Ember stared at him in slight shock before beginning to laugh, he was worried about her, her of all people, the fire herald. taking her hand she waved it in front of her as if to push away his ideas of protection, "you really don't have to worry about me, of all people who should be worried it really is you" she chuckled and rested back into a pile of her cushions, "i really don't need to leave, i don't even think the person who hired the thug is aware that you put me up to this charade, good news is, there is only one person who knew i was searching for Angi's killer too, so i do believe you have a main suspect." she smiled, and rested her head back into the pillow, she wanted to sleep a bit. "you are right in assuming i might want to stay away from home though, perhaps ill stay here, there are plenty of people, i don't think anyone would try anything among a crowd of guests and other employees, i can stay... at least till you find a way to pin the culprit."

Cyril frowned a little at her nonchalant refusal and saying that she would stay here. He replied simply, "I don't think that's a good idea. If you're staying here, you'll be all alone, and all it would take is for them to send a few 'clients' to see you, and that'd be the end of it. If you stay at my office, no one would know you were there, and even if they did, I'd be able to keep an eye on things." Cyril wasn't quite sure why he was so opposed to Ember staying here at the club instead of at his office where he could keep an eye on her. Mostly it was because he didn't want to see her get hurt, but was it just because of the case, or was it for some other reason? Cyril wasn't sure why, all he was sure about was that he didn't want anything bad to happen to Ember.

Ember gave him a slightly devilish smile as he refused to let her stay, " you know you shouldn't be taking a girl you just met to bed without even buying her dinner, and here i thought you were refusing my services because you were a gentleman" she purred and scooted closer to him while running her hand over his thigh again, "dont worry about me Mr Callahan, i am a big girl, and have more than a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to defending myself" she hummed and walked her fingers up his stomach and chest, careful of his swelling injury, "you should really have that checked you know, just incase you dont have any internal bleeding" she pulled back and made herself a nice nest in the pillows, "you can stay here as long as you want detective, ill be sleeping though" with that she waited for sleep to catch up with her and when she woke up in the morning he was nowhere to be found, somewhat to her dismay.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday That morning Ember had actually been excited, she hoped that Cyril had not forgotten, after all he had gone to the length of saving her the evening after making plans. unfortunately she had very few outfits to chose from since she did not want to risk going home to a trap, but she was hoping that the Detective might join her in a little shopping spree before they went for food, she had told him to come early hadn't she? she huffed as she realized she was acting like a fool. this man was just another among many, why would she feel this way for the blue eyed gentleman.

After Ember had fallen asleep, Cyril had stayed for a little while longer, before leaving and telling Harry where she was and the situation. After that, Cyril made his way back to his office and passed out on his couch in the office. When Thursday rolled around, Cyril was dressed for the evening, a little nicer than normal, but nothing too fancy. Ember had asked him to come by early, so that's what he did. He put on his holster under his jacket and headed out. He was meeting her at the club, since she did wind up taking his advice and stayed away from home. Once he was in the club, he made his way to Ember's private room and knocked lightly. He was a little anxious, he wasn't entirely sure how the night would turn out. He didn't want to make a fool of himself, and it had been quite a while since he'd been out to dinner with a woman. Sighing lightly, he ran a hand through his hair, he tried thinking about things other than where the night could lead.

Ember opened her door to see a nervous detective behind it. She smiled to him and left it open while she turned back inside to grab a few more small things, "good, you are here early, now i can drag you through the shopping district, since you seem so keen on my safety" she returned still wearing the most modest dress she could have found in the entire club, and even that was still a little... showy, specially combined with her red hair. She had thought to put on the hat that went with the outfit, but thought better of it. As cute as it would have been to see Cyril turn bright red Ember did not think it was overly practical. Although it paid good money to do so here in the club, Ember did not like to attract too much attention outside of it, and a provocative costume would do such that. "i haven't gone back to my place for clothes, and other necessities so we shall have to buy them then, unless you wish to escort me back to my room?"

Cyril sighed and moved the things he was carrying so he could run his hand through his hair. He was exhausted, and they hadn't even been to dinner yet. He was carrying around 8 bags full of clothes and other things that Ember had seen fit to buy and luckily Cyril was around to carry all of it. "Should we head back to your room at the club before heading to dinner?" Cyril asked as he shifted the weight of the many bags so he could actually walk straight. "We've got some time before we have to get to the restaurant, gives us enough time to make it to the club, get ready and then head downtown." He looked over at the redhead walking next to him, hoping he would be able to put the bags down at some point.

Slightly distracted she blinked as she relaized the young detective was talking to her, she only had one bag, but he was carrying the rest. "Ah, fine, we can drop off my stuff at the club, and then you can tell me where we are going" she smiled and started to lead the way again feeling somewhat pampered today, shopping and being followed by a young man who was carrying her purchases, she was certainly enjoying being her age and ageless right now.
Carrying her items in through the lounge and to the back she waved at those cleaning the place before leading Cyril through to the room, less pillows filled it now, havign to actually accommodate a human being for more than just pleasure she had asked for a mattress and had set it up in the corner of the room with the pillows scattered on it and a blanket somewhere in there, rather messy like, but Ember wasn't really one to care about cleaning her room up. Taking bags she wondered of the outfits she had recently bought which one would be the best to change into for dinner. "you made reservations right? where are we going for dinner tonight?" despite being a constant for several wealthy patrons Ember had never really been taken to any of the restaurants about the town, she often simply ate a snack here at the club or found something to put together at the market by her apartment.
