[EXAM] Professor Malcolm (Group 7)

Herryk was utterly and completely nervous about this exam. Then again, who wouldn't be? The self-doubt weighed heavily on his mind. What if he hadn't practiced enough? What if he hadn't spent enough time sparring? He supposed it didn't matter. It was far too late to worry about these things now.

Herryk moved into the classroom, peering around at the boats that floated almost peacefully on the water. Stepping into the one he'd been assigned, Herryk did his best to maneuver across the water. He was surprised at how well he did -- the boat wibbled terrifyingly, but despite that, Herryk made it past the traps.

With something that looked suspiciously like glee, Herryk slipped past the next set of traps. He paused, letting himself bask in the moment. His first exam. This meant something, this was important. Herryk drew in a deep breath before making his way towards the next set of traps.

If he could do this, he could do anything. Freya would be so proud.

Okay, maybe he shouldn't have gotten cocky.

Tentacles squirmed around the boat, a violet color that reminded Herryk briefly of the ghoul he'd met at the Floresctival. They'd discussed fitness club.

Herryk beat those tentacles back with one of the oars.

Herryk slammed his oar for what felt like hours before he gave up. The tentacles seemed to enjoy toying with him, and after the passing of a few long, stressful moments, the purple tentacles gave Herryk a flick on the nose before sinking slowly back beneath the surface of the water.

Picking himself off the bottom of the little boat, Herryk once more situated himself in the boat so that he could row forward with ease. He made it through the traps with no tentacles harassing him, and that felt pretty good.

Gripping the oars tightly, Herryk paused before starting forth once more.

Herryk was so close that he could taste it. The end of the water loomed before him, and Herryk picked up speed. Once more he zipped past all of the traps without incident before forging ahead through the next -- hopefully final -- set of traps that were laid out before him.

So close, and yet so far away. Herryk was reminded of the seriousness of this exam as he peered into the water, catching sight of the bits of broken and splintered wood that looked like pieces of a boat that hadn't quite made it all the way to the end.

Herryk did not want to be THAT unlucky student.

With great deftness and precise moves, Herryk safely maneuvered his way through the planks of wood. He felt like some sort of master boat-rower or some s**t, that's how awesome he felt. Maybe he should start a rowing club or something. That was a good idea, actually.

Okay, somehow he'd gotten someone else trapped in this particular trap with him. Not only that, there was a fishing net that had wrapped around his oar. This was just great. It looked like the two others had already either passed or failed, so Herryk wasn't going to ask for help. With a resigned sigh, he took to the task of freeing himself from the net.

His big fingers were not helpful in his attempts to free himself from the net. With another, louder sigh, Herryk decided that he should forge ahead with a net attached to his oar. Maybe it would help him go faster.

Surprisingly enough, Herryk made it through the last set of traps without a hitch. Bobbing around in the water at the end of the gauntlet of traps, Herryk waited patiently for the Professor.

He'd made it!

He was actually rather disappointed, but tried not to let it show too much after Sparrow was freed from the nets. Instead, he gave the Reaper a pat on his back, "Good try, Knob."
