Asmodeus Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked, The demon held a stern face as the angel applied the salve to his wounds. It burned, but at least it would heal fully now. Though he estimated it would take a day. When she finished, he remained sitting on the floor before focusing back on the book he was looking at earlier. Searching through its pages when she returned, he raised a brow, glancing up at the woman. "You must be heavily educated, if you were caged like a bird most of your life. I need you to read this to me," he said. Holding up the book to her, he frowned. It was written in the common tongue, English, but Asmodeus wasn't about to openly admit that he was illiterate.
"It belonged to Ashur when he was alive. That's all I know about it. A journal, maybe," he said softly. "I've been with Ashur as far as I can remember. But I don't know why, and he won't say anything." At this point, his emerald eye began to glow. Covering his left eye with a hand, he scowled. "Ashur has been more then helpful, but it just ain't normal!" he growled. Asmodeus seemed quite upset with the issue, but mostly at the lack of knowledge of it.
The book itself was a personal journal of Ashur's, dating back to when he was still alive and living in Heaven as a healer, several decades ago. But he was then dragged into a small conflict, and was brought to Hell to help the angels.

"Yes, I was," Eli admitted. She took the book into her hands. She raised an eyebrow, looking as Asmodeus. It was in English, and he couldn't read it? She nearly dropped the book as he said it was Ashur's. "I can't read something so private!" She looked down at it, trying to avoid the text. It was most defiantly a journal. She chewed on her lip, a bad habit she had pick up. "Are you sure it's okay with him?" She asked, nervously.
Eli couldn't say she wasn't interested but she didn't want to look through someone's personal thing unless she was sure it was okay with them. Eli wondered about this whole situation. It was really weird. She was on Earth, with a demon, and a spirit of an angel. It was rather odd to her, she couldn't get out of the mindset that she was still trapped and had to listen like a good girl.

Asmodeus Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked, He scowled at the initial look she gave him. "Don't you judge me, angel. Reading and writing isn't very high on a demon's list of things to do, y'know. That sort of filth is reserved for the major spell casters in Hell. I just hit things till they die," he said rather defensively. Folding his arms across his chest in a childlike manner, he frowned. The demon only shrugged when she asked if Ashur was okay with it. "Quite frankly, I don't care. What is it with you angels? It's not like you're opening Pandora's Box or anything," Asmodeus said.
It was clear that he would not accept 'no' for an answer. Also, her goody-good attitude was starting to get on his nerves. Waving his hand in a matter of fact manner, he smirked. "If he asks, we'll just say I threatened to hurt you. Which I will do if you don't cooperate anyways. Heck, I might even do it if I get bored," he openly admitted.

Ashur Good? Evil? Don't be daft; those are just mere words. "He's right, you know," said the spirit quietly. "Most demons are too impatient to deal with that sort of thing. Oral communication is faster, more effective, according to their beliefs," Ashur added, as he appeared, sitting in a chair. He seemed awfully calm about them going through his journal. Smiling lightly at Eli, he nodded. "I do not mind if you read it to him. It's best if a third party were to do so, anyways. Asmodeus would not believe a word of it had I told him myself."
Halfway into the journal, the entries started to talk about Ashur's first experience in Hell. How he had tried to aide the angels there, and ended up becoming trapped and on the run. They had failed to kill Debrak, and the few surviving angels were scattered across the wasteland. Most of those entries were pretty grim. After a week of hiding, the journal mentioned a new name, 'Loth,' a female demon who had recently given birth, and was searching for her child.
You know it in your heart, what you should and shouldn't be doing. [[Basically, it logs both mundane and important parts of Ashur's life. Asmodeus is interested in how Ashur 'bound' himself to the demon. For now, Eli can go over some entries about Ashur's life in heaven, or his first few days in Hell. Feel free to get as creative as you please. Just keep in mind that Ashur was a healer.]]

