Aimee turned too Ben, her smile was back as she thought about going someone in Europe, a place she only knew as beautiful. "Thank you, Ben." She looked away as she took her seat in the booth, getting herself comfortable before speaking again. "You know I am glad we met. Even if that was so long ago and it was by sheer coincidence. I don't know if I ever told you that." The blonde looked up at her friend with bright lavender eyes filled with hope, kindness, and thanks for the raven haired boy she called her friend. Once she was through talking her mind went immediately towards the food in front of her. Aimee openned a bag of gummies that were all different shapes and sizes, but also very sour. Her eyes then wandered to the open kitchen in the back, her smile almost returning. "Let's see if it works still. We could have a feast. Maybe." The girl knew she was being sparatic but she was getting nervous again about leave and what could happen when they tried to go away.

Benicio entered the kitchen and just as he expected, things were still pristine, glimmering blindly with utensils that had been unscathed by the recent bombings and fumigation assaults set into the area by the Men in Suits. Like the male he was, he was attracted first the to the sharpest object in the room. It was a cutting knife. The blade was as long as his wrist and it's cutting edge was perfectly sharp for a knife that had been in use for as long as it had. "I found one thing that works. Just gotta see if the electri--okay, they work too!" Given just a moment of tinkering, the raven haired man found that the stove and oven were still operational...very much operational. A blue flame leaped from the eye of the stove and licked at him before simmering into a dull flow of gas. Thanks to his power, his natural weakness was fire. From the booth, Ben was sure Aimee could hear his panicked panting.
Standing back up, the boy approached the freezer looking for something to cook. There was a fridge stocked with food that hadn't been opened. Meatballs, mozzarella sticks, Rigatoni and many different pastas lined frigid the rectangular holding space. Benicio's eyes lit up as he removed a bag, sliced it open and laid it across an open metallic table. One of it's contents had fallen. As a firm believer of the five second rule, he went down on one knee to retrieve it. When his hand fell upon the cold, frozen stick of fried cheese, the unwelcome guest that he hoped would be anywhere near was only inches from his face. A wolf, gnashing, furrowed and poised for attack was breathing against his nose....

Aimee was sitting in the booth where all the candy was at, her eyes were stuck to the picture of Italy but her mind was else where. The thought of having a good life after the one she had was some what a shock to the blonde haired girl. Her life consisted of constant neglect and beating, which was all done away with by the bombings that had first happen. Her life seemed to brighten as the first bomb hit, which was right on her house, her abusive father and alcoholic mother dead in an instant, her pain and misery gone just as fast. Not a single tear was shed when that happened, which she was sure Ben had noted when it happened.
Suddenly, as if a wake up call, she starts to smell what seems like a dirty animal, a dog more of. Aimee looks away from the painting, coming back to the current world as she stood slowly, calling to her friend. "Ben? Is everything alright?" She slowly tip toed to the kitchen, which was an open one where you could see into it and watch the cooks toss food around like they were jugglers in a circus. Aimee stands on her toes as she looks through the window and sees Ben face to face with a wolf, something they had bad past battles with. The blonde covered her mouth, then made the door slam to the freezer, something to hopefully distract the wolf as Ben got up at least or out of the kitchen into the open space of the restaurant.

Staring into the face of what be his certain death, the young man began to scowl angrily. The eyes of the wolf, which were like dark marbles swirling and twinkling with absolute malice and intention, were matched only by the arcing trails of saliva that dripped hungrily from its obviously war sharpened teeth. Benicio's rage at the animal was at first a small flicker of what could be an explosion. Within in seconds, that's just what it was. An explosion of focused rage. What this dog represented in his mind was the wall that constantly appeared before just as his life seemed to illuminate. Hell, to him it was the same as a storm on what was otherwise a perfectly beautiful day. With the same furious snarl, he gnashed his teeth at the beast and gripped what he'd bent down to lift.
"Aimee, don't come in here...go back to the booth and stay there for me please. Alright?" Ben's tone was calm, gentle as it always was with the girl, but surely, she'd feel the angered and half-frightened undertones in his partially quaking voice. He lifted his hand to a point where he knew it'd be visible to her and waved. After that motion was complete, the dark haired hair boy swung his fist upward in an uppercutting motion. The wolf leaped forward, but before it could shred the face of the young empowered kid, a few thick wooden roots shot through the tiles of the kitchen floor and pinned the wolf against the wall. Angered further, Benicio pressed his power forward and the roots continued to push against the limbs of the captive animal. Before long, it's front legs were broken...snapped under the pressure of the nature based offense and it's body was finally pushed through the thick wall. End result was a whimpering wolf with two broken legs attempting to crawl away. It was lucky to still be alive Ben thought. Turning his back on it, he called out to Aimee, "Alright. You okay in there?"

