Hikari's brow arched at "just like him" as Mirela latched to Kalan. Who was "him"? Hikari's mind didn't wander far as Mirela's mouth continued to spout words, only further irritating the already exhausted Hikari. A small vein seemed to spasm as Hikari starred at the green clad woman, a familiar hatred seeming to rise from the recesses of her mind.

"And how exactly are you going to help? Last i checked children and shrubberies weren't much help anywhere. According to the shiny woman that knocked me out, in two days it won't matter too much who's helping."

Hikari made her way past the lovers and down the stairs, staring at the young woman sitting at her table, only furthering her frustration. Without a word she left, silent as her thoughts wandered. Her footsteps clicking in as the beat of the rain accompanied them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Screams rang out as a large gate slowly creaked open, flame spouting out into the docile world. The cloaked Birth slowly swallowed her emotions as she stepped within the gate, her breath slowing as the gate slammed behind her. Years had passed since she had graced these hallowed rooms, the gateway to hell. Before her a stairway lay, leading up to a throne fashioned out of skulls. Pillars of flame erupted, illuminating the shadowy figure that sat upon the throne.

""Hello Brother.."

Saken started to move towards the kitchen when the girl spoke to Mirela, his eyebrow arched at her attitude but hearing two days made something click.
He was silent as she left before standing up from the couch.
He looked at Kalan who was in his own little word having Mirela so close.
A wide grin was on his face and he seemed to be staring into nothingness, to make matters worse he chuckled every now and then.

Disgusted Saken turned and made his way towards the kitchen, Nala following behind him not wanting to watch the scene herself.
"Can't even serve your guest, she's both a useless woman and host. I really don't know what he sees in here,"
"Maybe he sees a little of himself in her,"
"Not impossible.

Saken turned to the two before looking at Kalan, with a small sigh he snapped his fingers forcing Kalan out of his state.
"Kalan the two day thing that girl said...I got the same message from a cloaked woman of ill repute."
With that Saken and Nala vanished into the kitchen.

Kalan remained silent at Saken's words, something pulling at the back of his mind at the mention of a shiny woman.
He wondered if it had anything to do with the light but with the girl gone he couldn't ask the question.
"What is going on around here," Kalan mumbled to himself.
He turned his attention to Mirela and smiled before speaking.
"I apologize for Saken, he's a good kid when the mood hits him. Even though I'm his uncle I still feel bad having to punish him for his rude nature."
Kalan let out a small sigh and ran his hand through his hair.
"Still I have a bad feeling about things..."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explosions of hellfire cast shadows upon the room as glowing red eyes peered at the newcomer.
Within the shadows a small toothy grin could be seen before a figure stood up from a throne of skulls.
Black vines were wrapped around the back of the throne and around the arm rests.
At the movement of the figure the skulls screamed only to be silenced by the figures hands.

"Well if it isn't my dear sister,"
Reaper walked out of the shadows with his hands folded behind his back, taking small steps he eventually stopped a few feet from Birth.
Reaper held his arms out as if inviting a hug but snapped his fingers before lowering his arms.
"Oh right I forgot, no happy family moments in the underworld...kind of ruins the atmosphere."
A scream could be heard behind Reaper, he glanced back at it before shaking his head and turning his attention back to Birth.
"You've already clipped my wings sister have you come to wrap my beak shut too. Perhaps you've come to bring an end to me once and for all. No that doesn't make any sense after all this time. Oh I know you must've have missed me and came down to fight like old times."

Reaper laughed leaning forward a little bit his laughter echoing throughout the underworld before he fixed his gaze back on Birth.
"Now what could my favorite sister want to pay me a personal visit. I thought I had been forgotten. Oh wait traitors are never forgotten are they, forever shamed within the endless timeline."
Reaper let out a small sigh and looked at Birth.
"It's good to catch up isn't it? Normally I'd just try and kill you but the mood's gone now....what do you want my very dear sister?"
Reaper grinned and waited for Birth to speak.

Mirela made a small face hearing Hikari talk but simply shook her head, telling herself that she would just track her down later. Right now, she had more important matters to put her attention on. With a few moments of hesitation, Mirela released Kalan's arm before moving over to the couch and folding up the blanket that she had used to cover Hikari before she had woken up. With a small frown, she tossed it across the room into a corner before turning her attention to Miu.

"Miu, will you do me a big favor and bring me the pretty case from my dresser?"

Miu, who had started whining not even a minute after Hikari left, looked up at Mirela hearing her request. "Momma you still owe me candy."

"Please, Miu. I'll have Daddy buy you some candy tomorrow, okay?"

Hearing this, Miu's eyes quickly lit up. "Really? Really?!" A high-pitched squeal left her lips as the small child scurried around the room, before finally disappearing into Mirela's bedroom.

--------------------

After Miu had gone, Mirela did a quick scan of the upstairs to see where everyone had gone. She knew that Miu was now digging through her dresser, which would soon turn into a mess that she would have to clean up later. Mirela also knew that Inae had gone downstairs, which wasn't a problem. Inae had a business to run, and the less they were around each other, the better, seeing as the day had quickly involved into a bad day between them. Turning her attention to the kitchen, Mirela saw that Saken and Nala had gone into the kitchen, which meant that she would be able to talk to Kalan privately for a few minutes.

Making her way back over to her hot-blooded lover, Mirela gently took his hand and began toying with it, entwining her fingers with his. "Kalan," she began, averting her gaze. "Since Miu will be back shortly, I don't have much time to tell you this. I'll start by saying that Miu isn't your real daughter. She isn't mine either, but I've raised her since she was just a baby. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I'm not her real mother so she's been living her life believing that we're her real parents. I plan on telling her eventually, just not right now. I want her to mature a little first."

