She nodded her in her fevered state, her fingers curling limply around her aunt's. Turning her eyes to the ceiling, Alika watched the tiles zoom past her as she was rushed to a room. She could just feel herself slipping away, and part of her knew she would be long gone before Travis ever got there.

"you're going to be okay, alika." Jaz sighed, brushing some hair from the girl's face as she looked at her husband.
A loud screaching noise was heard just outside the hospital as travis's bike came speeding into the parking lot, only to slip in a puddle and skid out. Grunting as he stood up, the prince glanced back at his bike and hobbled inside, brushing off the people who rushed to help him. "i'm fine. i'll heal. just... t-take me to her... take me to Alika..." he panted, hugging his side as a nurse escorted him to the princess's room.

Alika felt her strength disappearing at exponential rates now, just barely able to keep her hand up and holding Jaz's. ARound her, the doctors and nurses buzzed, connecting her to a machine while they explained the coming procedure.
"We/ll be extracting the baby, since that's what hurting her. We'll also need to completely sever the cords and find a way to stop the intense bleeding. There's a chance she may not make it, but we're going to try our best to keep her safe."

nodding, the queen gave a sigh. "do try your best to keep her alive?"
rushing into the room, Travis gave a sigh as he took Alika's hand. "Alika? i'm .. i'm here..." he sighed, kissing her gently, only to wipe his blood off her lips.

The doctor nodded and motioned for the nurses to continue prepping her.
Alika looked up at her boyfriend, eyes glazing over. "L-love... love y-you," she managed to force out, a tear falling down her face.
A nurse approached the royal couple, gesturing to the door. "Please, I must ask you to leave. It's unsanitary for you three to enter the operation room. Will you wait outside?"

"of course." the queen nodded, smiling as her husband wheeled her out of the room.
turning, the prince gave a sigh. "c-can i... can i stay with her until they start? please?" Travis mumbled, not letting go of his girlfriend's hand once.

The nurse sighed and checked her watch. "You have two minutes, and then we have to get started."
Alika, in too much agony to try speaking again, stared up at her boyfriend, just barely keeping her focus on him. Her eyes, however, spoke volumes, telling him how sorry she was and how much she loved him.

"oh, alika... " the prince sighed, stroking her cheek gently. "i-i love you... so much...." he whispered, holding back the tears in his eyes as he leaned down to kiss her again. "i'll be waiting for you, my princess." he murmured softly, pulling away and brushing some hair from her face.

Her eyes followed him, her hand already aching for the loss of his. The terrified princess closed her eyes as she was wheeled out of the room, awaiting her final hours.
Meanwhile, a nurse went to Travis, looking him over.

Letting out a sigh as he sat down, holding his side, the prince could do nothing but wait for Alika to be brought back from surgery.

Around two hours later, the doctor emerged from the operating room, wearing a teal cover that was covered in dark blood. He walked over to to the royals, wringing his hands. "We tried our best, but..."

"please, is she alright?!?" The worried prince asked, looking at the doctor with wide eyes, rushing over despite having been told not to push himself. he didn't care if he broke his cracked ribs, he just wanted to know alika was safe.

The doctor looked up, his sad eyes looking into Travis'. "I'm so sorry." he said quietly, shaking his head. "We... we lost her."

"sh-sh.... she's gone....?" Travis gasped, falling to his knees as he started to cry. "oh... Alika..."