Aimee watched as Ben waved her off, knowing he was just looking out for her safety and well being, but even so it made her a little upset. She nodded and proceeded to step backwards to begin to turn around, which ended with her flat on her back surrounded by wolves. The snarls and the drool mixed in with the eyes that seemed to take no prisoners, Aimee froze, her brain blank as if she had never seen a creature like this before. Her eyes wandered from face to face of the wolves, hoping to find some way out. As one snapped at her leg, she kicked back as a reflex, a pipe shooting through the floor and knocking the wolf against the wall. The rest of the wolves jumped in, only to hit a metal dome that Aimee had made for herself to keep them away. Inside, the small girl had curled into a ball and put her hands over her ears, the echo of the snarls and scratching of the carnivorous beasts rang like bells in her ears.
"Ben!" Aimee called out, only to almost deafen herself as the reverb bounced back. She flinched and tightened in more, her only thought was about how worried she was for Ben, knowing the anger her had for these animals. "Please make them go away..." The frightened girl whispered, she never knew how to fight more than one of them, and her powers weren't stable like Ben's to where it would last for a long time. Just as she thought about her powers, a dent was formed by one of the wolves, then another, and another. Soon there were dents everywhere, closing in on the blonde haired girl who was almost in tears.

"..." Things weren't looking as peaceful anymore. Apparently a pack of wolves had followed them from the grocery store to this restaurant and like the pack of smart beasts they were, they waited quietly for this moment to strike them. This moment, where the two had finally managed to find some kind of sustenance for the night as well a bit of time to unwind and remove the burdens that had been weighing them both down for months, had to be the moment of choice for theses quadruped bastards to make their move. Benicio was fuming now and the tiles of the Italian restaurant seemed to tremble as more roots began to circulate beneath all of them. At the call of Aimee's frightened voice, he exited the kitchen placing the cleaver on a nearby counter and gazed upon the situation with eyes shimmering furiously like lightning. The young man was angry and with his power over nature, he intended to telegraph this to his attackers as loud as he could.
Three wolves. Nothing tough for the boy. The one that was atop the metallic dome was the first to go. By it's leg, Benicio caught it with a vine and violently whipped it to the other side of the restaurant. After breaking through a stained glass and few bottles of wine, it slammed into a wall with a hard, loud thump and a resounding crack. Undoubtedly, this wolf had died upon contact with the wall. The second one which seemed to be the alpha male was studded with dark fur and had white rings around it's eyes. This one ran at Benicio, but was stopped by a root smacking him down the aisle into another. It was waiting for him from the start of the attack. When it was caught, it was yanked into a rather narrow hole. The last sounds it made weren't in the least pleasant as it was a mixture of yelps and cries which were soon stifled by the sounds of it's body cracking nearly in two. The last one that was left....didn't seem to be as aggressive as the other three. This one seemed to be more obedient after the display and even brushed itself against the wooden devil's leg. "Aimee. You can---you can come out now. I think someone wants to apologize for the trouble too." said Benicio in a tone still echoing his passing rage. Looking down at the wolf, he only scowled. He didn't like dogs, but if this one wasn't going to attack, then neither was he.

Aimee heard Ben's voice after silence, which in this case for her was like an angel's voice saving her from a burning hell. The dome slowly broke into pieces to show the curled up ball that was Ben's friend, who slowly uncurled from her ball and brushing off the metal pieces of what was left of the safest place in this town. She slowly got on all fours, only to look up and meet the stare of the 'obedient' wolf. Aimee froze again, determining if she should trust it or not. As the dog rubbed against everything in sight, she slowly got up, not taking her eyes off it for a second. Aimee was frightened of those things, even when they were all... mushy like this one was.
"Get it out of here, please..." She said softly, walking away to the bathroom with her hand on her mouth and nose. The blonde haired girl felt sick to her stomach, the aroma of blood, dog, and dead corpses laying in the restaurant got to her. Aimee went into a stall and sat on the floor, leaning against the cold wall. She looked at her hands and started to cry, putting them over her face as her weeping echoed through the bathroom. She hated crying in front of any one, especially Ben. She was supposed to be the happy one, but this, it was the last straw and she finally broke down.

