Perhaps in another time, another place, she would have been discouraged by the creatures striking back at her; but here and now, all she could hear, all she could think, was the whispers of the fog and the absolute certainty that she must destroy the figures that she fought against.
She twisted sinuously among the group, here one moment, there the next. Perhaps she sought to unnerve them, but the snap of her teeth closed on empty air.

Really, Belladonna, really? Because it was so incredibly obvious that Alexander wasn't, you know, trying or anything. But he'd always been terrible in battle, or at least, he thought of himself as being terrible at it. Still, he'd won his fair share of spars in the gym, but he was convinced that it was because the other party continued to let him win...
...Okay that was all so irrelevant to the current situation he quickly detoured his thoughts back to the matter at hand, and that was the giant puppy dog snapping at the air just inches from his face.
"Bad dog." He half muttered, half growled as he balled his hand into a fist and attempted to give it sound thumping on the nose when it's face got to close to where he stood, then took a few hasty steps backwards in retreat.
Wait, was somebody seriously asking about whether or not there was a problem between him and Belladonna? In the middle of a life or real-death battle? He glanced over his shoulder towards the source of the chatter, only to see that it was a hunter.
"I don't see how that is any of your business, meat bag." Alexander growled, while continuing to back up, cutting off whatever response Belladonna might have given. Seriously, this was all kinds of jacked up. If it weren't for the giant insanipup attacking them all the zomboil would have likely turned around and thrown himself at the hunter instead in an attempt to tear out his throat.

Having wanted to reply to this very polite Hunter, despite her misgivings of exactly their motives, the witch was instead cut off by Alexander. With a huff she stamped a foot and glared at him, her cards swirling around her in a faster and more agitated manner. With a twirl she turned her back to him and instead faced the unnamed Hunter, that angry expression still smeared across her face. All remnants of battle were lost for whatever reason and she instead jammed both hands onto her hips, leaning forward a little in a somewhat taunting manner. "Not a problem to be had! Unless of course Alexander here has a bone to pick, then we're absolutely fine. Not that your insinuations are to go unnoticed, of course. I have a boilfriend who is not him--" She told the boy with a jerk of her thumb, "--But, I am glad you are feeling better." Normally a smile would have been given, but there was a battle going on, despite the witch's fanciful manner of chatting. The way the fog monster was snapping at her ankles, continually shifting its position around the group was vastly distracting and though the witch was a fan of gossip all her own, this simply wasn't the time for it. Belladonna heaved a heavy sigh as she whirled back to face where she'd last seen the creature and dropped both hands from her hips.
"Bad wolf, indeed!" She told it as she snatched a card from the floating circle. A wicked smile sprang forward as she cast a glance back at Alexander. "I do think you'll remember my friend!" The witch chirped to him as a form just a bit taller than herself, but far wider, materialized right behind her. It coalesced into the shape of a skeleton dressed in full black armor, a large lance clutched in its grip. Without a word she nodded at the form who only stepped forward, surveyed the fog that roiled at their feet and lunged forward to stab at the mist. It was an excellent hit, one that rewarded the FEAR-created Death Knight a curtsey from the witch before he dissolved back into a simple Tarot card, where it simply filed back into her circle. "And that is how it is done."

The Hunter watched and listened to the exchange between Alexander and Bella, slightly amused and more than grateful to have something else occupy his attention. Other than the voices and the Insanity-creature winding its way about them that is. He opened his mouth to say something when the witch suddenly used her FEAR attack.
Before visibly twitched at the sight of the scythe. No, he did not like that particular weapon and began to inch away from the friendly witch. "I'll give you two room then~" he stated in response. It looked like it was his turn to ward off the the Insanity-creature when it suddenly began winding this way and that all around them. Before probably should looked elsewhere because the circular and erratic movement, coupled with the still ever-changing, ever-shifting background that was their prison brought back another wave of nausea. @n@
"I'll just really be outta your way..." he croaked before clamping a hand over his mouth, his wheel positioned protectively in front of him.

The fog twined through them. He still didn't seem a target, but that was ok. The foggy-dog was annoying him anyways, twining about them all like that like some intimidation tactic. He frowned, and aimed another kick at the thing. He grunted at the feeling of hitting something solid again, but also at the needless tension the others were adding. He scrunched his nose up. That hunter was going to hurl again, and the smell from the first time was still about burning his nose a bit even though the fog eased it.
"Can you try not to puke again? It's really no helping things." he snapped unsympathetically. "Close your eyes and imagine yourself somewhere else, maybe the wolf will ignore you then." Or maybe it would take another swipe at the guy, which would distract him in another manner, or remove the annoyance. If the fog didn't have him feeling on edge he wouldn't have been this snappy, it really wasn't like him, but at the same time he didn't really care.

Clyde had been lucky, the creature had snapped its jaws only inches from his face. It was nerve wreaking and that was his only excuse for his horrible performance of a punch. He had missed his target, barely, but it was still a miss.
Dear Jack, he's useless right now...At least the others seem to be landing hits.
The foggy creature now looked a bit uncertain; seems that insanity affecting it randomized its moves, and the beast didn't have a full control of its own attacks. It was much, much slower than in the beginning; to be exact, the creature was moving in a strange, weird way, as if it was some sort of a marionette.
Eisheth could not sympathize with it, no matter how she looked at the situation. On the other hand, using the opponent's weakness is only natural: her next blow was successful, and the Hell Welder blade penetrated the mist that was shaping the body of their enemy leaving an a little hole. There was nothing inside: no blood, no liquids, the alchemist couldn't even sense the Fear that was forming the creature.
Just the emptiness.

