Alia gasped as she looked at the necklace, "This necklace is from King Trident's granddaughter. She went missing a long time ago and because of that, the King has been blaming Coralia for his missing granddaughter saying we took her," she shook her head, "If you have this necklace, then it clears our name, but if we don't know where Melody is...then it doesn't help anything..." she looked at him for a moment concerned, "If a Trident is the only thing linking you to your past...well, a trident is a symbol of the merpeople..."

Marius cocked his head at her words when pain blossomed behind his eyes, making him grab his head, nearly dropping the necklace. Bubbles streamed from his mouth and nose as images flashed behind his eyelids. He saw a crib and a girl with black hair and blue eyes with a white tank top on and light blue pants with sandals;oddly, the point of view was as if he were lying in the crib. The girl looked maybe thirteen or fourteen, he figured. His gasp was barely audible when a woman with deep red hair and the same blue eyes joined the girl in his mind's eye. His eyes fluttered open as he weakly tried to surface.

Alia looked at Marius worriedly as he was having those flashbacks. She grabbed hold of him and brought him up to the surface as quick as she could. She swam him over to the shoreline and laid him on the sand. She looked over him worriedly, "Are you alright?"

"That was horrible timing for something like that to happen, but it revealed something both confusing and interesting. It seems... if it's a memory of mine... that Melody is... was... my older sister," he murmured. "I can't explain it, but the sensation was disorienting... I want to think the memory was from the age of maybe three or so," he murmured. His eyes rose to the girl's when he spoke.

Alia looked at him with soft eyes for a moment in concern before her eyes widened, "Your a grandson of King Trident?" she was amazed. If she brought him to King Trident, then maybe he would help ease the King's anger. But, he didn't have a tail and while he could last underwater without taking a breath for a while, he couldn't make it to Atlantica as he was. "I could probably take you to your Grandfather, but...you don't have a tail..."

Marius sighed softly. "I doubt he'd come up here for what he'd likely assume is a 'ridiculous claim to smear his name and honor' or some idiotic crap like that," he said softly. His eyes dropped to the surface of the water as he spoke, noting a flicker reflecting off the surface. He looked at the crystal trident head and blinked. It was flickering almost as if it were sending a message of some kind. He realized it was flickering Morse Code, and he'd paid some attention to that tutor, which wasn't saying much when he hadn't paid much attention to any of his tutors.

Alia listened to him as he spoke, and she lowered her head as well. With the state of mind the King was in at the moment, it would most likely happen. She then looked at the crystal trident head as well and noticed the flickering, "What is it doing?" she then looked out at the water and sighed softly, "I wish there was something I could do to help..."

Marius was utterly confused now by what the odd trident keepsake seemed to be saying. "It keeps flashing four words that make absolutely no sense: 'Press me to chest', whatever that means," he said softly.

Alia looked at the trident head and then she looked at him again, "Um...maybe it's telling you to press it against your chest..." she was getting a little nervous, and a little dry since she had been out of the water for a while by his side.

Marius shifted, glancing at her. "I think it may work better in the water," he said softly. He gently pushed her in the water, following her almost immediately as he pressed the small crystalline trident to his chest over his heart, submerging completely. His hips and legs immediately felt like they'd been dipped in molten rock as he felt the same burning deep within him, pulsing deep in his gut before the burning slowly faded away. He moved his hand and blinked when he saw the trident mark in the same color as the rest of the odd tattoos on his body. He looked down and gasped, spotting a muscular golden red tail flicking in place of his legs. "Holy..." he mumbled.

When he pushed her into the water, she felt better having it on her again. But, when she looked at Marius again, her eyes widened as she saw the change occur. He had a tail and the trident head was now another tattoo on his chest. "You're...a mermaid. You truly are a descendant of King Trident, he will believe you if you go to him like this! You'll be able to save us all."

Marius looked at the girl with interest. "Maybe, but I'm sure he's more stubborn than coral," he said softly."That reminds me... you never told me your name; I'm Marius," he said softly.

Alia laughed a little, "Well, he is when it comes to admitting his wrong," she then blushed lightly as she scratched her cheek lightly, "My name is Alia. It's nice to meet you Marius..."

"I know the sea maybe for a few hundred yards from the shoreline, but I doubt any merpeople would have homes or settlements within that distance of shore, which means you'll have to lead the way," he admitted. He had to admit, it actually felt more natural in this 'merman' form for him, though he wasn't afraid to admit his own shortcomings. "Hopefully something other than that one flash of my memory will return on the way; we can stop by whichever kingdom you mentioned you were part of if you want on the way," he said with a grin, his natural curiosity peeking through. He looked around with casual ease. It looks so different, yet... unique in its own way, he thought.

Alia nodded looking at him, "It's true. And if I am spotted anywhere near Atlantica, I will be put away in a prison. So, for now, I'll take you to Coralia. I just hope you'll fit in..." she then began to swim in front of him leading him back to her home. She felt a little nervous though, because at the moment, he didn't know she was the Princess of Coralia and if someone called her out, she would be exposed to him and she didn't want him to act like everyone else did around her.