Ben's all but quiet rage had calmed now that the threat had been relieved. What was now a roaring flame was just a smoldering pile of ash waiting to be ignited again. The one wolf, that was either a coward or smarter than the rest of the pack didn't seem to want to bring the two any harm. For it's sake, that was perfect, but maybe not for Aimee who had raced off to the bathroom. Apologetically, he watched the girl stand up and leave and scratched the bushy mane atop his head. He nudged the animal next to his ankle and sighed in slight annoyance. This thing...this wolf could be useful to them in the near future. Tomorrow maybe. Their food was untouched and surely, it wouldn't be going anywhere. Picking up the dog, he walked to the bathroom.
"Aimee." Ben called to the weeping girl in the stall. "Aimee. Come out of there please...this isn't going to hurt us alright? I'm pretty sure I scared it straight or something." The young man slid down the outside wall of the stall allowing the animal to sit on all fours. He raised a hand to the wall and knocked on it to get Aimee's attention if he hadn't already and chuckled moments afterwards. "C'mon. We can name it and it can be our pet. If you want, you can name it..."

Aimee heard as Ben's footsteps grew nearer and entered the bathroom, her tears stopping almost immediately but a sob or two was let out. The blonde girl grabbed some toilet paper and wiped her eyes, listening to her friend outside the stall. As she finished wiping them dry, Ben slid down the wall which made it creak a little, sighing as if the weight was just another problem it had in it's life. As Aimee got up slowly, her thoughts went to naming the monster that had almost ripped her throat out. She brushed herself off and pushed open the stall door, stepping out to look at her friend with red, puffy eyes.
"Let's call him Monstro. Not really monster but it's sorta a name." The blonde haired girl pushed out a small smile towards Ben, kneeling down and looking him in the face. "I am sorry I freaked out... These things terrify me..." She slowly nodded towards Monstro, putting a hand on his back and rubbing it slowly, watching his reaction towards it. "He isn't that bad I guess..." She smiled a little more as the wolf licked her hand, a small sign of obedience towards her. "I guess we can keep him."

Benicio, who was still sitting beneath the warm body of the calm, rather passive wolf, smiled when Aimee had exited the bathroom. Her eyes were red and still they were damp from her recent weepings. Like a child, he held back his laughter for her sake and to be nice, he even let her name the beast. The name she came up with however only made him want laugh even more. The boy patted Monstro's back and it lifted from his knees to it's height. Benicio then stood up and looked out at the table where the food was left. It was still there, the kitchen wasn't destroyed and none of the food was taken.
"Eheheh. Monstro hm?" asked Ben before scratching his head with a smirk. "It's a name yes, but this guy....I don't think he's the violent type. Or maybe he hasn't been provoked yet." After looking around the room for a bit, Ben went back to the kitchen and ignited the stove once more. Now he had an extra mouth to feed, but he didn't mind it one bit. Cooking for him was just a hobby and showing off at it was a past time. "You should tell me the story behind the fear Aimee. It'll help me pass the time while I cook."

Aimee punched Ben's arm, a sign not to mess with her at the moment when she was like this. "Fine. We will call it Luna. Seems like it'll fit." She watched the dog pant as if it had ran a really long way to get to here in the last five minutes. Aimee then leaned against the wall in the kitchen out of her friends way so he could cook and get his groove going, something that always impressed Aimee since she never learned to cook because her mom was never awake or sober during dinner time. The blonde slid to the floor, pushing a couple strands of hair back behind her ear as she got comfortable.
"I was a little girl, back before you met me. My parents had locked me outside the house and didn't even bother to let me inside. I was sitting on the front step, I remember the light above the door was flickering off and on. Then out of the darkness these eyes were looking at me, yellow and hungry. The eyes came closer and I thought it was a dog, but it shaggier, dirty, hungry. My first ever encounter with a wolf. It looked at me as a piece of meat, something to tide him over. He started running at me, I screamed which woke up the neighbors. Next thing I remember was a dead wolf body on me, bleeding all over my favorite pajamas. The neighbor had shot it before it could get me but it still... it left a huge mark on me..." As Aimee finished her story, she realized her hands were shaking, either from the memory or hunger she didn't know.

