"You act like I can't handle my own man," Tom rolled his head and eyes around, then shot a quick glare at the bomb nuts to remind them he was still watching.
"Besides, what could your little idiot possibly have done that's so damaging and important that you can't take him out of my hands and let me get back to MY job?" He asked as he began to look around the the some-what empty store. All seemed right and well. No massive holes compromising the safety and security of Macy's.
"I don't even see anything!"
"Would you stop complaining for once in your life and just do as your told for once!" James tried to yell and sound authoritative, but his voice came out with too much of a whine as he was giving up hope on Alan. The man was absolutely impossible to deal with, even for him!
Come on, James. Keep it together. He sighed to himself as he drew closer to the ice cream shop. Stay focused now. James began to tremble with fear as he stood at the entrance of the sweet shop. What if there were infected people in there? He had developed such a phobia for the infected that just the thought of encountering them scared him out of his mind. Where was he suppose to hide if things went wrong? At least at base he had a storage room full of weapons and ammo. All this place would have is a kitchen and a freezer.
"...H-Hello?" James' voice whimpered as he took the first step inside, eyes darting around for any signs of life - living or undead. "H-Hello? Any.. Anybody in here?"
---
"Hm.." Hanna let go of the animal in her arms and began to dig through the pile she sat on for a moment, and eventually pulled out a stuffed tiger. She stared at it, contemplating her name with the toy in her hands.
"Nah," the tiger was tossed aside. "Too boring."

"I thought you and I agreed that we're the only ones allowed in the basement, Jackson?" Tom asked with a slightly hurt tone of voice. "How the Hell did.. Wait, ketchup packets and fire crackers?" He was quiet for a few moments, then bursted in laughter.
As he was lead away, John watched his CO curiously - and with some amusement - as the man was roaring with laughter at Dexter's latest accident.
"Child's play." He snorted, finally giving in and following the other bomb-nut's lead.
After he regained some control of himself, Tom snickered into the radio, "That's.. That's an easy one really. You really want to know how he did it?"
"Bah!" James jumped and cried out as a woman suddenly spun out into view. His gun was immediately up and aimed toward her, but before he could even make himself look threatening as he was pulled closer toward her.
"Oh God, no please don't eat me." He whimpered in complete defeat, trembling in fear. He stood there in silence with his eyes shut tight, praying and hope that if this was his end it would be swift and painless, and he wouldn't come back as a living freaking corpse to eat his ex-brothers in arms. When nothing happened to him though, James slowly opened his eyes and was a bit surprised to still see himself alive and the woman not even attempting to eat his flesh.
"You're.. I'm..." He stammered, struggling to compose himself and speak proper English through the adrenaline pumping madly through his system.
"...I... You... I think so?"
---
Hanna looked at Ian quizzically, "Mantis.. P.. Po.. I can't say that." She frowned in defeat, "I don't like that name."
There was two bangs on the door, and Hanna almost jumped out of the toy pile and looked at door with terror. Were infected trying to break in? They never gave her or her brother any problems - not since they changed - but they were still gross and icky. Sometimes the weird infected ones got overly curious and spent a lot of time around Hanna and Ian, much to her discomfort.
There was also the chance it was a human too - which was confirmed when the knocker intelligently spoke to them. Humans were always nice to see, but Hanna would have to act 'normal' then. So much time would be wasted, hiding her new inhuman features just so somebody wouldn't shoot her for being somewhere in the middle of alive and dead.
"...Ian.." She quietly whimpered, clinging her hands tightly on his arm.

Erissa raised her eyebrow, "I can see you didn't get out much, and i'm not a zombie" she said, sighing as he started to freak out. She then looked over the corner again and it appeared to be clear, "just so you know, your not very threatening looking... your kind of... whats the right word... oh, your kind of girly... I mean the way you jumped just because I touched you" she said, laughing slightly. She then sighed, "alright i'll ask again, are... you... with... anyone... else?" she asked, as if he couldn't hear. She waited for his answer and could clearly see he wasn't fit for this kind of conflict. She also wondered if there were others, were the in the Macy's? It would make sense since she did see movement from over there earlier.