Mirela scrunched her nose a little bit before continuing. "The woman that they spoke of... Kalan, it was Birth. I just know it was. Birth's made her descent, I'm assuming it was to warn us of what's to happen in just two days. For her to warn Hikari and Saken, though..." She grew quiet for a few moments. "You said Saken is your neph..." Her voice trailed off, her serious expression turning into a look of fear.

Mirela quickly let go of Kalan's hand and placed her hands on his shoulder before gripping tightly. "There's no way he's HER son! There's no way its true! It can't be! I'd love to meet the person lucky and stupid enough to make him become a part of this world!"

After fully realizing the situation, Mirela's eyes softened as she began to calm herself down, the look of fear transitioning into a look of sadness as she slid her hands off of Kalan's shoulders before dropping onto the couch and leaning forward, resting her face in her lap. "There's no way that woman had a child before me... I refuse to believe it..."

--------------------

Miu soon returned with the 'pretty case' that Mirela had requested after hearing all of the commotion. "Here you go, Momma!" The small child broke out into a grin. "I have the pretty case!" Miu raised her arms high above her head, showing that she was carrying a small, white case.

"T-Thank you, Miu..."

Tilting her head at Mirela's muffled words, Miu just smiled and held the case against her chest before running over to Kalan and setting it down on the floor. "Give that to Momma when she feels better, and don't forget that you gotta buy me candy tomorrow!" She gave him a quick hug before running into the kitchen and glancing up at Saken. "Hey, hey!" She started pointing at a small basket on the counter. "I want an apple, but I can't reach it! Gimme, gimme!"

Mirela took a deep breath before sitting up and leaning back against the couch, resting her arm across her lap. "Sorry about that..." She looked over at Kalan with a small smile before patting the spot next to her. "Come, sit with me so we can talk some more. It's been seven years, I want to know what you did while you were gone."

--------------------

Inae followed Hikari with her eyes after she left. A small 'tch' left he lips as the door finished swinging shut before she stood and made her way over to it. "Forget it... Nobody's coming in. I don't want any more people in here today." Shaking her head, the small woman reached up and locked the door before turning the sign from 'OPEN' to 'CLOSED'.

She pulled the curtains shut, only to return to her table and light a few candles, a warm light soon enveloping the room. "I'll just sit down here until everyone else leaves. The silence is a little relaxing." Inae retrieved a small blanket from behind the counter before wrapping up in it and returning to her table once more. After sitting down, Inae rested her head upon the table and closed her eyes, hoping to rest until the rain stopped. 'It'll be a miracle if I can get five minutes of sleep with that annoying child upstairs... Of course it'd be nice if Miu would quiet down, too.'

Birth removed the shimmering hood that concealed her face, her eyes staring up to meet Reaper's form as she felt the darkness staring at her. She knew quite well she was not welcome in this place that she had banished her brother to seven years ago.

Her eyes had a sense of ferocity to them that had not been there for many a year. Her mind was mind up as to her actions. Birth slowly began to climb the stairs toward her brother.

"Do you hate me brother? Loathe me for locking you away down here?"

Obviously she knew the answer to her questions, it was a miracle she was still standing at this point. Reaching into her sleeve, Birth retrieved a small stone, it's shimmering light dispersed the darkness as she presented it to Reaper.

"Do you remember? When he killed our sister, these were born. They're quite special if i should say so. The thought that one man has changed the birthing cycle of the deities is astounding."

A small grin came over Birth before her fist closed around the gem, it's light concealed from the underworld.

"I came not to fight dear brother, but to release you from your shackles. Two days brother, two days your chains shall be destroyed and you may do as you wish. I only ask one favor....."

Birth spoke with Reaper within the hallowed halls of the underworld, the massive gate that lead to hell looming behind them. It's stone doors sealing the souls of the damned within. Within those large doors, deep in the darkness and flames, there lay a small tree, the only sign of life within this world of hatred. It's grandeur size shimmered brightly, casting away the darkness. Silently beneath it's branches, two figures sit, a man and a small woman.

As the man stared at the unconscious woman, her tattered clothing seeming to smoke and simmer, his body began to glow slightly, a small smirk coming over him.

"Birth..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the deities spoke in the underworld, the morning sun had well risen, the start of day 1 had begun. What omen has Birth foretold? What events will tomorrow bring?

As Hikari awoke, she found her self under a tree, the light shimmering through the leaves. She sat up, gazing into the capitol square before her, three cloaked figures catching her eye. The cloaks had seemed so familiar to her, but she couldn't grasp the memory. As they turned a bold eight adorned they're backs.

Hikari arose, her curiosity piqued. It seemed the day before the festival was going to be more interesting than she had first thought.

Kalan blinked a few times seeing Mirela move to the couch before watching Miu run off.
He rubbed the back of his head as Mirela looked around the home, he started to ask what she was doing when she moved.
He smiled a little when she moved closer to him but it faded as she started talking about Miu.
He nodded every now and then to show he understood before closing his eyes when she finished explaining her.
So she was keeping Miu's origin a secret from her....which also meant she was lying.
He let out a small sigh since he understood why she was keeping it a secret.
"Alright I won't say anything...but tell her at some point,"

Kalan chuckled a little seeing Mirela scrunch her nose silently mumbling cute to himself before tilting his head.
At the mention of Birth his eyes narrowed as he realized his suspicions were correct.
He started to ponder why she would return after this time when Mirela's expression changed.

A small sigh escaped him as she caught his earlier words about Saken.
He leaned back when she question how Saken came to be before letting out a nervous smiled and rubbing his arm.

