You know I really don't think it's that way. First of all he was brainwashed and second he couldn't remember her.
It's just like in Fushigi Yuugi when Tamahome was slipped the curse which made her turn against Miaka. It wasn't his fault.
Also like KAito in Mermaid MElody when he lost his memory of her and came back with a different girl.
And like Toya in Ceres Celestial Legend when he got a false memory and forgot Aya and was brainwashed to think he loved some other girl.
You wouldn't call them sluts. It was none of their faults. They had no choice, but they finally turned back to normal and went back to the one they truely loved.

I thought of some of the characters as easily swayed, due in large part to the various events that happen throughout the series/manga. Memories lost, battles, unknown fates, and so on all have an effect.
Whatever the circumstances, I still enjoy the anime and manga.