She growled. It hurt; why did it hurt? No matter. She knew what she needed to do, and she would do it. This time, when she twined among them, the swift snapping of her teeth met vulnerable flesh.
The foggy beast shivered and rushed towards the group attacking them; Eisheth couldn't help admitting it was quite painful. On the other hand it was nothing like a battle with the real opponent, hunter or Halloween denized, not to mention horseman: it was like fighting with a giant, yet mindless scareling who could be dangerous just because it can't really understand what it's doing.
"I pity you pathetic existence, beast", the alchemist concluded arrogantly. "Go back to your home, where you belong".

Alexander just shook his head as he continued to watch the fog canine warily, lips pressed in a firm line and eyebrows drawn down in a glower. Why was Belladonna talking to a hunter, giving it advice, practically treating it like it was her friend? They were the enemy, they were the ones who had kidnapped those students and shoved trackers inside of them! It made a growl rumble deep in his chest, but he refused to talk with her about it anymore. If she wanted to be all buddy buddy with humans, fine. It just gave him more reason to be wary of her as well. Obviously she could not be trusted, and neither could anybody else in the room.
He only had himself now, himself and a calling for home that he was sorely tempted to give in to.
The insanity monster moved quickly, too quickly for the zomboil to follow. Before he even knew what was happening, sharp teeth were clamping down on his shoulder and the upper part of his arm, digging in painfully. Alexander gritted his teeth tight and let out a hiss, drawing his free arm back, clenching his hand into a fist.
But then she was gone, loping off just as quickly as she had struck. Alex's arm hang at his side, nearly useless as he attempted to open and close the fingers of that hand. He needed a needle and thread, stat.

Naturally, her excellent attack was rewarded with an equally fierce attack from the monster.Though she took hasty steps backwards, the witch still felt the mist harden into sharp teeth that sunk in her leg. It hurt enough that she let out a startled and rather loud scream of pain as she did her best to swat at the creature to get it away. So focused on getting away, she totally forgot to attack. "Alright, Shaggy and Unkept. You're starting to really tick me off!" Belladonna grumbled as she dodged behind Alexander, her breath starting to come more ragged. This was not going well, and if she wasn't careful she was going to be in real trouble soon... But it hadn't occurred to her yet to try a healing spell. Maybe she'd figure that out fairly soon, especially since the creature seemed so intent on destroying her...
He is still missing his target, who is bloody attacking everyone and being just a deadly force to wreak with...and Clyde's useless and missing his mark. Ugh.
"Why wouldn't you just go awayyyy." the varcolac sighed out of annoyance, self-annoyance, and irritation. This whole day just sucks. End of story.

Before would have stuck his tongue out at the demon-goat. But he didn't want to risk biting said tongue off in the off-chance the beast hit him at just the right moment. Instead, he stared pointedly at the goat, "Not that I don't appreciate the advice ewe gave me, but involuntary reactions are just that." A pun had to be snuck in somehow, Before hadn't made one in ages and it was really getting to him.
When the Insanity-dog began winding about and he heard snapping jaws come close, Vanna prompted him to shove forward. "Go play fetch somewhere else, Fifi!" The impact managed to ward away the attack but the others weren't so lucky. Such as that fashion-forward witch and that zombie DDDDD8!!!!
Okay, he actually gave no ******** about Alex, other than how Before was sorely tempted to ask about needing a Hand. But no, Before wasn't that stupid. He learned that lesson the hard and painful way. Plus, why give the Horseman any more reason to attack? He... she... they(?) were already eyeing him and Madison earlier on and nope, he didn't like that one bit.
"My wheel makes for a pretty sweet shield sometimes," Before stated to no one in particular. "I'm just saying~~

Madison did envy Before his heavier weapon - at least in form, if not function. Kouki hissed possessively in her mind, and she jumped aside as the beast lunged again, though not at her this time. "Why do they always attack?" she muttered, to no one in particular. Why did the Insanity-freaks always start it, going after their own kind as eagerly as after their enemies? Maddened, useless freaks, the lot of them.
But there was one thing she had on Before, and that was speed. She lunged at the maddened beast, bringing Kouki around in a double-bladed swipe that slashed across the creature's gray and wisping side. A double burst of fog sloughed away in the swords' wake.

Before had hunkered down behind Vanna again, finding that if he kept his center of gravity as low as he could, the house's inability to decide how the ******** it wanted to look wasn't as potent. But he did witness the impressive attack Madison made and he gave an appreciative whistle along with shooting an arm up to give her a thumb's up ^w^b!!!! Vanna, however, felt her spikes sharpen in annoyance.
"Poetry in motion. Totes," he beamed from behind the wheel. "Your attack with the scythe-dude was pretty badass too!" he called out encouragingly to Bella. When he turned to Alex, Before just shut his mouth to keep the words: I gotta hand it to you for trying. from tumbling out.
