"There's reason. How did you figure it out? Is it that easy?" Lin replied, urging this strange girl to sit with her.

"That's impossible," Zuko snapped, turning away from his uncle. Impossible on many grounds, he thought.

Luu shrugged.
"Well, it wasn't obvious at all. I sort of have better intuition? And it was sort of a wild guess if you were a boy or a girl," she chuckled. "My name's Chen, well, Luu Chen, by the way." This time around, Luu felt like telling this stranger her real name. Strange as it was, but this stranger felt strangely familiar. She was awfully easy to talk to too.

"Luu huh? It's a cute name," Lin said, then thought she should return the introduction, "I'm Lin. But, I use the alias Lee."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2011 4:44 pm

Luu coughed.
"Lee?" She blinked. "That's a good alias. There's a million Lees out there. In fact, there's another Lee on this ship too."
Soon, the ferry began to slow down a bit, pulling into the hidden port of Ba Sing Se.

"Hmph. Really?" Lin huffed, then joked, "Maybe he's using an alias too."
Lin surveyed Luu in her red kimono and katana. They were obviously not Earth made. Luu's outfit was not of Earth Kingdom style either.
"You're from the fire nation aren't you?"
Lin had lived in the Fire Nation for a long time to tell the difference.

Luu laughed at Lin's joke, mainly because she already knew it was an alias.
"Yup, but that's a secret," she smiled with a little wink. "Not a lot of people realize it, 'cause this kimono isn't too specific to a nation. Sure it's red, but it's style isn't so much. You're an observant one aren't ya?"
The people on board the ferry were ushered one by one. There was the 'checking station', for passport and such.

"Well, see you around," Lin said glancing at the checking station.
Bearing no passport, Lin had to find another way in Ba Sing Se. However, she knew to get in you had to be an earth bender. And that, she was. Lin sneaked around to the wall and turned the corner. She knocked on the wall. It was thick. It would take her a while, but probably be quick with a couple of benders.

"Uncle, do we even have passports?" Zuko hissed as the officials came around.
Iroh whipped out two passports from his sleeve. "You have a lot to learn."
Zuko didn't say nothing, but his lips were taunt.

Hopefully you haven't forgotten guy here...
Jun Li was making his rounds. Today he felt maybe instead of his usual path he walked, he would do a different one. How glad he was that he did. Suddenly the wall dropped down and a fairly short boy walked through closing the wall behind him.
"Who are you!" Jun immediately questioned, readied in a fighting form. The boy did not bear the Earth Kingdom Army attire and it was highly unusual for a civilian to be Earthbending, the wall specifically too.

Luu watched as Lin disappeared, a little curious about it as an official asked her for her passport. Luu took hers out with no fear, the official compared it and handed it back.
"Foreign weapons is not allowed," he suddenly told her. Luu looked at him with shock in her eyes.
"B-but this is the only memory I have left of my father!" She explained, her eyes sorrowful. "I'm just a girl, I don't even know how to wield it."
The official nodded his head and walked off to the next person in line, having dealt with many cases like this. Refugees came here to seek safety, many of them losing family. A small discreet smile formed on her lips briefly, before vanishing once more. Success.

"A new recruit," Lin answered without faltering, "Are you part of the army? Take me to your commander."

"What are we going to do uncle?" Zuko questioned as they entered Ba Sing Se, "We don't have any money. Are we suppose to beg again?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 16, 2011 5:50 pm

"A new recruit huh?" Jun blinked looking at the stranger. "Alright, follow me...?

"No, we are going to get a job. I got us an apartment already too," Iroh told him. Ah, the perks of being the Grand Lotus of the Order of the White Lotus."I've always wanted to open a tea shop, finally I can now," he added absently.

Lin followed. Being a girl, she couldn't help notice he was handsome and young. He also seemed capable, but she figured he didn't have much experience in the field. He had accepted her too quickly. Perhaps it was good fortune that she met him. She hoped so.

Zuko crossed his arms in a foul mood.
"I hate it here already," he groaned with the people bustling around him, "You're going to enjoy this aren't you?"

Jun brought the newcomer to the main building and found the Lieutenant.
"Who is this boy Jun Li?" The Lieutenant asked, though not in a rude way at all, almost, strangely enough, with some respect.
"A newcomer he said, his name is..." Jun began turning to the boy.

Luu ran a hand through her hair as she entered her new home. It was much smaller than her last one, this time it was a house made for one person. It was basically a single room with a bathroom, nicely furnished though. She stripped out of her kimono putting it away neatly as she put on an Earth Kingdom outfit she got on the way to her apartment. After that she placed her father's katana under her bed. Next up, exploration.

Iroh merely smiled, humming a tune as they headed on their way. He then paused seeing a tea shop and ventured in. That's how their tea shop job began which eventually led to Iroh owning his own tea shop because of his fantastic brewing skill.

"Lee," Lin answered for him and bowed low with respect, "I would like to join the army to protect Ba Sing Se."

Zuko hated the teashop. It was hot and full of laughing old men. He sat staring at his teapot, waiting for it to boil.
"This is so stupid," Zuko muttered, "Why is my job just waiting for tea to boil? Couldn't you have found me something else?"

"Can you bend?" the Lieutenant asked first without any more thought. It was a basic question to sort the Earthbenders from the non-benders. Plus, this boy didn't quite look like an Earthbender.

Luu headed down the semi-busy streets, well it was a much busier street compared to the one her apartment was on. A scent wafted through the air and Luu unconsciously followed it to a... Tea Shop. Oh the irony. Though a good cup of tea sort of sounded nice. So, Luu headed in taking a seat.

"You're the waiter too remember," Iroh chuckled as he made tea. The manager was quite pleased, his business has never been better.
"Lee! There is a customer waiting," the manager pointed out the person who just came in and sat down.

Lin thrust her sword for the young man to hold, taking up the challenge. She answered the Lieutenant's question with some bending. She had practised for as long as she remembered and even with Piando. She could be considered a master, but of course, she also knew there was still room to learn and grow. When she finished 'refurbishing' the place, she took back her sword and awaited the Lieutenant's decisions.

Zuko let out a defeated sigh. This was his life now. He went out to the tables to the new customer.
"What would you li- oh, you again," Zuko scowled, "What do you want? Did you want more money? Well, we don't have anymore."
