porn?
PostPosted: Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:07 am
TYBAR: As much as I agree with that...

Sadly, gaia is very an*l about having adult content posted here.

That's why I've made "other" websites my second home.
(too many restrictions)

Gaia is nothing more then a nostalgia spot for a once every 2 or 3 days stop, for me now. (unless I'm feeling restless)

It would be nice if they had an "adults only section" in gaia.
Sence there are still a number of people here that are over 18.
But I guess that sence we're the minority, the admins don't give a rat's a** about us.
(or anything but money, really)

How exactly would you have an "adult only" section on a public website? rolleyes There be no way to verify age except by credit card, and you'd just whine about having to pay for it. Besides, you can get plenty of that elsewhere. Gaia's attempts to be all things for all people are what ruined everything unique about the place to begin with.

True, but they have failed.

Because they do NOT have "all things for all people"

They can't claim that title without adult content.

And as for the adults only section.
They could put up a simple "sellect your birth date" like "Jlist" does. It's not foolproof by any means.

All it would do it help protect them against law suits.
Because suing people for money is the only thing that anyone really cares about anymore, anyway.

That's not why they failed. Of course, no site can be everything for everyone, but the real reason they failed is that they mucked up everything they tried and abandoned the unique things they had. An "adult" section would not fix anything. Anyway, knowing the internet population, it wouldn't really be an "adult" section; it would be a juvenile section with pictures of naked people. And gaia is different from jlist; they have to be more careful because they are designed to attract a younger audience, and they've already had problems with age limits. A birthday thing wouldn't be enough. Like I said, you want porn? There's no lack of it everywhere else. There's already enough stuff on gaia that comes close enough.

Sadly porn is getting harder and harder to find these days.
(the good stuff anyway)

Most sites use some da** "hentai key" crap that you have to buy just to make an account anywhere.

Just another way for "the man" to label everyone as criminals and smudge everyones name into the mud.

you know I was only kidding about the porn, right? xp

You may have been, but I'm not.

This world sucks.
Can't do anything without the threat that someone will discriminate against you >.<
PostPosted: Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:11 pm
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay, stop right there. "Discrimination"? No. Not being able to find the specific porn you want or having to pay for it is NOT the same as discrimination. You're not being treated like a second-class citizen; you're getting the same treatment as everyone.

And having to pay for it? That's not the "man"; that's the porn purveyors (lol @ alliteration) trying to make a buck. It's free enterprise, baby.

Ty, you have to quit baiting him.

I guess he would one those would be perfectly fine if people decided that clothes are against nature and decided to walk around naked all the time, I guess canada would be one of the exceptions
PostPosted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 11:11 am
I'm not saying that not being able to find it, is discrimination.

I'm saying that having to register for it and put your life in the governments black book so they can label you as a possible sex offender, IS!!!

Just because someone likes porn does NOT mean that they're going to go out and rape everyone they want to!

Which is what this overparanoid a**-enistic society seems to be obssessed with thinking.

Again, that's NOT the government. That's the owners and producers trying to make money off of you. xp You know, doing the thing that YOU want to do?

And what the fudge is "a**-enistic"? confused

I don't mind registering for a free account.
And I know that it's the websites decision to have pay accounts.

What I hate is this... "18 U.S.C. Section 2257 Compliance"
Even on sites that don't have depictions of real people.
It's stupid and not far to have to announce what you like, like this.
They say it's a "way to catch those that post illegal material"
But what it is, is a "volunter to be treated like a criminal by the government" board.

And as for "a**-enistic" - I was saying "like an a**hole" without being completely as bad as one.

TYBAR: yes?
Can I help you?
(I don't like nachos)
