And yes, TV is slowly becoming more violent and sexual, and although it can (and probably does) influence children (whose parents can't or won't watch them) badly, I still must ask... If I want to see something that's not "edited for children", where the h*l* am I suppose to get it? (the original version that is)

I'm just saying that... just because there are indeed alot of kids in the world... doesn't mean that every bit of our entertainment has to be for them. (why does the adult entertainment industry have to hide their products, while kids crap is EVERYWHERE?)

You know, you used to love that "kids crap." Some of the stuff you still like used to be kids crap. xd There's just a new generation now.

The adult entertainment industry has to hide so as not to force themselves on kids whose parents would rather they not see that stuff. For a lot of it, I tend to agree, just because the porn industry is unrealistic and warps the viewer's perspective. There's enough sex and violence that has leeched into everything already.

I could ask you a similar question: Does everything have to be made for the sex addict? As tired as you may be of "kids stuff", I get pretty tired of having to overlook unnecessary and unwanted sexual imagery and violence in stuff I otherwise enjoy. Just sayin'.

Youth entertainment is everywhere because it can generally be enjoyed by everyone. The more adult stuff cannot. Not every adult likes overly sexual themes, or violence. I can't stand the sexualization of almost everything in media today and the violence is becoming numbing.

I find it kinda funny when I see gamers and movie buffs complain about kiddy material. I'm like, really? Cuz now that we're adults we can't enjoy lighter entertainment?

You asked where you could get the stuff you want. Online. And about shows being "hidden", well, very sexual or violent shows being kept to later time slots is usually how stuff is done on television and the truly grotesque (visually or themed) is rightfully kept in a form you should purchase for your own private viewing.

Porn's actually putting me off now. xp I've been considering permanently weening myself off it.

Exactly! Some of my favorite books and movies are considered "kid stuff." Being labeled YA or something like that doesn't mean it's been dumbed down or even censored necessarily. I'm always saying, not everything has to be about sex. You want it that way? Find stuff that fits your choices; leave the rest of it for the rest of us.

Both actually. I've become very aware of the small ways in which exposure to porn has affected me and I don't like it. Of course, porn is all really the same anyway and I've grown to dislike the impersonal, animalistic, fake nature of it.

But it feels like an addiction no matter how often you watch it; the thought of abandoning it completely feels like it'd be the hardest thing to do! lol

I just wish there was a place I could go to get a list of titles of all adult entertainment. Just so I would know what I am and am not missing. (Of course I fell the same about alot of things, there should be a "world-wide database" of everything ever made) ^.^

And finding japanese yugioh cards, even online, is harder then you think. Especially if your trying to collect entire booster sets. (or find all the rare ones) I can't even find complete lists. And no, the english lists aren't the same.

The internet sadly does NOT have everything you could want.

Iakun: Yeah, I went through a porn phase a looooooooong time ago and noticed the same thing. After going through it, I also notice the little icky ways in which it affects other people, so I can always tell who has a collection and who doesn't. xd It's like porn-dar.

It is really impersonal, isn't it? After a while, you realize it has no meaning. Of course, if you're not feeling the need for meaning at a given time, it serves a purpose (just so I don't offend the porn hounds here).

Believe it or not, I know what you're talking about. Dumping the small collection I had so many years ago felt like turning my back on a part of my life. But I realized that it would always be there in my head (for good or bad), and it wasn't important to me anymore. Once you take the first step, it's really quite easy to finish it. You just have to sever the connection and remind yourself why you're quitting. It's awesomely freeing. surprised And there's nothing to stop you from enjoying it every now and then. In fact, if you have to wean yourself off of it, there's no shame in it.