"Well, when you put it that way Aimee, I can understand your fear. As long as I'm around, you won't have that problem understand? I made short work of those big bad wolves. I can do it again." promised Benicio before attending to the oven and stove once more. This time, there were no interruptions. There was Aimee and their new pet Luna, but those two weren't much of a bother as cooking was almost second nature to the young empowered man. Setting the oven to bake and the stove's four eyes to simply heat up, he gathered a pot, two pans and a baking sheet. "You like pastries right Aimee? Do cinnamon buns sound good to you?" Grinning like a kid in a candy store, Ben began to walk around the kitchen gathering up the ingredients to what he intended to make.
He found steak, more mozzarella sticks, different kinds of noodles, and lobsters in fresh water. The dark red crustaceans brought him both to tears and had him drooling at the thought of dipping the meat of one of them into butter. Their claws were bound, so picking the biggest one from the tank wasn't an issue. "Well, no more Monstro huh? I'm guessing you're a fan of the moon or something? Oh, and pick something out that you want to cook. I intend to eat until I'm full this evening."

The blonde haired girl got up, listening to Ben's promise which only received a nod back, a sign to which she was thinking. She walked into the fridge and looked around, thinking of things she could have. "That sounds delicious." Aimee spoke louder so he could hear her, the walls being think in there. She walked out of the chilly room and shut the door, rubbing her hands a little. "Chicken Alfredo please, Ben. There is some in the freezer when you are ready to cook. I am gonna go cover the windows." Aimee smiled a little and walked back into the restaurant portion and walked up to the broken windows, jumping through them to the outside.
The girl moved her hand to the side, uncovering a huge metal piece that could easily fit over the windows. She slowly brought her hand towards her until the sheet made contact with the building. Aimee then stuck her hand out to a broken beam from a close building, bringing it up to use it as a grip to keep the large piece of metal over the windows. She melted the two pieces together and made sure it wouldn't move. This was to ensure that no one saw the lights coming from the restaurant as they ate, who knew what else was in this city. Aimee walked in through the door and closed it shut, melting the lock closed. They were safe for now, they could enjoy the evening and actually eat in peace.

Benicio's culinary ability was never honed nor sharpened thanks to the populace being wiped out before he had the opportunity to shadow anyone. Even with just amateur skill, he was still better than most of the cooks in the area when there were still cooks in the area. His eyes were upon the stove, inspecting it's model, it's size and everything else he may have found pertinent. The spices were above him and not far from his reach at all. After Aimee left to batten down the hatches, Ben had went to boiling the pasta and the lobster that put up a bit of a fight to stay alive. Staring dejectedly at the pot over which he held the top down, he only hoped that in some kind of afterlife, the clawed creature understood that this had to be done. They were both animals after all.
Through his slender fingers, Ben twirled a rather sizable knife before catching it in his palm. The blade came down onto the thawed chicken as he prepared it for the main course. A few pieces went to the cutting board and others went to Luna. The wolf ate as if it hadn't had anything in a good while and it's tail wagged showing that it was enjoying it's meal. "Hmm. Even raw chicken tastes good when I serve it. Glad you like it." Looking over his shoulder back into the main part of the restaurant, Benicio spoke out to Aimee, "Food should be done in fourty five minutes alright!? Should be enough time to get settle in for now!"

"You don't have to scream, I am right here." Aimee was leaning on the door frame, watching him cook. "There are sheets, bed sheets. I guess a family lived in another part of the restaurant. They are comfy so if we decide to stay here for the night, we have the means to do it without sleeping on the floor." The blonde pushed her hair back over her shoulder, her eyes stuck on Ben's figure. "So I'll get the table ready then." She turned on her heel and proceeded to the drawers on the opposite end of the kitchen, her blonde hair swung around as she walked.
Aimee grabbed silverware for both her and her friend, cleaning them again in the sink to make sure neither one of them got sick. She remembered the only other time she got sick and Ben was there for her while she basically puked her guts out and was on the verge of dying. Times were hard without the doctors around, especially if they got a cut or broke something, which hasn't happened yet and would hopefully not happen ever until they actually got out of this hell hole. As she snapped out of her dream, she dried off the silverware and walked to the table. She set it up and smiled at her accomplishment, sitting down and waiting now for the food.
