Good plan.
Well, if literary theories didn't make more sense to me than math, I probably would have picked the wrong major ^_~.
Well in practice I don't see that offtrack thing working at all, that is ridiculous, but in practice it makes sense. Assuming they are planning to make you finish whatever you are doing. Your school sounds too rigid to me, I liked the freedom to virtually do whatever I want at my own pace. I mean after 6 - 7 years I'm sure they'd throw you out, done or not. However if I wanted to dedicate a year to history and classics courses (which, save for a workshop or two in English, I totally did) I could.
Haha...oh total pun intended, I'm onto you!! Hehe, j/k, but yea, they REALLY can.
Birthday is August 4th...same as president Obama's - which is why he is the only president ever whose birthday I will always remember ^_^. It's also the same as the Sprouse twins, aka Zach and Cody - which randomly plays into what I think about whenever those two end up on TAS, birthday stealing twins!! Although it's also the reason I got morbidly curious enough to watch the show. So yea I still have half a year until my birthday, but I can usually be pretty patient about waiting for things - except for sequels. Though once the burn from finishing one book wears off I can usually hold out through the wait for the next book in that regard as well.
I think I'm usually drawn to extremely rational, and/or angry/unemotional characters, those who can't cope with their own feelings but tend to suffer in silence. Characters who are arrogant, yet usually willing to sacrifice themselves because on some level they are self-loathing, or don't feel as worthy as a certain loved one. With villains, usually it's simple viciousness and cool calculation that attracts me. Characters like Seto, Yami no Bakura, Kyouya (OHC), Kaoru (OHC) Ed (FMA), Roy (FMA), Soubi (Loveless) would be examples - obviously none fit into ALL of that, but they all fit into at least one aspect of that. I also tend to like characters that are a tad ersatz, flamboyant, yet obviously more aware and controlled than what they let on. People that seem to wear two faces. Like Pegasus...^_^. Given things that attract me, it's rarely "good guys" that I end up liking, and usually good guys I like it's over time after a lot of different things. Seto I liked right away, Jou I didn't like for a very long time, I had to learn more to like him, he didn't have any instant attractors.
Yea...totally ripping on TAS, but, that's what parody series are for right? ^_~.
I could probably get along with that group, still wouldn't be the people I'm closest with though. Not any potential for fire or conflict. More reflective of the circles of friends I keep, I'd end up with Jounouchi, Anzu, Otogi, Bakura, Honda. Taking out Yuugi and Yami no Yuugi removes centering from the group, and throwing in Otogi adds more competitive power play. Shizuka might be around too, but she wouldn't be central to the group, which means obviously I'm just saying her personality type rather than her specifically as Jou's sister. I have friends who are friends with their siblings, but I don't have any who have that kind of protective relationship with them. They are all more equals to the groups. Like say, I doubt Jou would be ok with hearing that a sex life even existed for Shizuka, she'd have to keep up too many fronts for her brother, I'm not used to that with friends. I'm used to brass and blunt, which is why in spite of Anzu annoying me as a character, she's more likely the kind of person I'd be friends with. Even if I'd have to quell a cheesy speech or two ^_~.
Btw...assuming you'll get to the TAS thread again before this to know what I'm talking about...I actually have been listening to Blind Panic...no love, but it's alright as background noise...^_~. If you are here first, well, go to TAS... razz

Yeah, my school is super strict on following plans. As Freshmen and Sophomores we are not even allowed to register for classes for the next semester until we see an adviser and get advice on what classes to take next. You pretty much have to take all classes they choose for you until you're an upperclassmen, and even then it's still strict. The most freedom I get is deciding if I'm going to take Drawing II or Life Drawing I for my 2-Dimensional 200 level art class. Actually, I really didn't intend the pun, but noticed it right after I typed it. XD Oh, that is funny. Especially since my sister's birthday is August 5th. Your birthday shall be far more celebrated in my head though. Yeah, there ya go. XD Rational/unemotional characters tend to be a lot less common, usually only having one or two per anime, so it makes sense that you wouldn't so easily fall in love with so many characters. Haha, I would love to see the look on Jounouchi's face if he found out his sister was sleeping with someone. And I do gotta admit, that is pretty much the only thing about Silentshipping that amuses me, thinking about Jounouchi's reaction to it. Hate the pairing, but it would almost seem worth it because of how much Jounouchi would freak out if he found out his sister was with the guy he hated so much. XD I don't think I would get along too well with Anzu though. I hate being mothered, and I hate people trying to decide my morals for me. I know she's a good friend, and only does what she feels is best for others, and I respect that and am fine with that being in her character (it works to support other characters a lot of times in the series), but I am pretty easily insulted if people tell me I'm living my life wrong. I feel I am strict enough on myself about being a good student/friend/daughter/person, so I don't need anymore 'advice' about that from other people. And yes, I had been to the Abridged thread earlier, and laughed about that. XD Glad their music isn't horrible.

