My school's dress code, used to be kinda strict, in terms of wearing tanks tops and short skirts and shorts and guys wearing earrings. Since we have a new principal, the dress codes have become pretty lax and people can wear things they never used to before.
I don't really have a problem with dress codes except when it comes to piercings and hair.
My grammar school had a rule against girls having more than two piercings in each ear, and that's slightly understandable because the kids' ages ranged between 6-14, so it's like what 14 year old would walk around with a pierced nose and tongue?
But I'm glad my high school doesn't have restrictions against piercings and tats and hair dye, and I do realize that most of the professional world frowns upon facial piercings and wacky hair colors, but things are starting to become more liberal today, so some things like nose piercings are becoming more acceptable. I don't think dressing like a skank will ever become acceptable however. :]

TrixareforRabbits I don't even know my school's dress code, they don't enforce it at all. `Pretty much the same here.
Except that everyone knows it by heart because every year, in the first week of the year, and then again in the first week back after winter break, all the school does is go back over the rules and the dress code and the cell phone policy and all that crap that isn't enforced and nobody cares about.

Chrono.flame MY school doesn't have dress codes... the students are free to wear whatever they want. moohaha! `So you're saying that if a girl wore a fishnet shirt to school with nothing underneath, she wouldn't get in trouble?
Of course she would. Every school has some semblance of a dress code.

xXxAzuki_Ice_CreamxXx We Had Fire in our eyes... .[My schools dress code is crap. Once I got in trouble because I had pink stripes in my hair and I had had them in my hair for months and they were going to suspend me until I got the pink out but my parents threw a hissy and I didn't have to get them out. Thing was that there wasn't even a rule against the highlights, my principal just didn't like them. But yeah, we have to wear certain shirts and pants. No sweatshirts or jeans.].
In.The.Beginning... no jeans!? gonk Those are the only kind of pants I have other than pajama bottoms

Good for you. Get it elsewhere, because you're now banned.

At my junior high (Which I finished and am going to high school) we're not supposed to wear head gear in the school. But by the middle of the year, I'm normally wearing bandanas...
I'd also like to state the difference between school uniforms and schoold dress codes. Uniforms involve mandatory clothing that you must where. So having to wear a white shirt and black bottoms is a unform. (There was once one in my elementry school, which didn't even last a year. People just stopped, then more and more until the announcement came saying that they were lifting the uniform) Dress codes are ban certain clothing, not list mandatory clothing. It is normally to keep inappropriate clothing out(like reavealing stuff and swearing text...). I agree with them, but not uniforms. Of course sometimes I get pissed over some rules. In my middle school, you could wear camisoles, but you're shoulders had to be coverd...so a half sweater....and you couldn't have any cleavage showing.

we had dress codes but the only time i've ever seen them enforced is the FCUK shirt..one of my teachers made a kid turn it inside out but that was back in junior high, in high school we got away with anything. I mean we even had kids coming in on Halloween dressed as a condom, v****a, and a p***s >.> and chasing each other down the hallways yelling at the condom to stop cuz they need protection.. rofl but no one stopped that...the teachers were the only one with an enforced dress code ironically XD