His eyes went into the kitchen before meeting with Saken's, for a moment they stared in silence before Saken turned his attention back to his meal.
Kalan sighed only to be hugged by Miu causing him to look down at her before watching her run into the kitchen.
He looked at Mirela and waved his hand indicating it was alright.
"It's fine I almost had the same reaction when I found out," Kalan said with a smile deciding not to comment on the child part.

At her request he rubbed the back of his head before shaking it.
"I'd like to keep an eye on Saken and Nala so I'll sit in a moment."
He turned towards the kitchen watching the two before speaking.
"Still to think that Birth has returned after all this time....I don't know what's happening in two days but we'd better be on guard."
He walked over and sat next to Mirela seeing Nala walk back into the room.
"I don't really know what I could tell you,"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saken listened to the conversation of the two in the other room, his hand closing into a fist as he listened to the them mention his mother.
Hearing someone talking he looked down to see Miu.
He looked over at the apples before looking back down at her before glaring at her.
On rare occasions Saken would admit to having something in common with his mother.
Hating children was one of two things he would admit.
Reaching up he picked up an apple before crushing it in his grip, he opened his hand spilling the remains on the floor.
"There,"
He turned form her and walked into the living room.

"Kalan let's go,"
Kalan looked over at Saken before he was pulled up from his seat, he started to question him when Saken spoke first, a dark aura hovered around his body.
"I...can't promise my patience will last much longer,"
Kalan was silent but nodded and looked back at Mirela.
"I'd rather not have Saken destroy your home so I suppose we should go."
He turned towards Saken and Nala motioned towards the door.
"Nala wait outside for me with Saken."
Nala remained silent but shrugged and walked away Saken's eyes glancing towards Mirela his eyes glowing red.
"Mirela Lovel.....you're just like she said"
With that Saken turned and walked away from everyone walking outside.
Kalan watched him go before letting out a small sigh.
"I'll let him rest at the inn...if it's gotten this bad he'll need to be watched...last thing needed is another dark impact. I'll be nearby this time so I'll be back tomorrow."

Kalan walked over and wrapped his arms around Mirela in a hug, holding her close before backing away.
"I'm at the inn past the marketplace so it won't take me long to return here. If Miu asks let her know I took Saken home and I'm going to keep an eye on him."
He smiled before turning and walking out the door making sure not to wake up Inae in the process.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reaper drummed his fingers on his throne as he rested his cheek on his fist.
His bangs covered his other eye only revealing one eye that glowed a red tint as he gazed into the endless flames of the underworld.
He remained still as footsteps echoed behind him having no intention to turn and greet the visitor.
Yesterday's events played through his head as the footsteps stopped.
He closed his eyes and lifted his head his bangs moving at the same time to reveal both his eyes before he glanced back.
"You're late,"

Reaper raised his arm and caught a mug the liquid moving with his catch but not spilling as he brought it to his lips.
"Seems like something's on your mind Reaper,"
The tavern owner walked out of the shadows and stood next to Reaper's throne.
"I could say the same about you,"
The tavern owner chuckled and he kept his attention forward as Reaper took another sip.
"I stopped by that fortune tellers shop but it was closed by time I got there. I could hear voices inside. One being Kalan's."
Reaper stopped drinking before a grin crossed his face, he stood up from his throne and throwing his head back down the rest of the drink.

"Well that makes it all better then, it's been too long since I had some fun with him,"
"Allow me to speak with him before you have you fun,"
"If you can get to him first then sure. What else did you find out?"
"There's a few things I have to speak with you about, but now isn't the right time,"
Reaper went still at this and glanced back at the tavern owner, seeing the expression on his face he realized he was serious.
Reaper moved his hand through his hair as he turned his head towards the ceiling before a low chuckled escaped from him.
"Now I'm getting impatient, I'll have to go find something to pass my time now."
Reaper turned to the tavern owner before speaking.
"Hey you've heard the story of the caged bird right?
The tavern owner cleaned one of his mugs but gave a small nod.
"Yeah if I believe right a bird wouldn't sing for it's owner and the owner broke it's wings right,"
"Yeah the children's side of the story, the real story though...do you know it."
The tavern was silent for a moment but gave a small nod.
"Yes...the bird sang and the man kept his promise and opened the cage...only to have the bird peck out his eyes. The man stumbled around before falling down steps breaking his neck in the process. The bird flew away free while the man paid the ultimate sacrifice."
"Yeah I love that story,"
The tavern owner remained silent as he stared at Reaper before going back to cleaning his mug.
"I dislike both versions of the story really."
Reaper chuckled and held the mug out to the tavern owner.
"Sometimes I wonder if I'm the bird or the owner,"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A cloaked man looked towards the capital as he stood on the shoulder of a hulking figure that let out a low growl.
An ornate staff hovered next to him decorated with multiple symbols as a gem rested on the top of it.
A black ribbon circled around the staff and it let out a small glow as the cloaked man chuckled.
The man stepped off the hulking figure before hovering in front of it, the figure's eyes glowing red within the shadows.
It has to be here....our goal is almost complete Asmodeus.
Asmodeus let out a loud roar before the two vanished into darkness.

The streets were once again busy with workers and pedestrians as Hikari tailed the group of "8". Their movements were quick and suspicious as they plunged themselves into the heart of the city, the marketplace. As they entered, a loud yell rang out from the lead man, causing the men to disperse rapidly into the streets. Hikari was dumbfounded as carnage began to break out before her before a fist flew at her. Quickly she dodged, ducking to the ground. Flames shot from the cloaked figure's hand as his fist missed his target, setting the stand behind them aflame.

"What the hell!? Who are you people!?"

""Foolish woman! None dare stand to the might of Reaper's eighth force!"