How big is your school? Because at my school most people didn't even see their advisers, ever. You could find out your major requirements online, so unless someone had a specific question or needed something signed off, a lot didn't go to their advisers. I saw the design adviser at the end of Freshmen year once, to find out what I needed to do to get into that major, because that one is a bit tricky as far as registration goes. After that it wasn't until I went in to officially declare English (never officially declared anything else, didn't finish enough Design classes to declare the major before I'd decided I didn't want to do it anymore anyhow) junior year. I went in one other time to (a) talk about finishing my emphasis (creative writing) - I'd figured and done most of it on my own and (b) replacing a course requirement with a different course so I could graduate on time and still take everything I wanted to take.
However, my university had 35,000+ undergrads, so I don't even think they could handle it if the majority of students decided to see their advisers on a regular basis. And again, exempting certain majors (like Design) you pretty much just needed to follow course outlines at whatever pace and in whatever order you wish, and can take other misc courses/minors at your own luxury around that.
Hey, my brother's birthday is December 5th...siblings born on the 5th...idk, means nothing, hahaha. When's your birthday?
Yea, I don't think you could have a lot of those type of characters in the majority of animes, nor would I want them. Even with only a few per series I still have plenty of loves ^_~.
Yea Silentshipping definitely doesn't do it for me, but I do agree the reaction would at least be funny.
Hahaha, the way you described Anzu in theory describes someone I also wouldn't like/treatment I couldn't stand. However, it also describes a large part of several good friends I have, and yes, they drive me up a wall and inadvertently make me feel awful over and over again (but like you said, they are only doing what they thought was best). I think maybe this is why I dislike Anzu, I place the blame for things that I dislike about certain friends onto her. Sometimes though, I do like being mothered, and I hate hate hate to admit it, but, I guess I just don't feel loved very often. As irritating as it is, it feels like love, and for that reason I can't help liking it...~_~.

I believe we're currently sitting at about 55,000 undergrads... so I have no idea how they pull off advising that many. But we actually have to declare our major right as we're starting out... well, except for art and music students; we have to unofficially declare our major, then around sophomore year can submit a portfolio/performance/whatever to try to officially get into the program. I'm submitting my portfolio in March and I'm so scared. ;_; We do have major maps online to tell us what courses we need to take, but they are very strict, as in "take these courses this semester, those courses that semester, etc." and even at that they feel we're too idiotic to plan our schedules without an adviser the first two years. My birthday's November 17. XD It would be quite overwhelming to have a bunch of 'Kaiba's in every anime series, eh? XD Oh, I see. Well that does make sense. Can't say I feel the same way though. Thankfully none of my friends are like that; most motherly thing they ever do is offer to bring soup or tea if I'm sick, that kind of thing. Which to me is just right. It shows the love and care that friends can have for each other, without the nagging. We all try to respect each others' space, so we let each other live our own lives. I really do think you're very loved though, and don't need to be nagged to know that. XD;;

That is rather insane...I mean pretty much the only people who have to continually see advisers and get locked into tracks are engineering majors. And you could apply undeclared or exploratory as well (exploratory does not mean wanting to be an explorer, haha, get that all the time. It just means undeclared in the College of Agg rather than Letters and Sciences).
Ahh...Scorpio then, I've got friends with Nov 15th and 16th birthdays...I almost have a straight ^_~.
It would be VERY overwhelming, and I possibly wouldn't like them as much, against each other they'd definitely be at their worst I'm sure.
I've got a bunch of know-it-alls for friends. Hahaha. But I managed to somehow end up loving them, and in spite of the frustration and heartache, I honestly wouldn't change that for anything. Besides, I won't lie, I love to argue, and they definitely fuel that passion well ^_~.

