	Yes, that's true, but that's why it's in a tight vial. And it's only the vapor that is poisonous...

	Kenton Alkemi Wouldn't you get mercury poisoning if you touched the stuff with your bare hands...? No it's only if you inhale the vapors that it actually hurts you. Mercury is somewhat volatile and vaporises if you handle it... In theory you could use also a salt solution, and the metal ions are transformed into silver ions...but then you have to find a way to add electrons to make the metal neutral and crystallize into the right shape, and also, the metal has to be immiscible in the remaining mixture...

	Can't you do something with a... wossname... redox reaction? For example, take a stick of base metal for the other metal ions to build up on. It's like those battery experiments we had to do, where all the ions bult up on a small shet of zinc or something.