Hikari quickly pushed off to the side as the cloaked figure brought his flaming arm down towards her, her body rolling as she had hit the pavement. this was not her first fight, but it was definately a first fighting someone wielding flames.

Quickly making her way to her feet, Hikari was forced to dodge once more as a second cloaked figure began the assault. Now trapped between two foes, Hikari dodged to the best of her ability, her agitation quickly swelling as her temper flew off the handle. Dodging to the left of a flaming fist, Hikari grit her teeth before a shining fist slammed into one of the cloaked figure's face, a loud crack resonating as their hood flew off. Hikari was frozen, before her stood a man, wearing a blank mask, only a wide grin adorned the sadistic mask. Her mind flashed to the man in her dreams as she stared at the man before her.

"W-who are you.."

"Fools! Stop wasting your time with a girl and find Kobayashi!"

"Kobayashi", the name that plagued Hikari her entire life. Why were these men after her? Or were they possibly after her father? mother perhaps? Considering that Hikari knew nothing of who her parents were, she didn't know what to do. Why did she share the name of the man that helped save the world? Her anger had finally taken over as she reared back, her eyes now glowing viciously as she slammed her fist once more into the man before her, half of his mask shattering.

"Kalan."
Kalan let out a loud yawn and rolled onto his side at Nala's words, she walked over and kicked him in the back causing him to roll and fall off the couch.
Letting out a groan Kalan sat up and rubbed the side of his head, he looked over at Nala with sleepy eyes seeing she was in her cloak.
"Did you go out? You know I hate when you leave randomly,"
"I was going to but there's a brawl going on. That girl from that mess of a house was involved. The one with the weird color hair"
Kalan jumped up at this and ran over to the wall grabbing his priest robe.
He quickly threw it on and grabbed his book before reaching back and tying his hair into a low ponytail.
"This is a good chance to ask her some questions. Nala stay here."
"We both know that's not going to happen."
"Fine then stay close to me."

Kalan ran out of the room Nala walking out after him before closing the door.
Kalan ran towards the fight Nala running alongside him before he caught sight of Hikari.
"Kalan Theodore Valadres the warrior of Justice and Love is here to assist!"
Kalan said as he slid a few feet before sliding next to Hikari.
"Who're are you fighti-"
Kalan went silent as he caught sight of the men, his eyes peering back at the fire.
"Oh....I should have looked before I ran in."
He flexed his hand straw pouring out of it before he closed his hand around it causing the straw to sharpen into two swords one in each hand.
He saw the sadistic grin lining the face of the cloaked figure, Kalan's eyes narrowing as he got a glimpse of the man's face.
"Yolor."
Yolor let out a loud laugh as fire focused around his hand again.
White hellfire circled the straw before going into it causing the straw to take on a red color.
"This will help with the fire...but since the straw component is still there it'll only burn slower but I'll try to keep up with you."

Kalan looked up as a giant explosion of hellfire appeared in the distance, a tornado of flames rose high in the distance the inferno consuming the buildings unlucky enough to be in the vicinity
The flames seemed to reach the heavens themselves as the tornado of flames separated into three other tornado's that circled around a large one.
"Were you able to find Mr. Fairy!"
A woman walked out of the tornado's of flame before they exploded behind her causing fire to rain down in the area where the tornado's spun.
The woman had long red hair that fluttered in the wind as the embers danced in front of her.
A toothy grin lined her face as she held a rapier in her right hand, lifting her left one she held her palm out towards Hikari and Kalan..
"Y-Yolor?!"
"Hello straw man!"
A giant ball of fire exploded from her hand and moved towards the two tearing apart the cobblestone as it traveled.
The two male Yolor's jumped into the alleyway as it moved towards them.
Kalan grit his teeth and spun his straw.
"Light girl move out of the way!"
Kalan jumped back and grabbing Nala jumped onto a nearby rooftop as the ball drew closer.
"He...she....it? Whatever Yolor is now has to be stopped."

Saken's eyes shot open before he brought his hand to his head.
Looking around he noticed he was sitting in the corner of the room.
He looked over towards the wall to see Kalan's robe was gone before hearing loud noises outside.
He stood up and walked towards the door flexing his right hand before rotating his right arm
"Who's making so much noise at such an hour. Annoying."

"Momma! Momma wake up!"

Miu had planted herself on top of Mirela's sleeping form and had started shaking her shoulders. "Mommaaaa! Momma, its time to get up! There are things goin' on outside, Auntie Inae said its not safe to go out, but I don't believe her! She's a liar, Momma... Auntie Inae should really stop lying to me."

Mirela's eyes quickly shot open at these words, but simply stared up at Miu as she continued shaking her. "M-Miu, M-Miu stop it... Stop it, Miu!" Mirela shut her eyes tight and reached up with both hands before gripping Miu's wrists, her heart beating wildly in her chest.

"M-Momma..." The small child's eyes began to water. "Momma... Momma stop it, you're hurting me... Please, please stop, Momma..."

Realizing what she had been doing, Mirela opened her eyes and let go of Miu. "Miu I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to hurt you, or yell.. Just, don't shake Momma, okay?" She frowned once she saw the tears start pouring from her daughter's eyes, but simply reached up and pulled her close against her into a warm embrace. "I'm really sorry, it'll never happen again."

Mirela pet Miu's head, comforting the small child until her tears came to an end. "Now, what did you want?"

"There's stuff goin' on outside, Momma. Big stuff, Auntie Inae said it wasn't safe." She made a small face. "Go get Daddy, he's gotta get me candy but he can't do that if he's hurt." Miu climbed off of Mirela, pulling the blankets with her. She blinked when she saw that Mirela wasn't in her nightgown. "Momma why'd you sleep in your clothes?"