Eli glanced from Ashur to Asmodeus, She opened to a random page and begun to read. "'December 3rd: I was to learn that I would be going on the mission to kill Debrak. To leave Heaven and go to that wasteland is something none of us are looking forward to do, but orders must be obeyed.' 'December 6th: I've been busy preparing for the journey. Packing things I may need to help heal various injuries. I learned we are to leave in a week's time.' 'December 12th: The day before I leave Heaven. I can't help but feel a little reluctance. I went and visited my favorite spots, hopefully it won't be the last time I see them.' 'December 15th: We have failed. Debrak is alive. The others have scattered. I don't have much time to write. The demons are are coming. How sure we were it was possible? How were we suppose to know those things guarding him? I tried to save them. But the things stabbed through their hearts. There is no hope for any of us. We have no way to get ba-' 'December--: Is it even still December? This I do not know. I have lost track of how many days I have been running.' December 30th: Today I met one of them. She says her name is Loth. She has recently given birth, yet she was searching for her child. Who is her child? I do not know, she just smiles sadly when I ask. She told me the date, and tried to share her little food with me. I refused, instead helped her with her wounds. Why? I do not know myself. I fear I may be losing some of my sanity,'"
Eli looked over at Ashur. "This is horrible! I've never heard of anything like a plot to kill Debrak. Did authorities just give up on you guys? I'm sorry, I can't read anymore right now," she said. Eli handed the journal to Asmodeus. To tell the truth she wanted to stop several times before the December 30th entry. She also wanted to ask Ashur more questions. Like why would Heaven hide the fact there was a plot to kill Debrak. Or who was this Loth.

Ashur Good? Evil? Don't be daft; those are just mere words. Ashur seemed unfazed by his memories as they resurfaced; providing visual and audio flashbacks that coincided with Elizabeth's readings. Hell was still vivid in his mind, though the sight no longer scared him. He was already dead, after all. The spirit tried not to think about the dying expressions of his friends. And as the girl read the entry for December 30th, another face surfaced through his muddled thoughts. She was beautiful, even with her crimson eyes and pointed ears. One attribute he recalled very clearly was the color of her hair. Ashur had always thought it was odd, that a demon would have hair as white as snow.
When she asked him if they were just abandoned, Ashur smiled weakly. "It was a high-risk, high-reward mission. We all knew what was at stake. If anyone learned of our failure, it would only put more fear into those who heard the name Debrak.. Our fate is sad, but no doubt the lesser of the two evils.." he said softly. He did not object to the girl stopping her reading. It was quite a bit to take in, for an angel so young and sheltered after all. He saw that Asmodeus was about to protest though, and cut him off before the demon could say anything. "She can continue when she feels more comfortable about the topic," he said with a stern tone.
You know it in your heart, what you should and shouldn't be doing. [[Oh, I don't mind long posts. ^__^ If you wish to write more, feel free to. Will reply with Asmodeus later.]]

Asmodeus Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked, The plot to kill Debrak wasn't really news to Asmodeus. The incident was almost regarded as a holiday, to commemorate Heaven's failure. As for who this 'Loth' woman was, he had no clue. The demon had never heard of that name before, and assumed it was someone insignificant. "Tch, sounds like her lover took the kid," he said flatly. "That's pretty common in Hell, for the father to raise any children. Either that, or the kiddo died somewhere?" In all honesty he wasn't trying to be helpful, though he was somewhat curious himself. That demoness must have been desperate if she was willing to work with an angel. Such a thing was thought of as betrayal to his kind! It was truly a grim reminder of why he kept Ashur a secret from the other demons..
Getting visually upset when he was handed Ashur's journal back, he tried to object, but to no avail. The spirit had told him to let it go. Clenching his teeth for several seconds, the demon then rolled his eyes before getting up and going to the kitchen. He hadn't had anything to eat today so far. And while human food couldn't even come close to his favorite cuisines from Hell, it would have to do. His back was still sore from the large claw marks, but the salve that he had Eli rub on his wounds was definitely helping. After wolfing down an uncooked porkchop, the demon wondered into one of the two bedrooms before laying face down on the mattress. "Ugh.. If I find out Ashur lets her run off, I swear to Satan that I'll kill them both," he muttered as he drifted off to sleep.

