"What's unnatural about a girl swimming?" Avery asked. Most people she knew in town could swim and enjoyed swimming a lot. It was fun and it gave people something to get away from.

Laru smiled at her, swimming around slowly, "Your body just isnt designed for it, and that thing on you..." He said, indicating her swimsuit, "I dont get why you all wear things like this."

"We aren't exactly designed for swimming but we adapt and learn. As for the swimsuit it's to cover our bodies." Avery said quickly. "We aren't very open." Avery added.

"I've been here my whole life, I live in the lighthouse." Avery said pointing to the large building over looking the ocean. "And I shall probably live in the lighthouse for the remainder of my life."

Laru sighed softly with relief, "I am glad..." He said, "Ive never spoken to anyone but yourself." He admited to her, drawing a bit closer.

"Well i'm greatly honored your talking to me." Avery said with a smile. She didn't have many people to talk to because the lighthouse and the water were her life and most found it strange. She noted him coming closer and began to climb back into the boat. "I've got to go for now, but i'll be back in a couple hours." She said quickly.

Avery rowed back to shore as fast as she could and ran into the light house. "This is insane..." Avery said shaking her head. "I was talking to a Merman! I must of hit my head...." She said checking for bumps none. "Just get your chores done..." Avery told herself and quickly began cleaning the lighthouse.

Laru swam through the waters, seconds feeling like hours, hours like days and so on. He wanted to see the girl again. Even at least once more.

Avery finished her chores close to noon and smiled heading back out. She decided to take the small boat again and quickly was out in the water sitting in the boat looking around. She had her suit on but she wasn't ready to go in the water yet. "Laru?" She called gently.

Laru rose his toro over the water and leaned on the edge of the boat, "Yes?" He asked her softly. He smiled, glad that she had returned.

"Just seeing if you were going to come up." Avery said with a smile, she was glad that it wasn't some dream or anything like that. "How old are you, and are ages different than with humans?" Avery asked getting out of her over clothes and back down to her swim suit.
