Kiwi understood the direness of the situation. They were all wounded to some degree, and being wounded by a creature of Insanity made it all the more dangerous. Added to that, the priestess, Nergui, herself suffered from that very disease. The odds were certainly stacked against them.
But, he thought, so too had the heat and sandy winds of the Famine Isle been against the clansmen. His people however, were resourceful, and had quickly learned how to turn that weakness into a strength. Maybe, they could apply that thinking to their current situation?? ...
"Well, we're currently in a predicament," he mused aloud, crossing his arms and tilting his head slightly as he had a habit of when in deep thought. "The most sensible course of action would be to guard you, Nergui. The problem is, we don't know when and where our enemy will strike, or how many there actually are." He trailed off a moment in thought. " ... I think our best bet would be inside the Haunted House. If this place is surrounded in Insanity, it must be coming from there. We should proceed together, and defend the priestess first and foremost."

She was still staring stubbornly up at Soren as she got back to her feet and wiped her bloody palm on the bottom of her dress. It was a challenging sort of look, as if she were waiting for him to insist on her turning tail and running home. He could try to insist she leave, but unless he was willing to escort her personally back to safety, he couldn't make her do anything. Besides, even if he did take her back, unless he was willing to restrain her somehow he couldn't be sure she'd stay.
hell, at this point, even if she did want to stay behind, with the way the voices sung through her mind, there was no guaranteeing she'd stay put. That by itself was a frightening thought.
No, she was staying here, with him.
Mismatched eyes twitched to Tseng as he spoke for her, then to Kiwi, before going back up to meet the red of Soren's. "The safest place for me to be while all this is happening is with a Guardian." She waited a second, expecting a protest, then crossed her arms to turn towards Kiwi. "I agree. we'll be safer between walls, rather then out here in the open like this with zero visibility."
For the moment at least it seemed her irritation was enough to keep the murmur of voices at bay, but there was no telling how far pure indignation would take her.
"Enough"
The Priestess froze, eyes going wide as the word rang clear as a bell through her mind. "Medea.." Unlike the vast number of whispers, this was a familiar voice rising up from the void, and Nergui turned her head, chin tipping up as if that would help her hear. "She's calling us," she breathed, glancing towards each of her companions in turn, curious if they could hear it as well.
