[FIN] LESSON ONE!

Ohh this girl was cute, and not in the adorable way. in the cheeky way. Still, it drew a grin from Ray, as the women gestured "Alright then, if you think you understand this so well, lets just skip all the important details, and the other lessons. you've got the first part down, so please, young trainer. Show me your masterful skills." With a wide sweep, Ray gestured to the battle field, stepping backwards a few steps, and gesturing Double Stripe over to take the field ahead of her.
"I would make a suggestion as to who you might choose, but I think you've at least for that part down."

The girl opened her mouth and tried to object in several disjointed syllables that combined to form the beginnings of quite a few words, but resulted in nothing definite or intelligible. When Ray moved back, Sera gave up her half-formed argument with a huff and stormed over to the other side, then gestured impatiently at Isabella.

The Absol readily complied, and moved to stand across from Double Stripe.

Ray had stopped in front of Double Stripe on her way to her side of the field, speaking to the large pokemon in an undertone before nodding and patting him.

Ray stood, watching as Sera selected Isabella.
"Alright, You've got first go, lets see it."
Double Stripe flicked his tongue out, watching the Absol with narrowed eyes.

Sera didn't speak to Isabella beforehand like Ray did, which gave the girl a few misgivings, but she did her best to ignore it, and waved at the Absol again as she said, "Go on."

Isabella responded immediately as she launched herself towards the Serperior at a sprint, fangs bared.

Ray's voice barked a series of quick single words from her end of the field, her voice was made sure to carry loudly, and clearly to reach the pokemon partner on the field.
In an instant Double Stripe reacted to the words, as the snake slipped down low to the ground, as low as he could make himself and slithered with sharp rapid movement to meet the Absol head on, intending to catch the pokemon's legs and unbalance her.

Unlike Ray, Sera remained completely silent, though she looked more than a little uncertain. Doubts plagued her as to what she was doing versus what she was actually doing; should she give commands too? Should she have explained anything? Said anything? Even if she should, what the hell would that even be? The girl had almost no clue, and thus maintained her silence.

Isabella seemed to do just fine without commands. She had expected the snake to make some move - mostly a dodge - but this was a little unexpected. Still, she growled as she sank her teeth into the Serperior just as she accidentally tripped over him, and her surprised expression indicated she had not expected this either.

Ray spoke again, carrying an update of the situation to the Serperior who coiled back with a heavy Hiss when he was bit, his muscles tensing sharply at the pain.
He twisted though, his long body coiling and re-coiling, the long tail winging out from behind the Absol as if to strike her from behind.

Isabella had just gotten back to her feet when the tail whipped around and knocked into her side - coincidentally causing her to trip over the Serperior's long body again. She yelped as she fell over for the second time, but jumped back to her feet and retreated a few steps with her gold eyes narrowed. It was but a few seconds before she leapt forward again, this time with the intent to slash at the snake with the horn that curved above her head.

Double stripe was against the ground again, his sharp movements from left to right and easy move-ability with his center of balance still secured made.

Another call from Ray and Double Stripe's eyes widened, as he made every effort to avoid being hit by the Absol. suddenly shooting around to avoid being directly in front of the dark type trying to keep to her left and stay at her left no matter what direction she turned. effectively trying to keep just barely out of her line of sight.

It became quite clear quite quickly what, exactly, the Serperior was trying to do. No matter how fast she tried to spin in a circle, he was always just out of her line of sight, despite brief glances of him out of the corner of her eye, off to her left. She continued to spin in that circle until she suddenly turned sharply in the opposite direction, digging her long claws into the ground to make the turn much easier, and tried the attack once more, hoping to catch him by surprise.

As Ray watched the pokemon circle, she slowly narrowed her eyes, not taking them off of the Absol.
Before the pokemon even turned though, she picked up on subtle changes in the pokemon's intent, the weight shifting from one leg to the other, where her eyes were looking.
"RIGHT!" Ray called out.

The command from his partner reached the snake, and looking alarmed for a moment, was forewarned as to what the Absol was doing.
When Isabella turned, she would find that the snake had changed positions as well, still just out of sight.

"Whats your next move Sera? How are you going to handle this?" Ray called out to the other trainer. "What can you see?"

Isabella growled when her efforts proved fruitless, then loped out in a large semi-circle away from the snake so he couldn't hide out of her sight anymore. She stood there, watching the Serperior, trying to think of what to do next and also waiting to see if he'd make a move towards her this time.

The brunette was startled when she suddenly heard Ray addressing her, and she stared out across the field at the taller woman. What would she do? Watch the battle, obviously - she could see them battling, see them running around each other and see Isabella tripping.. But she wasn't yet sure what it was Ray wanted her to see, exactly.

Ray stepped forward, disregarding the battle and effectively putting an end to it as she made her way across over to Sera, folding her arms once she got there.
"You weren't saying anything to Isabella"

Isabella paused as Ray stepped out onto the field, kind of getting the hint that the battle had ended, so she trotted over to stand near Sera and Jacques again.

Meanwhile, Sera attempted to cover her uncertainty and ignorance with frustration and annoyance. "Well what the hell am I supposed to tell her?"

"Well, anything, for starters." Ray noted, "I did tell you that its the trainers job to pay attention to whats happening and direct the battle from there. Your pokemon can't win if she's doing all the work. It takes more then that to be able to accomplish the level of training that we're aiming for."
Ray signed. "I guess it doesn't matter as long as you don't know your own pokemon though. Thats the single most important thing after all."