Eli watched as Asmodeus went into the kitchen and eat, then walked into a room. She assumed since he was being quiet, that he had gone to sleep. She wondered if he had made him angry by refusing to read more. The more she heard of the things in Hell, the less she wanted to even by near it. She kind of wished she was back home, where at least her biggest worry was when she was going get to sneak out again. Eli snapped out of her thoughts, and noticed Ashur was still there. She hoped she hadn't spaced out too much.
"Um, do you mind if I go to bed now? I've had a very long day, obviously," Eli asked Ashur. She stretched out her arms, and stood there. She didn't want to do something she wasn't suppose to do. After all, she was at their mercy. She did have to admit, Ashur seemed to be the nicer of the two. Asmodeus kind of scared he, a little bit.

Ashur Good? Evil? Don't be daft; those are just mere words. Ashur wasn't at all surprised when Asmodeus stormed off. He could hear the demon rummaging through the fridge and complaining, but the spirit hardly seemed worried. Turning his gaze back to Eli, he wondered vaguely on what was going through her mind. Not many angels could say that they had been kidnapped by a demon and lived to tell about it. Then again, this wasn't a very normal circumstance to begin with. When the light of recognition appeared in the girl's eyes, Ashur nodded his head politely at the female's request. "Of course," he said. "You can find your room down the hall, across from Asmodeus'. I'm afraid that it might not be anything like what you may be used to, but it will have to do."
Rising from his seat, he moved towards the hallway before gesturing to which door she should open. It was fine with him that she wanted to rest. He too was feeling a little drained from the day's events. "If you find yourself needing anything, just wake Asmodeus up. Have a good rest," said the spirit, as he walked through the door leading to Asmodeus' room.
You know it in your heart, what you should and shouldn't be doing. [[Alright, will do.]]

Asmodeus Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked, The sun was already well on its way to climbing to the top of the sky when Asmodeus literally rolled out of bed. In his efforts to escape the sunlight glaring in through the windows, he had tried to turn away, but ended up on his back on the floor instead. Almost instantly he flopped on his stomach with a startled cry of pain, gently rubbing his back. Thanks to Ashur's help, the cuts had sealed, but the area was still very tender. Growling at his misfortune, he rubbed his eyes wearily before slapping the nightstand in search for the clock. Pulling it down, he squinted at the time. It read 11:36am. Forcing himself to sit up, he placed the clock back where he had found it while letting out a big yawn.
He couldn't hear anything moving around outside, nor was Ashur in a panic, so he assumed that his hostage was still nearby. Somewhere. Hauling his tired body to its feet, he stumbled towards the door, rubbing a hand over his face. "Wonder what the little birdy's up to this morning," he mumbled. "Better be making herself useful, or at least stay quiet for the rest of the day.."

Asmodeus Oh no, there ain't no rest for the wicked, He didn't bother to put a shirt on before leaving his room. Mostly because he didn't see any point in being polite to a hostage. Stifling a yawn as he moved into the living room, he raised a brow when he saw the angel. It looked to him like she was waiting for something. "What do you want?" he asked bluntly. At least for now, she stopped complaining about being kidnapped. If it was one thing he couldn't tolerate, it was a noisy captive. Thankfully though Eli had been obedient thus far. With an incoherent grumble, he moved past her before drawing the curtains over the glass door leading to the balcony.
As if to echo the angel's own thoughts, his stomach growled in protest of any more movement. Thinking that Eli was starting to feel hungry as well, he glanced at the girl before speaking. "I suppose you have to eat too, huh? Hm.. Get in the kitchen then and pick something. Don't expect me to hand feed you, either." Asmodeus moved into the kitchen then, unsure of what to eat himself. Rubbing his chin with a thoughtful expression, he paused for a moment to reflect on something. 'We have a long day ahead of us.. So we might as well eat good...' Raising his voice, he called out to Eli. "Hey angel! Change of plans. Get in here and make something for the both of us."
