- Sharon pulling out of the Gaza strip and the west bank.
- Arafat's death.
- Gas price increase. <<; (But somehow the USA is still paying less for petroleum than Canada.)
- Increase in mining accidents in China.
- Viking scandals (Minnesota Vikings; American football).
