I'm actually quite content knowing that in all likelihood I'll never be in a situation forcing me to make such a "omgz morality human nature" decision. I hate even talking about those situations because it's just flat out uncomfortable. Besides, I firmly believe no one really knows exactly what they'll decide until they're in that nasty dilemma.

To heck with allegince. Forcing you to do their dirtywork by threatening the life of someone you care about is more affective. Besides if you 2 are kept separate by a even a few miles, then there's nothing you could do to save them, especially if there's a guard there at all time just waiting for you to do something wrong. Compared to that, a single person, is nothing.

Honour doesn't get you jack-crap in this world.
Most people only care about money and power.
And those that think differently, are usually the ones getting stepped on all the D*** time.
Honour means nothing to anyone else.

You're in the military right?
You've had honour crammed down your throat everyday from the start, like it's the best thing in the world. But if this were trully true, then your superiors wouldn't be sitting on their fat a**es all day getting fatter and richer, off of your hard work. Taking credit for your good actions. There is no honour in any government agency or organization. If it meant that your superiors would be rewarded with a higher rank or a bigger paycheck, then they would have you "taken out of the picture" by any means neccessary. Having anything to do with any part of any government, puts you and everyone you know at risk, because all of them are untrustworthy from start to finish.

If you find this insulting, then I'm sorry.
But from what I've seen, this is how the world is.

If you don't believe me about how untrustworthy governments can be? You should read the story of one poor military guy that was forced to take a paycut and a demotion AND had all his electronic devices confiscated AND his computer reformatted.
WHY? Because of ONE anime desktop picture.
Not even a hentai, just a normal anime TV show.

Now I don't know about you, but any government that PERSECUTES it's own people simply over personal interests, are the lowest scumbags on the planet. A pitty that every government is like that is some way or another.

if all your worried about is someone doing the dirty work, then why don't you just hire someone to do it. its alot cheaper and easier than kidnapping someone and hidding them.

No Im not military, honor is what I choose even before I became a cadet. Just because the world has abandon honor, doesn't mean I have to.

Plus military is not like what you just describe, that sounds more like conspiracy theoriest and they just as reliable as tabloid. I deal with military ppl on a daily bases and if you can't trust youself or comrads to do their job then someone will die, so they beat that into your head from the beginning. The Military is very regulated, if someone is not doing their job or doing their job then someone will know.

No I don't find it insulting, b/c civilians rarely know what is going on in the military and sometimes the media gets only partial information b/c if they gave out all the info then it could leak to the enemy. What pisses me off is media tries to fill in that info and fail miserably. Which can lead to a negative light being shown on the military when they are trying to protect our soldiers.