"Oh.. I just fell asleep before I could change." She smiled and got up before straightening out her bed. "Miu, stay here with Auntie Inae, okay? I'm going to make sure that Daddy's alright." Mirela walked out of the room with Miu before picking up the case that Miu had gotten out of her dresser the night before. "I'll be back soon."

Mirela stayed calm as she walked down the stairs to make Miu think that everything was fine, but the moment she made it into Inae's shop her pace quickened as she went for the door.

--------------------

'Where do you think you're going?"

Surprised by Inae, Mirela ended up face first against the glass door. "To help. If something is going on then I plan on stopping it. Make sure Miu doesn't follow me." Without giving Inae a chance to respond, Mirela walked outside and quickly turned, running in the directions of the loud noises, clutching the case tightly against her chest as she ran.

--------------------

Letting out a small sigh, Inae stood and placed the deck that she had placed on the table the day before in a small pouch kept around her waist. "Like that harlot will be able to do anything to help. She's off doing nothing and I'm stuck here playing babysitter."

Making her way upstairs, Inae was greeted by Miu standing in the doorway. "Miu... Let's play a game."

"Oooh, what kind of game??"

"Hide and Seek. You go hide and I'll come find you. Ready?" She turned around and started to count down from ten, causing Miu to squeal and take off into another room.

"Five, four, three, two, one... Don't come out." Inae shook her head and went downstairs before heading out the door and locking it behind her. Turning her head in the direction of the noise, Inae let out a small sigh before calmly walking in that direction.

--------------------

Miu sat in silence, hidden inside Mirela's closet. She tried her best to stay quiet, peeking between the cracks of the door. 'Auntie Inae will never find me in here, I'll be super super quiet... Tee hee, I'm the best at this game.'

"s**t..."

Without thinking, Hikari turned to Kalan, the massive fire ball still barrelling at them. She jumped, her legs curling under her as she quickly reached the height of her ascent. With a swift movement, Hikari thrust her legs forward, her soles slamming into Kalan's chest, propelling the two back, the fire ball barely missing. Hikari hit the ground, quickly rolling back to her feet only to be met with a barrage of attacks from the surrounding cloaked men.

"We don't get a break do we!?"

"Go men! Shows these intruders what happens when you mess with our turf!"

As a cloaked Yolor hit the ground, the local street gang burst from the alleys, adding to the confusion. Hikari was now trapped in a three way struggle, but for what? Why were they even getting involved? As her head turned to the new commotion, a flaming fist slammed into her, sending her to the ground.

"You have the power...just remember how to use it..."

The message rang loud within her as she began to stand, her body flickering with light as she struggled to understand it. The cloaked Yolor now stood over Hikari, his fists set ablaze. A wicked smile formed under his mask as he raised his fist, bringing it down with the force to kill. His eyes widened as a shining hand grasped his, stopping his assault.

"J-jazz...Kobayashi!?"

"I'll rip you apart..."

A wicked smile came over Hikari's face, the words "Kill them all" ringing through her head. Shreds of her memories flashed through her mind as she jet up, her hand grasping Yolor's mask, her other hand now twisting his arm, the bone snapping. A yell rang out as small chinks of light ran up Hikari's arms, creating what looked to be chains. A second Yolor ran through the chaos, jumping, his fist aimed for Hikari as he descended. A lound crack resonated as his fist collided with a porcelain mask, bits of shrapnel flying from it.

"Foolish girl, you've let the wrong one take hold. Control that anger of yours."

Hikari's wide smile quickly snapped back into a small smirk, her shining eyes staring into Yolor's. The chains began to run up Yolor's arm, constricting him, before he felt his body being dragged. Hikari spun, slamming her captive into the suspended Yolor, their bodies flying.

Before she could take another step, a small silver blade was now at her throat, her light fading as she regained her composure.

"That's quite enough.

As the chaos raged, a small girl stood before Hikari. Her expression was that of an experienced warrior, but innocent in a way. Her outfit was strange, it's adornments resembling that of a church's. Hikari was dumbfounded, from the time she hit the ground to now was all a blur, her head pounding. A gulp rang out as a bead of nervous sweat rolled down her cheek, was this the end of her life?

The fireball flew past the two before slamming into a building causing the fireball to burst.
Tiny fireballs flew through the air slamming into stands and decorations setting the area behind them aflame.
Saken stared at the wall of flames, his ears picking up voices meaning others were on the other side of the flames.
Turning he move towards a nearby building to get over the flames.

Nala leaned around the corner of a nearby alley as the fight ensued between the Yolor's and the street gang.
Her eyes narrowed and reaching back she pulled the hood back onto her head before taking a step back into the alley.
Kalan walked out of the same alley before turning his attention to Hikari, seeing the light around her his eyes widened before he jumped back dodging a sword from one of the Yolor's.
He delivered a quick quick to the Yolor before making his way over to Hikari.
Seeing the chains leave Hikari's body Kalan stopped before holding his sword up in front of him instincts taking over.
"Chains...how can she-"
Kalan cut himself off as he noticed someone now in front of Hikari, she looked like a little girl but seeing her clothing reminded him of something.
He wanted to find out what but decided to put it aside seeing her blade at Hikari's throat.
"Hey young lady hold on," Kalan said taking a few steps forward addressing the newcomer. "She seems to have calm down now showing she has some restraint. Besides-"
Kalan pointed behind her.
"There's a bigger problem."
"Chains....."
Kalan flinched and lowered his finger before rubbing the side of his head.
"Oh bother."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A dark aura circled Saken as he looked down at the others, his eyes letting off a red glow as his right hand formed a claw at his waist.
His gaze was focused on Hikari the darkness flaring as he placed his foot on the edge of it.
Kalan's comforting words didn't reach him as a voice screamed in his head, growing louder the longer his gaze stayed on Hikari.
The flames danced wildly below as they continued to spread around the area as Saken felt his rage slowly consuming what patience lingered in him.
"I'll force those chains out of you through both ends!"
Saken jumped off the roof bringing his hand back as the darkness circled around it.
"Die!"

