Your eyes can be so cruel...

Ramune- It does.
But the worst is over now. We braved the storm, and the sirens. I'm not sleeping until 5am or whenever I suddenly pass out.

This was a freak storm. Since Tornado season supposedly ended 4 months ago.

From what I heard, the only place affected most by it was Downtown Louisville, where trees were uprooted from the wind.

In So.Cal, the newscasters make EVERYTHING seem like a big deal. xD;

"Flood watch - 2 inches of rain is heading your way! DDDDD:"

So far we've only had earthquakes and windstorms, and the windstorms that I can think of are more dangerous in these parts because of all our palm trees in residential neighborhoods and other large trees with HUGE branches. .__.

well the first t-warning I went through was when I was 9, and me being me I started freaking out, grabbed my hammie (hamster) and all her stuff, as well as all my stuff animals, went to my basement and put all my stuffed animals around me as I held onto my litter hamster. I was a funny kid.

But we're gotten watches a least twice a year now. We've had funnels form but nothing more. we've never had anything major happen either, just an uplifted tree, blue boxes scattered, and tree branches and leaves all over our yard.

Last tornado we ever had was about 60 years ago.. so ya know.

Seriously.
But the thing is, it hasn't rained here in So. Cal in ages!
I'd be dancing in the rain outside if there was 2 inches of rain.
I think the weather is just confused down here. At the beginning of this week, it was FREEZING. And I'm the type of person that usually wears short pants and a shirt when others are bundled up in there sweats. But this time I had to wear my jeans and sweater. And then today, it was blazing hot.
Then during the night you get a light drizzle, and sometime during the week you get some winds. It's pretty weird. Darn desert.

That sounded scary. Glad nothing happened.
I live in Norway//Sweden. Thankfully outside the danger zone.

We do have snow though, but it feels as though we get less every year.

Snow storms & ice storms are scary though.
I lived through the Ice Storm of '97.
It was basically hell on earth.

Nor- Heh. It was like that in Vegas last year. Hardly any rain, it got down in the twenties during the winter [ it usually was supposed to be in the low fifties ], and it snowed three years in a row. o_o The only time it had really rained, it flooded the surrounding neighborhood. Now I hear that it got up to 132 this summer? xD

Wabbet- It was. Believe me, I don't want to hear those sirens again.
The only thing that really happened here in the metro-Louisville area was that trees got uprooted and power was out downtown near the Ohio river.

Fujin- Yeah, I know, but that fear is instilled in me. I mean, the house I currently live in is 66 years old. We're still investing in a storm cellar to put in our backyard, seeing as we don't have a basement.

Being in England, we don't seem to get them very often.
Well, if we do, they're never on a severe scale.
Aparently we get around 30 a year, but I rarely hear of them. :3

STD: You asked what the difference between a hurricane and tornado was.
Tornado - Giant twister thing, doesn't last long. Few minutes at most.
Hurricane - Massive storm, which has a sort of swirling thing.

My advice is to get your butt to the international airport in Denver, Colorado. The bathroom's their are certified Tornado Shelters.

..and though the weather was fine when i was there, boy that was the safest piss i've ever taken.