Sounds way more open-ended. I rather dislike my school... ~_~;; Yup, though I don't feel I'm super Scorpio-ish. ^^ That's pretty funny; bet all three of us are Valentine's babies. XP I am quite saddened though, because I'm a Nintendo fangirl, and yet the PS3 ended up coming out on my birthday, while the Wii came out a day later... so I share a birthday with the PS3 instead, and I was so close to the Wii... D: It's like the real Kaiba arguing with the fake Kaiba in the chatroom roleplay. XD I used to like arguing as well, but didn't have any friends who liked it like I did, so was kind of turned off to it after hurting too many feelings. I don't really care for arguing myself so much anymore though; I get uncomfortable and worry about upsetting people, but sometimes old sparks come back and I get into it again, especially if someone is really acting like an idiot. XD;;

Aww...well maybe you can go to a better school for a postgrad degree!
Hmm...never thought about November being Valentines babies, haha, guess so though ^_~. I do have a rather high number of Scorpio friends. Though I also have a rather high number of Aries/Gemini/Cancer/Leo friends. Makes sense though, people snuggling up in the cold winter months ^_~. I was just thinking how I have very few Capricorn/Aquarius/Pisces friends (because I am not having to remember to say happy birthday/make a card/buy a gift/etc etc very often now) and it makes sense. Whose snuggling up late spring into summer? Too warm! Haha, aww, and me I'm 100% Playstation, so I'd have loved that! Granted still don't have a PS3, all the games I'm into thus far keep coming out for PS2.
Haha, yes, only worse because neither would be "fake" and would thus have no need to take a break and live their own life.
Yea, I'm just a fan of debate, so I do kind of like that I have a lot of friends who are hotheaded, but intellectual about it. It can be really stimulating. Sometimes it gets angry, but for the most part in can just be mentally motivating.

I hope to. ^^ What's strange though is almost all my friends are born in spring. Like five of them are within March and April, and two share a birthday. I never could figure out what would cause so many people to be born at that time though. o.o Two of my older friends who were sisters were also born in April, and they were exactly three years apart, to the day, and what was even weirder is that they were born at the exact same time, except one AM and one PM. Though I will give PS3 that it has one game exclusive to it that almost makes it worth buying one: Little Big Planet. *happy sigh* Yeah, I was never angry about debating; I enjoyed it, but other people didn't see it that way, so I stopped.

I have more March and April friends as well, but that's bleeding out the end of summer into fall, a lot of people also tend to get married then (August/Sept), it's getting to be orange and pretty without being hot. Well, here, don't know about the dessert ^_~. That sister situation is kind of eerie though. Maybe your friends parents are just really gung ho about Labor Day ^_~.
Hahaha, I haven't played LBP, watched my friends husband play a bit of it though, does look kind of cute.

Nah, it's still really hot during August and September here; August is like the second-hottest month of the year. We don't have many trees that turn orange, and the ones that do usually don't until around November or December. Little Big Planet is adorable, and ohhh so much fun. Especially when you have four people running through it together like a bunch of little sack boy retards. <3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN5TYzKkQuQ

I'm really not sure myself. Probably the whole manifest destiny crap America had going. We had to take everything from the natives, even the horrible desert land! It is really cute. =D And it has this narrator with this happy, calming voice (kind of sounds like an ultra-cheery dub Bakura) who just tells you how to play and says the best subtle humor comments. <3

How did I miss replying to this?! Fail Gail! (rhymes...one of the many reasons I dislike my first name, hehe, fails not even the worst).
Haha, apparently. And the only way to keep the grubby native hands from taking it back, make more idiots to take over!!! This is making me think of that Ana Johnson song, We Are I think it's called? Just that line, we've never been so many, and we've never been so alone.
Aww, that sounds cute...well maybe I'll have to take over my friend's husbands PS3 someday. Going to their new house next Sunday for le Superbowl (ok not really into football, but I do try to be social and normal sometimes razz ), maybe I can sneak off with the PS3 and the game while they are rooting for...whoever is playing. Whatever, it's not MY job to know whose playing ^_~.

Yea it is, and it bores me, but at least it's not overly common. Although the only other Gail I know (a 40 something year old swim team mom) spells her name the same as I do, nobody ever gets my name right. So I presume the rest of the Gail's running around their are really Gayle's (and maybe a Gale - though that's technically both a wind and a male spelling - or Gaile or two). I tend to like longer names, because I like nicknames, I even kind of like Abigail, I find Abby cute. However my mom hates the nickname Abby. The only thing I do like is that my initials are GEM, which is kind of cool.
At least it's not Christine/Christina - I know about two dozen of those. And a half dozen or so Katie's a swell.
Well, I doubt I'll be successful, but if somehow I am I'd definitely start a new game...^_^.