Kalan flexed his hand causing Straw to burst out of his sleeves, the gust causing his priest garment to flutter as the straw circled above them.
He lifted his hand causing the straw to form a dome around them before he hardened it.
Saken turned his body and rolled onto the dome before letting out an irritated groan.
He started punching at the dome the darkness flaring as his fist collided with the barrier.
"Kalan! You ba-"
"Can we stop attacking each other and focus on the fire wielding maniac!" Kalan interrupted.
Saken blinked a few times before turning and looking into the distance to see a woman burning everything around her.
A corkscrew of flames circled around her body intertwining as they grew high above the buildings around the woman.
"Don't hide Mr. Fairy! Come out and have some fun with me! It's been too long!"
Yolor held her hand up causing the flames dancing around her to lift into the air in currents.
The flames gathered above her forming a large flaming sun as her laughter echoed.
"Come and become ashes for my haven! Consume the world! The ashes of the weak shall bring forth my dream! Ahahahahaahah!"

The sun let out a bright glow before an explosion of energy burst forth from it.
Hundreds of tiny fireballs shot out the top of it and started raining down on Kalan's barrier as Yolor tried to destroy it.
Kalan kept his hands raised and looked at the two.
"Listen can we work together until this matter is handled. It's not like I don't have a business with her either."
A body burst through the barrier creating a hole through it.
Kalan started closing the hole as the Yolor started screaming as the flames consumed his body.
"I understand now why you kept getting new people in your forces," Kalan mumbled. "Do you really have to hurl your own men?"
Another body slammed through the barrier which allowed Saken to jump in before Kalan closed the hole.
Saken's eyes went to Hikari before looking at the little girl.
"....who's the brat?" Saken asked straightening himself.

Inae watched as Mirela continued running toward the danger, shaking her head as she followed behind her. She felt that the woman was foolish in her actions, but that really was no surprise because in Inae's mind, a lot of Mirela's actions were foolish. Inae glanced past Mirela just enough to see the commotion that awaited ahead before stopping in her tracks.

"Mirela! I don't think that you're going to be able to be of much help."

Hearing Inae, Mirela quickly stopped, her heels catching on the cobblestone streets. After making sure that she didn't fall, Mirela leaned up against a nearby post to catch her breath. "Why did you follow me?? I asked you to watch Miu." Regaining her composure, Mirela straightened herself and partially closed the distance between the two.

"No, you asked me to make sure Miu didn't follow you, and I did." Inae narrowed her eyes a bit at Mirela. "I followed you because I knew that you wouldn't be much help to whatever it is that's going on." Seeing the slightly irritated look on Mirela's face, Inae let out a small sigh and began walking toward the commotion.

"One would think that after going through a living hell, a person would be more inclined to avoid getting involved in dangerous situations. I suppose with you being a harlot, that wouldn't really apply to you. There's no need to worry about Miu, I left her pretty distracted."

--------------------

Meanwhile, back in Mirela's closet, Miu sat with her legs cuddled to her chest, hiding behind a few boxes and a row of dresses. The small child sat still in dead silence, waiting for Inae to come and find her. 'Hurry up, Auntie Inae...' Miu scrunched her nose as she finally began to shift and squirm a little. 'I gotta go poddy...'

--------------------

"Well, alright.." Mirela let out a small sigh. "Let's go, then." She started to walk alongside Inae, her placing her fingers on one of the latches on the case that she had been holding, ready to flip them open at any time. Her eyes were filled with worry as the two sisters continued forward. Mirela wanted to hurry onto the scene but managed to hold herself back, figuring that she needed to keep a level head. She didn't want to go and get herself killed. Not if she had the chance to finally live a happy life with her family and her lover. If anything, that reason alone made her more determined to help.

"Inae, have you ever wondered why things like this happen?"

"If you focus too much on the thread, the whole picture becomes undone." Chuckling a little bit at the slightly confused look on Mirela's face, Inae kept her attention forward. "Don't think about matters like that too much. Focus more on the present, Mirela. A wise piece of advice to follow so you don't end up getting yourself killed."

Giving a small nod, Mirela raised her head a little. "I'd rather not keep a closed mind about things like that, but you're right. There are more important things to worry about right now."

"See? Now shut up and find some way to be useful."

The small girl lowered her blade from Hikari's throat, brandishing it at her side. A tiny hand rose from her small blue cloak, gently pulling her beret down, hiding her face. The small figure slowly moved past Hikari into the fray, her sword letting off an otherworldly glow.

Hikari stood silent for only a moment before her fear was broken by the chaos around her. Saken, the boy she had only met once stood before her once more, and something deep within her despised his presence.

"Kalan was it? It seems the flaming woman knows you, care to share?"

Hikari placed a hand on the wall of Kalan's barrier, subconsciously pouring light into it, causing the sphere to glow brightly. Her eyes stared at Kalan, ignoring Saken's existence completely.

"And what do you know about that woman? Why did she give me this?"

Her eyes strained away only long enough to signal the light that consumed her hand. A sense of fear, curiosity, and rage filled the girl's eyes as she turned to the only man that seemed to grasp the situation.

