Yoko Polaris When your holding a conversation with someone in real life are you at all concerned with your grammer? Maybe if it's a glaring mistake like "I is at the movies with yous sister", but you don't have someone edit your conversation. sweatdrop Um, I edit people's conversation in real life. If they use the wrong text or a word that doesn't exist I always correct them. I can't help myself. It irritates me that people can't speak their own language. I don't care about the occasional slip up here and there, but those people who greet you with "wazzzup youse?!" make me so angry I want to punch something - probably them... xd

Fiendsworth Anyway... my first suggestion is this: read. Read books, newspaper, whatever you can be sure will be spelled and punctuated correctly. You don't have to bury yourself in literature; just read for maybe half an hour a day, and you'll be surprised by your improvement. Aahh, books. Where would we be without them? 3nodding Fiendish Ninja response: We would be in an Internet full of l33tsp33k and contractions such as 'u' and 'sup mah babbies' and 'me wuvz yoo'. Clearly, if our books are ever destroyed, we should all perform ritual suicide to save ourselves the pain of living in such a world.

Quote: Please ignore the bitterness; I cannot help it, due largely to my British blood. I do not like seeing my language mangled! *plans on marrying you in the near future* God I love a person who actually has respect for the English language surprised . But truthfully, I am practically obsessed with "Britishifying" English, and my teachers hate it when I spell "strangely" on my essays or whatnot.
I just find it rather funny that I have a grudge against everything you wrote in your rules as well stare

Quote: *plans on marrying you in the near future* You'll have to watch your back from now on. Sunran will probably be attempting to place a dagger in it. She is rather possessive. But, I'm sure we can reach a compromise. I will simply clone myself and you can marry my clone. He'll be all eccentric and crazy like that wacky clone in the movie Multiplicity, which I never saw because I'm lazy. My clone will never cease to make you laugh, until he burns your house down and screams about the Soviets before exploding in a fiery inferno somehow. Oh well, science comes at a price. Stealth edit: There's a different way to spell "strangely?"

Marry my Fiend? crying Awwwww.....but...but...he's mine
Anyhow, I think you should consider making this into a guide to posting. I can help, if you like. It's just that we have sooo many stickies, it would be easier if we made this an announcement and disposed of some of the stickies. Also, it'll look more important ^__^

Fiendsworth Stealth edit: There's a different way to spell "strangely?" LOL! No, but I believe what she meant is using the British spelling of words instead of the American spelling, ie colour instead of color. I also have this dilema...can only spell it in American if copying text...it's my grandmother's fault. She taught me that way...

remirez08 Well, im kinda afraid to ask this, but, could you help me with my spelling/grammer. pleaz. it would be gratly apriciated. In grade 2, my teacher taught us something called "Cops". C stands for capitalization (I'm not sure if that is right. sweatdrop ) , O stands for organization, P stands for punctuation(I'm not sure if I spelled that right either. sweatdrop ) and S stands for spelling. "Cops" is used for checking. "Cops" is mostly used for school, but it's still good to check other stuff.

Now how do I begin such a post as is related to this line of discussion? Well let me begin by saying that life, in general, requires five things: One: a spell checker. Two: a text prompt applicable to ALL conversation. Three: a Thesaurus. Four: a Dictionary Five: a large man with club in hand invested with the authority to pummel those who do not take advantage of these vital resources.

is it okay if i don't bother with capitalization while online? i'd never do that in an essay or something, but i don't think it's that big of a deal in casual online conversation. i only do it because i'm a VERY slow typist. *cough*fivewordsperminute*cogh*
