Yeah, when it goes to chat speak, I go crazy.
And I literally laughed out loud when I read the "shud u^p No087b" part. Because sadly, some a lot of people would say that.
I think we all lose brain cells there.
Especially the people typing.
...So THAT'S why they do it! They killed all of their own existing brain cells.
Finally, an answer.

I bet they are maybe being controlled by a higher being of teh Dumb to make Smarties turn the same and next it'll be the world and we will all be destroyed by own Stupidity gonk
Maybe it even got to Bush already! (Er sorry to insult if you like Bush, it's just that I never had a feel for him even when he was running in 2000 when I was 5 in kindergarden. Also that joke was just bursting from me and I couldn't hold it)
Kinda unbelievable, but someday there might be one mistake that could change the world forever. XD
Bush needs to lay off teh 1337.
Maybe he'll regain some brain cells.
...or not.
What can he regain what he never had?

Maybe he'll get a chance to gain some after he's out of office. I bet the stress made it worse.

I can't spell for my life, never have been able to, but I try to be literate, I can't stand people who abbreviate everything. just like that new commercial with the family sitting down to scrabble and they're all txt-talking... it makes me sad to be growing up surrounded by illiteracy and have it be largely supported. -sigh- oh well.

ha, I always have my dictionary on stand-by.... if I don't end up loosing it, which happens way too often sweatdrop
But it doesn't help much when I need to translate slang, or some new words
neither does google ;T
Which I either just ask what it means, or guess the meaning ;D

I hate when people type with numbers and whatnot.
I can't read it at all. Likewise. It drives me nuts when people mistake "looser" for "loser" and "your" for "you're". Those little things bug me more than anything else about English.

[ ] If there's a word I don't know how to spell, I just go to dictionary.com and type it in. If it wasn't spelled right, it gives spelling suggestions.
I agree that literacy is very important, whether you're using it online or out in the real world. I can understand if English isn't someone's first language, obviously. If English is your first language, then there really is no excuse for constantly misusing it or misspelling simple words.
Don't even get me started on leet. It's always driven me nuts. []

I've noticed something really sad about America...
We're getting so very illiterate.
It's like... literacy is for rich people or something.
At my school, some people actually put "u" and "lol" in their essays.
I am scared for our future. o__o

I used to be a member of the 3G's.....but after a few weeks....I was sick of everyone. No offense but all they do is complain about illiterate people and talk about themselves. Bunch of jerks if you ask me.
I do enjoy being literate though....otherwise my English honors classes would be worthless, I guess.
I will admit I used to speak all noobish...then this one guy from school (I had quite the crush on him) found me on Gaia and blatantly told me how dumb I was.