Kalan watched as the little girl started walking into the battle opening the barrier for her to leave.
Approaching the light girl with that much speed and without hesitation while she was going berserk.
Something about that little girl reminded him of something but seeing how fire was still raining around them he put it aside.
"Saken offer her some backup okay," Kalan said looking over at him.
A part of him wanted to make sure she'd be alright the other wanted Saken far away from Hikari should his anger return to him.

Saken closed his eyes and took a deep breath before walking past Hikari, his eyes glancing over at her for a moment before focusing ahead.
He caught up to the girl and walked alongside her putting one hand in his pocket.
He glanced over at her before allowing darkness to cover his arm.
"Kalan asked me to offer you support."
One of Yolor's men jumped off one of the roof's and descended upon the two, Saken quickly turned and extended his hand sending a small focused beam of darkness knocking the Yolor back.
The Yolor landed on the ground and slid back before chuckling.
More Yolor's started walking out of the alleyways until they formed a small group around the chuckling Yolor.
"I'll make sure you don't get stabbed in the back, focus on taking out that annoying woman. The moment she's gone the sooner I can wrap that chain around that girl's neck."
The darkness around his arm took on a light glow before he took a step forward.
"Bring it then!"
Saken ran towards the group letting out a loud yell as he jumped into the crowd of Yolor's.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yolor grinned as the sun lowered consuming her entirely in it's red sphere before exploding into twelve smaller orbs of fire that hovered next to her.
A wide grin rested on Yolor's face as five of her men ran past her and towards the approaching Sora.
The orbs next to her started to take on a black glow as the fire around her started pouring into the orbs.
She lifted her arms holding them out to her sides before laughing as the fire started to grow larger around them.
One of the Yolor's ran forward and brought their sword diagonally down from the right towards Sora. The one behind the attacker prepared to stab Sora in the chest.
The other three were catching up as the first two attacked.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kalan looked at Hikari as she spoke to him before averting his gaze at her question.
He looked back towards the sky seeing the fire had stopped falling before dismissing the barrier the straw flying back into his sleeve.
He reached up and rubbed his arm checking the straw before looking at Hikari.
"Yes my name is Kalan and it seem I still don't know your name young lady," Kalan said with a small smile. "I'll answer your questions though."
Kalan looked over at Yolor who seemed be in her own little world which he took as an opportunity to explain.

"That woman over there used to be the eight commander of Reaper's forces seven years ago. She also used to be a man but I don't know or want to know why he's a woman now."
Kalan let out a small sigh before continuing and holding out his hand created a straw sword into it.
"I was the tenth commander so in a way we were comrades...but he liked to set me on fire in the past...quite often really."

Kalan looked at the light around her hand before bringing rubbing the back of his head.
He was silent for a moment a part of him not wanting to tell her out of sympathy.
However thinking more on it if she remained oblivious it probably wouldn't help the situation.
"That woman if I'm not mistaken is the deity of life in charge of bringing forth humans into the world....we call her Birth."
Kalan was silent for a moment allowing the information to take hold.
"I'm not sure if you know but deity's control the world we live in....death looks over the departed, Birth over creation of humanity. Luck....does nothing worthy of mentioning...but those are just a few."
Kalan went silent for a moment before looking back at Hikari.
"I've only seen that light of yours on one other person...and that was Jazz. Though sometimes arrogant that light of his was able to help banish the light from her heart...."
Kalan shook his head and chuckled a little bit.
"Sorry that's not answering your question. I don't know why she gave you that light...but if you have it then a heavy burden may have been placed upon you young lady."
Kalan turned back towards Yolor and turned fully towards him.
"I'll be glad to answer any of your questions whenever I can...however I only know what I know. I was on Reaper's side back then so my information on Birth herself is limited...actually on Reaper too....I don't know much about Jazz either....what do I know? Well anyway aside from all of that-"
Kalan cut himself off and hurled a piece of straw nailing a Yolor in the chest before drawing another from his sleeve and walking forward.
"For some reason or another I helped the previous owner of light...I'm willing to do the same for you...especially if they're are answers."

Kalan dashed forward and dodged a sword before raising his sword going through the Yolor only to turn and stab backwards into another Yolor's chest.
He turned around and gripped the sword before ripping it out sideways and shaking the blood off.
"I'd like some answers to my questions but for now I'd only like one answered...who are you?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Activating Contract number 476...summoning permitted now moving to seal release. Seal number eight has been released keep powers at limitation five unless otherwise indicated."
A large blue pentagram surrounded the west side of town, moving past the buildings causing strange letters to form along the buildings and streets.
"Keep contact with humans to a minimum use spirit plane to materialize, only move to real plane upon attack."
The pentagram eventually came to an end almost touching the northern part of town, the letters let out an ominous blue glow.
The letter's lifted a few feet off the pentagram before they started spinning forming a sphere of letters.
"Acknowledge the contracts specifics, temporary mastership of banished number 24 now active."
The tavern owner stood on the roof of a building holding his arm out his hand letting out a small blue glow.
"Come and obey the contract."

The letters came together forming a large blue line that shot towards the sky.
It came to a stop once it reached a high enough height to view the battle below.
The light expanded until it formed a large blue muscular chest with a large black letter on it and spikes going down the hips of the large torso.
Red claws formed on the blue hands of the creature before it lowered it's body, a round blue head coming into view.
The creatures had shaggy white hair that went down the sides of it's head covering it's ears.
The creature let out a low growl causing red smoke to flow out of it's mouth as it's yellow eyes peered down at Yolor.
"Patience do not materialize yet."

