Not fully completely, but in a sense, yeah...
And I've seen the movie...

Almost every anime and manga set out there have differences between them... Look at Bleach. It completely skips past things after a time in Hueco Mundo, but in the manga it follows it further~

My step-dad has all the FMA episodes on DVD, if I recall correctly, so I'll be watching those after I finish reading the manga ^^;

Escaflowne is really like that too. Having the manga(s) being completely different from the anime.

They all start out more or less the same, but diversify greatly later.

I think that's because they made the anime before the manga was finished or something, so they all took their own interpretations on it.

We also have the Escaflowne box set >3>
I've never read the manga, but I've seen some of the anime~

I watched the whole anime at one point. I watched it when it was on FOX kids or whatever, and then I watched it subbed later. Yey.

I think I've read both mangas. One is 8 long, and is aimed more at guys (more fighting, sexy transformations, and less focus on what'shername's problems). The other is 2 long, and is aimed at girls (romance is totally kicked up a notch).

hehe... of course there's gonna be lots of romance when it's aimed at girls.
Was it Hitomi?

Wow, Escaflowne. One of my favorites forever ago.

Sigh. I just don't watch anime anymore. Execptions being the occasional Miyazaki movie.

Mmn... I still have to say .Hack//Sign is my favorite anime. Of course, I've found a lot of others that I like... many are pretty depressing, but those wind up being some of the best ^^;
Such as Ergo Proxy, Air, and Elfen Lied... I also like crazy ones like FLCL..

I cant find much manga or anime that interests me. I enjoy Studio Ghibli's wonder, Akira, Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi in Tokyo, Gunparade March, Dragon Ball (The manga) and Gundam Wing, Maho Romantic and Ai Aori Aoshi. There isnt much available here, at least not when I actually have money. Plus whats available on TV tends to suck.

I used to read manga, but then it all came down to one fact.

They're just stories, some are better than others. Vicarious experiences thrown all around.

Nothing wrong with manga of course, I'd rather just read words rather than pictures with dialog.

Words are very nice, and very easy to disappear into... However, I think a lot of people like the easier way of seeing where they're going, rather then imagining it fully.

Ugh... It's so hot here xp I might melt before I can even do the dishes~

Reasons why I said I prefer books to manga.

I'm not attempting to go around and reprimand those who prefer other things by shouting "begone devil spirits!" No, no, no. Just a handy contribution to a conversation that I'm not really a part of. n_n;

Anyway... *returns to other activities*

Good thing they make novels of popular manga... -_-

I try to stay away from those. I'm sure they're nice and all, but I think I'll take my manga in art form, thank you very much.

When I buy manga, I always feel a little guilty that I'm not getting like... real books. So then I make sure I get those every now and then, especially as christmas and birthday gifts. I have more time to read them in the summer/winter breaks anyway.

Feeling better, Tana?

I tend to read more western comics, as well as a lot of discworld. My comic reccomendations at the minute are Cerebus the Aardvark and Nemesis the Warlock