Despite the seriousness of the insubordination and mess that it had caused, Tom couldn't help but grin and snicker at Dexter's creativity and stealth. It was near impossible at times to get John to be quiet (with his actions, not words of course) and sneak during missions. The Specialist took pride in his work, and showed such pride by being loud about it - or just making the explosion unnecessarily loud.
"And I suppose you're going to let him slide this time too, huh?" He chuckled, thinking of all the ways he'd punish Dexter if he were under his command. It was the only way he had John under control - lots and lots of threats of various punishments.
"But... I... What?" The Private's voice stammered and whimpered, his ego wounded by the strange girl's words, though there hadn't been much to wound anyway. He couldn't help himself though. The infected scared the holy living daylights out of him, with how they literally eat everyone and every part of a human being and..
"Are... You... With... Anyone... Else?"
James looked at her with lost eyes as the question took a few moments to settle into his panicking brain. "Y-Yeah. Y-Yeah, I-I'm part of a group. We're, uh... We're at the Macy's store, and uh, I'm on recon right now with somebody." He fidgeted in his spot, trying to make himself appear like a brave soldier as Tom's voice was currently yelling at him to stand straight and get tough.
"We, uh.. I can take you there... If you want! I won't force you, but we'd really prefer if you stay. More survivors means more strength, and uh..." He looked down at his rifle, awkwardly moving it around so the barrel wasn't pointed at the girl in front of him.
"Ian wait!" Hanna reached out and grabbed one of her brother's hands with both of her's, and held on as tightly as she could. "Ian, its a human." She tugged on his hand, trying to pull him back towards her. "They really like us, remember?"

"Ah, ******** you too, jackass!" Tom growled, turning around to face John and Dexter once more, only to find them no longer there with him. His stomach dropped like a stone with worry as he quickly glanced around, finding them no where.
"...John?" There was no response, and a lump formed in his throat.
"Uh, uh, guys...." He stammered in the radio, still desperately looking around for the bomb nuts and having no luck. "Guys. CODE RED! WE HAVE A CODE RED!!"
"Doctor?" James lit up, a smile forming on his face quickly. A doctor, while not needed at the moment, was always a great thing to have in a group. Especially with John and Dexter. James couldn't even begin to recount how many injuries he suffered alone from their antics.
He quickly nodded to Erissa in agreement to head out, and motioned his gun towards the direction they needed to head to get back to Macy's.
"I was trying to do that thing you do all the time." Hanna pouted as she struggled to think of the word, and how to pronounce it right.
"Sar... Sarcar?" It sounded right, so she went with it. "I was trying to be sarcar, like you!"

Tom flinched and almost dropped his radio, and Jeff looked over as even he heard all the shouting at the main entrance. "Doesn't matter what I did or didn't do." Tom barked in reply, keeping the radio far from his ears. "We have situation men, and we need to huddle up and fix it!"
James frowned at Erissa as he rose up his gun to show he was armed. "I shoot the infected now. I don't cower." Although what I did earlier really doesn't help disprove that. He thought with a sigh. Trying his best not to bump her, James moved forward and took a look around the shop for himself, and out the exits to make sure nothing was creeping around. When it all seemed clear, he went for the door and started to look around once more, just to be sure.
"Hm?" He looked back at Erissa, hearing her ask for his name, which surprised. How could have forgotten to share names? "S-Sorry," he nervously laughed, scratching at the back of his hand. "Call me James, Erissa." He pushed the door open slowly. "And I'm not short..."
"Not really." Hanna frowned at the suggestion, and pulled Ian's arm closer to herself as she started to cuddle herself up in his side. "I don't like pretending to be normal. Too much work.."