As the two sisters drew closer to the battle, Inae narrowed her eyes slightly, her tiny hand making its way to the pouch resting upon her waist, feeling bad vibes resonating within her. "Mirela, are you sure you want to get involved? Something doesn't feel quite rig--..." Inae cut her own sentence short as a loud thud was made right beside her feet. Shaking her head with an irritated sigh, she turned her attention up to Mirela, only to see that her attention had become fixated on the battle before her. Inae brought her attention forward once more, pulling a card out of her pouch while keeping her head held high.

"You know, you look stupid with that serious look on your face..."

Mirela continued to stare forward, deaf to Inae's words, her legs spread a small distance apart, the 'pretty' case lying open on the ground next to her. Her hands were now occupied by cutely designed viola, colored pink and white. As the viola rested upon her shoulder, its bow remained at Mirela's side, being held tightly in her grip. It was then that her sister's words sunk into her mind, only to trigger a response.

"Inae. It's not like I'm just going to stand back and let chaos take over. Our comrades are already fighting, we need to help them."

Without another word toward Inae, Mirela raised her bow to the viola's strings and quickly began to walk forward, keeping her attention focused on the battle. As she arrived onto the scene, she glanced over to Kalan before a small smile crossed her lips. "This isn't the best 'good morning,' is it? Sorry we're late. Care to get me up to speed on the situation before I start attacking out of nowhere?"

"Mindless chatter is going to get you killed. Now, I hate wasting time, so this needs to end quickly." Inae stood a few feet behind Mirela, knowing that staying behind everyone else would be the best place for her. Her face remained without expression as she held her card in front of her.

"Tarot VIII - Strength."

As the words left Inae's lips, a bright purple light emitted from the ground in front of her. A dark purple, wispy sword formed before her before lifting high into the air. Following the sword's release, a purple, wispy figure of a tall and very well-endowed woman beside Inae, her right arm raised to the sky.

The sword began its descent, only to be caught by the wispy woman as it neared the ground. As the woman brandished the sword, Inae placed her card into her free hand, causing the woman to take on a more human-like form.

The woman stood tall, her long, straight, light blonde hair gently falling into place behind her. Her crystal blue eyes glimmered in the light, only to be matched by the shimmer of the silver and light blue crystal jewelry adorned on her body.

Her pink formal dress hugged her voluptuous body, her pink gloves stopping just above her elbows.

The woman shared the same expressionless look as Inae. She remained quiet for a few moments, glancing down at Inae as she took a step forward.

"M'lady, what is the reason you summon me?"

Her voice was a smooth mixture between gentleness and pride. After speaking, she remained silent, awaiting a response.

"Protect myself and my allies. Help us put a stop to those wishing to bring an end to the peace that was fought so hard for in the past."

'Very well, M'lady. I will use my sword for this reason, and this reason alone." Strength watched as Inae took a few steps back. When she felt that Inae was safe, Strength turned her attention to Yolor before locking her attention onto her. She quickly ran forward, rapier at the ready, only to stop beside Kalan upon hearing Inae's voice.

"Strength, unless I say otherwise, you are to follow the orders of our comrades if you deem them fit to follow. Understood?"

"Yes, M'lady." Strength glanced over to Kalan, remaining quiet for a few moments before speaking once more. "I'll leave you to decide the plan of action."

Mirela narrowed her eyes a bit at Strength seeing her stand near Kalan, but instead of saying anything, she simply shook her head and turned her attention back to Yolor, ready and willing to end things as quickly as possible so she could go back home to check on Miu. 'Miu, please still be inside...'

--------------------

Miu remained hidden in Mirela's closet, unable to stop squirming. 'I REALLY gotta go poddy... Huuuuurry Auntie Inae... Hurry...!' She had started to get a bit impatient, almost on the verge of vocalizing the whines that she had managed to keep inside of her.

Hikari stood dumbfounded, the question ringing through her head as the carnage ensued around her. Who was she? She herself had never asked that question, her tattered memories, the past she could remember. Who was Hikari Kobayashi? When was she born? Where did she live her life? All this time, Hikari had just accepted the life she had in the bakery. A chilled breeze blew through the square over the battle, her hair gusting through the wind as she stood. For a moment, the world seemed to go silent, the world around her shattering as a harsh reality had set in.

"Who...am I?"

The carnage around Hikari continued as she stood motionless, everything Kalan had said began to register in her mind. Her jaw dropped slightly as she had realized a key fact.

"I've only seen that light of yours on one other person...and that was Jazz. Though sometimes arrogant that light of his was able to help banish the light from her heart...."

Jazz, a name that Hikari had only heard a few times in her life. Jazz Kobayashi, the hero from seven years ago, the angelic demon, and the envoy of light. Each titles that she had known this man by, and though they shared the same name, "Father" was never a title she could even imagine. Books told of his heroism against the deities, while others hated the name, blaming him for the destruction so long ago.

Now before Hikari was a man that could possibly answer some questions about the man that seemed to be linked to her. Who was Kalan really? and who's darkness was he speaking of?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Hikari stood in thought the carnage carried on. The young cloaked woman briskly walked through the crowd, her sword swinging, slicing down any foolish enough to get in her way. As she closed in on the true Yolor, her blade began to glow brightly, as if reacting to the psychotic pryomaniac. The girl reached up, pulling her hat down, her hair shading the fury in her eyes.

"I'm tired of your games...this is our turf, I think it's time you left it."

As the gust of wind blew over the field, the young girl's cape fluttered behind her, her feet slowly lifting off of the ground. A pulse of light shot from her sword as she brandished it at her side. Her foot hit the ground momentarily before she lunged forward, rocketing off as she levitated above the ground, her free hand finding it's way to the hilt of her blade. As she came close to the leader of the cloaked army, she gripped the hilt, bringing her blade up slashing at the woman responsible for today's carnage.

"In the name of the Azure Wings, I Sora will kill you!"
