SIC VIS PACEMPARA BELLVM Gerulf looked at the man. His face betrayed the smallest glimmer of the cogs clicking away behind his narrowed eyes. "Vhy you say?" Gerulf chuckled. "You may already haff a gun, but you do nicht haff a gun like zat. For some reason you Americans like der revolfers, ja? Zat ist a German C-96 Mauser. It has a 10 round magazine, unt ist able to be fired very fast, ja?" Gerulf really wished he could smoke. "If you really vant ze money, zen how doss $25 sound?"

Shayla Fagan "I am a passable cook, I don't need steak I can make do with most cuts really. Besides living high off the hog doesn't seem all its made up to be. Some of the toppers I alter and make clothes for seem as miserable as those who shiver int he cold. Only difference is their cold is in their heart and soul and is much harder to be rid of." Taking the ratty dishtowel from the counter she picked the pot off the stove and set it down on the Worden coaster in the middle of her table. "Take a seat, eat as much as ya like." she said as she put some old chipped bowls on the table they were carved from wood and deep, they showed wear and tare and had been brought from the old country. They may not look like much but they were one of her few prized possessions.

Brian O'CallighanBrian sat down. The food smelt wonderful. He took a bite. It tasted just how is his mom use to make it. "It would seem that way. No one truly being happy." He at more of the food. To him it was better than steak. "So Shayla how long have you been in the United States?" He always wondered about that. Those that were here longer knew more about the cities and people. "I'm just curious. You know the city well and I don't know at all."

Shayla Fagan "I was a babe in arms when my family moved here. Fro my father and brothers to have a better chance...." She said sadly. Taking a breath to steady herself she continued but, they ended up working the docks like they had back in Ireland and just like we feared would happen they met with death, we though an accident...we never thought they would be murdered." She said as she sat opposite Brian and served herself. She began to eat but her eyes glazed over and she was thinking of the past, why did they come here to this hell? It hadn't changed a damn thing!

Brian O'CallighanBrian nodded. "I got here about a year ago or so ago." He said eating. "Life can be cruel. When I was running to the docks in Ireland my brother was shot." He looked at her and tried to smile. "This good." He said trying to change the subject. "Tastes like my moms cooking." He could stop eating. It was probly the best meal he had for a while. And the company was nice.

Shayla Fagan "cooking and sewing are my only domestic skills, as you cant tell from this place i can't clean to save my own home." That at least made her smile. Now that she was alone no more scolding about things not being neat as a pin. Her Ma and sisters were the 'perfect' ladies calm, polite and tidy. She had not heard form them in awhile but she knew they were safe and well. "So, if you came for a new start how did you ened up a low life mobster like the rest?" She asked not even considering fro a moment how her question sounded.

Brian O'CallighanBrian laughed. "Good question." He said. "Not a places want an Irish smith working in factories. And I guess a sense of identity. A place where I belong and my skills are respected." He looked around then back at her. "As for clean... I could care less." He smiled. His shop at the basement of the club looked worse then her home. "My little shop at the club has gun parts, knives, bullets, and tools everywhere." He thought a bit his shop. "Now that I really think of it. I'm surprised I haven't broken anything yet."

Brian Tate That was huge. Heck, that's more than what he made in a week of work. This was a huge opportunity, and he could shove this in his fathers face too. This would remove him from his fathers shadow, an ultimate act of defiance and deviance from what his father wanted and demanded of him. "Twenty five dollars? Where should I take you, mister...?" That was good, and he was taking him up on his offer, getting him to the squad car so as to not raise suspicions. As much as he wanted to do this, he also didn't want it becoming public knowledge. His father would have no qualms in putting him in jail if he ever found out. "What is your name anyway?"

Shayla Fagan "I am convinced there must be a minotaur down there. There are so many boxes and little rooms, I am surprised you haven't been lost in its chaos." She got up as the tea kettle began to whistle. Taking a white teapot off the shelf she dusted it with the rag she had used as a pot holder,, then scooped some tea leaves into it and poured in the hot water. The jasmine and black tea smelled nice and as she set it on the table and walked back to get her little jar of sugar, the honey and some milk. "How do you take your tea Brian?" she asked as she set out his cup, after she added a little honey and filled her own.

Brian O'Callighan"There is." Brian said trying to be serious. "It's me." when she offered him he wasn't sure. "Never had tea before. But I will try it normal I guess." He never drank tea in his life. He hears of it. But told that real men drink. "What exactly is tea? I hear it's a warm drink that the Brits drink every day and that's it." He was open to trying new things. That was life.

Shayla Fagan "old biddy's drink it warm, tea is meant to be an infusion of hot water and tea leaves. Tea leaves come in variant strengths and can often be combined with other herbs, spices and even fruit to effect a desired flavor. And the limey gits aren't the only ones most of the world drinks tea. This is a white tea, lavender and peach blend I mixed myself." she said with pride as she filled Brian's cup, "you can try it straight and if you don't like it I would suggest adding sugar or a little honey." She added as she pushed his cup closer and then set the honey by it. "And if your a Minotaur the stories I read as a girl must be exaggerated you are not raw muscle and you certainly do not strike fear into hearts by a mere sight." Shayla was trying to be friendl and lighten the mood, she knew brooding depression was catching and she was trying not to let her dark thoughts affect her gust.

Brian O'CallighanBrian chuckled. He tried to remain in good moods around people. "Well, thank you for that. " He took a sip of the tea. It was hot but sweet. "That's good for my first cup." He smiled. "I guess it's because I live in down there and the Minotaur lived in the maze."

Shayla Fagan "yes, I prefer lighter tea, the English like black pekoe but that tastes like some cleaning astringent." Shayla sat back in her seat and continued to feed herself by taking a second portion. "If you are one of O'Conner's gun boys I would think you would be living in one of the pent house sweets here and coming home with ladies on your arms." She said frankly as she sipped her own tea without breaking eye contact. "there seems to be big money in death from what I have seen of the men whose suits I alter."

Brian O'CallighanBrian looked down. "I don't get to make the guns. I can make them he just has me customize them." He thought of what he would do if he had the money. He thought he would do the same. Not live so large of a life. "I guess I would live a middle life style. A wife maybe. Possibly some kids." He smiled. "But I'm fine where I stand. Not the best place, but not the worse."
