I'm a BME at University of Northern Colorado. I am a freshman string bassist, and although I am majoring in instrumental education at a high school level, I am only in the choir, singing alto 2, because of my battle with both tendonitis and fibromyalgia. I am still enjoying my experience. I have learned a lot in my music history class, and call me crazy but I love theory. I hope that I get to know you all better! "Basst" Wishes!
P.S. I know that was a lame joke, but what the hey if you can't make a lame music joke here, where can you? mrgreen

I'm a junior at the University of West Florida for my music performance (voice) bachelor's. I had my junior recital in October and have recently been looking at grad school, which is pretty terrifying, haha.

I'm an upcoming freshman at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. I'm a Music Education Major and I'm an oboist. I play a bunch of other things also and am in a drum corps(Music City Legend- G Bugle which is mellophone). I will be taking Class Piano 1, Theory 1, Aural Skills 1, Intro to Music Literature, Orchestra(or symphonic band),private lessons(of course), Marching Band-mellophone, Elements of Statistics-enhanced 3 credit class, APSU 1,000(which is the freshman class everyone has to take), and recital attendance(p/f)
I don't know what ensembles I will be in yet. I know I'll be in the double reeds for sure. I might be in wind ensemble also.
I'm super excited!

“ But if I know you, I know what you'll do. You'll love me at once-” I'll be graduating high school in five days with a year's worth of college classes completed thanks to the middle college program.
This fall I will be attending Hawai'i Pacific University. My audition was accepted, and thus I will be singing soprano in the International Vocal Ensemble.
At this point, I have no idea what classes I will be taking other than Introduction to Oceanography Field Techniques, Calculus I: Research and Epistemology, HPU IVE, CSCI, and Beginning Hula Performance. I still need at least one more class, and some of these classes are subject to change.
I am a marine biology major, participating in the choir because singing is my passion, and because the IVE will pay for half my tuition. :3

Hi! I'm about to be a sophomore music education major at The College of New Jersey. I play the trumpet and I also sing. I love all of my classes, especially my music history classes. One thing I'm having trouble with is keyboarding. I cannot play the piano to save my life!!! It's like my left hand wasn't meant to move like that! haha smile

What would you guys say is the best music college to go to if you want the best education for all parts of music, such as Technique, Music Theory, and Musicality? I'd say the one that I'm the most good at is the musicality side of music, cause I have a lot of passion and respect for it and believe that there's good in all music and that even if all the sound in the world were to go away there would still be music, because from what I learned, a simple definition for music is sound and silence organized in time, but everyone has their own opinion to what it is, so i'm not saying that's the only definition for it, if you think about, you can't really put a definition on it. Sorry to go off subject.

Sorry to go off subject. I don't think musicality can be taught since it's so personal (and part of what makes a single piece so unique is that a hundred people can play it a hundred times, and not one of those times will ever be exactly the same). I think it comes naturally and changes as one's senses and technique are refined to look for what makes us most comfortable.

I just completed my freshman year at the University of Tulsa majoring in piano performance. The classes were difficult at times but I loved them. It's amazing how much I didn't know how music theory before college. It's almost shameful but I have the basics down now and it's makes music so much more fascinating. I love it! The best part is taking from my piano professor though. He is the most incredible teacher and pianist and I'm so blessed to be able to learn from him. (:

I attend Lawrence Technological University. I major in Architecture, and there is no actual music program. As far as I know, there is only a Pep Band. But, damnit, I wanna play real grand stuff and not just the fanfare! Since all music related stuff is student run, I'm going to find a way to start a chamber group and a jazz band, though in doing so I will have erased all chances of obtaining sleep at all.
