apparently satisfied. To him, it was all to clear she was telling the truth, as jumbled as the wording could be. She liked him a lot more than that. The nervous fidgeting suggesting she would start blabbing, given the opportunity. The thought made him smile. He wouldn't bother giving her said opportunity, of course, but it was nice all the same. I wonder what i's like, being madly in love.
"Well, I hope he doesn' let you down. Then again, why hope, he never's let me down yet." He bowed his head slightly to Vence. "Tha's his best trait, I think; dependable, reliable, whatever word fits."
It was clear, of course, that Vence had reacted all too positively. It was uncommon to see him all worked up like this, it was almost funny. Instead, he smiled.
At that moment Mrs. Relfos walked in from so same door Theil had walked in from. She smiled at them all, and then focused her attention on Theil.
"Dinner will be ready in a moment, Go fetch your father, Theil, I need him to set the table and it's his turn to send thanks. And keep all four legs on the floor, please, I tell you that all the time." Without waiting for a reply, she turned back the way she came.
"Got it," Theil responded, letting the chair right itself with a thud as he stood up. "Be back in a sec." He left the room heading towards the entryway.
Vence had nothing left to do but look at Mayloo. There were plenty of things to look at, of course; the fancy ornaments on the shelf, the view outside the window overlooking the vast plains, the natural grain of the wooden furniture and the floor, the ceiling. But the most interesting and wonderful thing to look at was her. She was beautiful, and there really wasn't any other word for it.
He didn't know what to say, so he remained silent, hoping she might know a way to break the silence.

Mayloo had noticed a slight shift of Vence but had paid no mind as she answered. Hopefully it served as a sufficient enough attempt to sate both Theil's and from what she assumed, Vence's curiosities.
The room wasn't as consuming in tension to her now though, Vence was showing otherwise what with a reddened face himself. "I'd believe it...He has sort of taken me in." She relied on him to help her carry out her plan of running away and has only given shelter along the way. That signified trustworthy to her. Mayloo smiled shyly at Vence before it transitioned to one of greeting to the woman who came in and left with Theil.
Her eyes followed after them and just lingered for a moment in obvious obliviousness to Vence's observation. "So...Are we to help out in anyway?" Looking back to see his eyes upon her didn't stir anything unusual within her for it was expected after having been addressed. "I really wouldn't mind ya know." Her hand made an approach to hold his own to carry on what she was doing before being harmlessly interrupted.(( >_> I'm getting reeeeeally tired of exam studying. >w< But atleast I posted....Mainly cause I'll be gone till Sunday! [Ah, exams. whee The tests I no longer will ever have to take. razz lol But hey, camping's cool. smile ]
Vence shook his head, grateful that the silence was broken. "We're guests, Mayloo, we don't do a thing." She spoke again, insisting it would be any trouble at all. Even as she spoke, her hand reached out for his.
Her extending hand, subtle as it was, was all the incentive he needed to do the same. Reaching out, he gently clasped her hand in his, interlocking fingers.
"I know you wouldn't, but for now we just sit tight, alright?" He answered kindly, a sympathetic expression on his face. Normally, he wouldn't want to be sitting around doing nothing either. As it was, he was only following custom, and didn't want to be impolite.
"Shouldn't be too hard, right?" Giving her hand a small squeeze, he smiled.

((Aren't there college exams?))
"If you insist..." With a somewhat sly kinda smile, she rolled her eyes. No rude connotation added to the gesture. As for the activities they could do without implementing the training, Mayloo was clueless. Being both in a new place and bad at ideas, it was decidedly up Vence.
Upon returning his hand squeeze, she gave an exaggerated sigh. "I'm going to suffer!" Her head fell to the table with her tongue hanging out playing dead.
A simple idea came to mind, one that made her jolt back up. "Can we go on a walk?"

[I'm not in college, now am I? whee Maybe later down the road, but not now.]
Vence couldn't help but laugh as Mayloo played dead. He wasn't even sure why, it was just amusing. Naturally, then, he was taken quite off guard by her sudden inquiry. He reigned in his laughter, with some minor difficulty, before answering, eyes raised in curiosity.
"A walk?" It wasn't a bad idea, really. She had never been to this Bankridge, and he had been gone for two years. Some sightseeing and catching up were in order, naturally. Of course, other thoughts came to mind. He quickly shoved those away, before they had time to develop into coherent thoughts. No, if you start loosening the leash, eventually you just let go.
"Sure, that sounds good to me...after dinner?" he asked, remembering the incoming meal.
[Heehee, Vence is trying so hard not to be a perv. wink lol xP Gotta' throw in a twist here and there. razz ]

((I can find it without the bump thank you very much! x3 ))
An eye popped open just to witness Vence's fit of sheer enjoyment pertaining her little act. Of course she wouldn't stay like that long with that question in mind. "Yeah! To explore or something." The house was starting to get to her abit, being now the longest time she's spent indoors, excluding sleep time, for days. At least, as far as she remembered. The boat ride could've distorted it somewhat.
"Dinner?"" Her thoughts trailed off as well, but on a path more for sanity then Vence's. ( ;3 ) "I suppose..." The darkness that would encroach during dinner would hinder their viewing ability of the foreign place unless, Vence made himself a light source. The thought became more pleasant as her imagination took the conscious on a daydream clip.
There they were, walking the dirt paths beneath the moonlight. The village would stand on one side and the fish rippled river on the other. Completely off topic..."Do you think there will be lighting bugs?" The grasp had tightened as if they were enacting her silly vision now.

"In dinner or outside?" Vence said, breaking into a wide smile. He knew perfectly well what she meant, but he couldn't help tease a little. "Being on the edge of the plains, yes, there are glow bugs. Their glow's intensity shows how humid or dry it is. The brigher, the dryer."
