poopie702 I think movie based video games can be successful if you put in actual effort. Some movies, say, ghostbusters had a few different games until somebody got it right. STAY PUFT IS NOT AMUSED!!! side thought, what if kirby ate stay puft?

AKO_Slash Jaycorn I'll tell you what: Take any decently popular Hollywood film. If you can get a team of real hardworking developers that actually have a good budget, a good amount of time, and who've set high standards for themselves to work on turning it into a game, then that film should be turned into a game. Plus, following cannon is imperative. Look at what happened to the Silent Hill movie. Silent Hill? Canonity? lol For one, Shattered Memories in itself is not canon, as it takes place in a different universe, apparently. And the only real way to tell canonity of Silent Hill are later games. Konami so cagey. And arguebly Silent Hill is the only video game movie that doesn't suck.

Well a big portion of Silent Hill is that the characters have repressed memories. None are true sequels, since the towns and characters change. So they're kind of like Final Fantasy where the canon is more the mythology and villains. I think Silent Hill the movie let fans down by recasting the main character Harry Mason as a woman. Although I agree that Silent Hill is one of the best video game movies.

Although I agree that Silent Hill is one of the best video game movies. The themes were only slightly altered, making it motherhood, instead of parenthood and how far a father would go for his daughter, and the writer also did so because "Harry was somewhat feminine, fainting a lot, screaming, and going to look for his daughter" Sure the themes and suppressed memory deal don't go quite as far as the games, and the detail change with Rose, but I don't think it's something to get too upset over. It makes it seem like another story/re-imagining of Silent Hill.
