--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia watched him carefully for a moment, unsure of what to think. It hadn't occurred to her that he smoked, or did anything bad for that matter. Then again, why did she care? She spent too much time worrying about others... it's a free country after all. Her mind seemed closed for a moment, and she stood there in the awkward pause studying him curiously, his body language, the way his eyes looked green in the early morning sunlight. Snapping back to reality, she blinked a little and laughed. "It was just a hunch, I guess... Good thing, too. I, uh, kind of forgot where your motel room was." She said with a small laugh, running a hand through her hair. "I just wanted to get out of the dorm, to be honest. Get a bit of fresh air. What about you? Getting to know the town a bit more?"--- Kiyiya Sakura nu-uh, don't be ridiculous xp

"Good hunch." he looked back at the shop, then down at his phone. Thirty minutes till the opened. "Yeah, thats the plan. Get to know the city. Right now though, I'm waiting for this place to open." He nodded to the sandwich shop. "Applied here and I need to give them my new number." He rolled his neck, feeling the pops and smirking in satisfaction. He was always stiff after a night in a new place. He never slept well the first night. His hair was still slightly damp from the shower he had taken, but as it dried, it took on a shine that made his medium brown hair look a dark golden color, with a hint of deep red. His hair was thick, but right after a washing, was as soft as silk, and just as billowy. The slight breeze coming off of the ocean rustled it about his head. He ran his had through it annoyed. "I need a hair cut." He said as it got in his face.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia nodded. "That's cool. I was thinking of getting a job someplace too. It would be nice to have a bit of cash handy." She thought back to the cash that her mom had generously given her to start her off. It was enough for a good few weeks, more than enough to keep her on her feet for a while. But at some point, she would run out, and having a job would keep things steady, especially if she wanted to go out on the town once in a while. She paused to look around at the mildly busy morning street, and wondered what it would all look like at nighttime. When Delia turned back to look at him again, she couldn't help but to giggle a little bit at the hair that got in his face. "Or a hair tie," she joked. "Maybe there's a good barber somewhere in town. Of course, if you're desperate, I could always cut it for you. I cut my brother's hair for him when it gets to long." ---

Jacob "Jac" Fayden McClain
Jac was actually enjoying the company for once. He was a major loner, keeping very few friends. His best friend, the only one he could tolerate for long periods of time was Claudio. "Oh yeah?" he came back with a chuckle, "How much do you charge? Sure you won't rip me off?" he jived. So she had a sibling. He had a younger brother, a younger sister, and an older one. He had not spoken to them in a while, and he wondered briefly how they were. He knew Patricia was probably living her Hollywood dream. A while back, when she knew his mailing address, he received a playbook from a show she had preformed at the Pantageous Theater. That was two years ago or so.
As for Kayla, he felt guilty about her. He had left her all alone with a drunk, abusive father. She should be fourteen now, and he hoped she was alright.
The door of Philly's Best opened up and the manager looked over the two loiterers. "Well, if it isn't Jac?" the man said, remembering his visitor from yesterday. Jac turned to the man, looking at his phone. It was only eight forty. "Hey, good morning. I came to give you the updated phone number." he came forward with the paper. The man shook his head and waved them inside. "Just come in, and you can bring your girlfriend." The man slipped inside. "Uh what? But she's-" he stopped when the door closed. He looked back at Delia, his face slightly more pink than before, "Um, I guess come in?" He went to the door and entered, holding the door awkwardly.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia laughed and shook her head. "It's free. I mean, good grief, you let me borrow your shirt." Her smile was back, but it was warmer than usual. Usually her smile was forced, chipper, a bit too wide, like a mask she put on when planning to make friends. It was probably stupid of her, but it was just what she had become used to. It had been a while since she actually made a genuine friend. When the door of the shop opened, Delia continued to smile, this time her attention on the man. At his offer, Delia felt her face grow warm in surprise. Girlfriend? she thought, looking a bit flustered all of a sudden, fixing her hair and tugging at her dress. After a moment of hesitation, she giggled slightly and followed close behind Jac. ---

Jac followed Todd to a table in the back and sat when he was motioned to do so. Todd remained standing. On the table before Jac was a set of papers. "A W4? hired?! Really?" Jac looked up at the bear-like man. He nodded, "Fill it out, give it to me and come in tomorrow for training." he turned to set up for opening. The man paused and turned half way around again, "What size shirt you wear?" "Medium sir. Thank you!" Jac turned to the papers with a confident grin on his face. As bad as yesterday was, today was starting off completely opposite. He had a job! He did not care if it was minimum wage, it was a start. He could always get another one for the days he didn't work here. He quickly filled out the paper, not thinking about his company for the moment. When he finished, he stood and walked over to Todd, who had just flipped the sign from "closed" to "open". Jac handed the man the papers, "Here it is." "Alright, starting pay in Nine fifty, come in at ten A.M. tomorrow and I'll have your uniform." "I'll be here! Thank you again!" they shook hands and Jac looked over at Delia. "Well, that was lucky!" He said brightly.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia smiled as she watched the two discuss. The way Jac's face lit up left Delia feeling quite amused, and just as happy along with him. This was odd, of course, as she barely knew the guy, but seeing someone else so thrilled about something sent a similar feeling coursing throughout her. She couldn't help it. Sometimes her empathy with others was just uncontrollable. Her eyes flicked over at the sunlight that poured into the shop windows, casting an amber glow in the shop, lighting up every spec of dust floating in the air in the room. It was lovely seeing everything unfold in this way, even something as small as this. Delia turned back to Jac and smiled. "That's awesome!" she agreed, nodding happily. "Now you're somewhat settled in, right? I'll have to come here once in a while to see you." ---

Jac walked out of the store with one last wave to Todd, "Somewhat, yeah. I'll be more settled when I'm mot living in a motel room." He went to his bike. He had been rather pushy about her leaving the night before, and did not want to repeat that process now. She was not getting on his nerves at all, and he was in a good mood, "So we both need to get to know the city right? Are you afraid of motorcycles?" Then he remembered he did not have an extra helmet. "Hmm, no. wait..." He frowned. He did not need a ticket right after moving here and getting a job.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia nodded. If she didn't know any better, she would offer him a place to stay. Of course, that was absolutely impossible, for she didn't really have a place of her own herself. Her kindness was getting the better of her again, so for a moment she kept her mouth shut, afraid of saying something ridiculously stupid. At his offer, her smile returned and she laughed slightly. "There are many things I'm afraid of, but motorcycles isn't one of them." It was kind of a stupid thing to say, but it was the truth. She watched him ponder for a moment before suggesting, "Well, we could just walk?" She tilted her head to one side with a small shrug. ---

Jac thought about walking, then nodded. "Sure, I'll dive this back to the motel and meet you in front of the school." He straddled his bike, pulling his helmet over his head and turning the key. The bike started up with a rumbled and sat idle, Jac's hands on the handle bars. He sat there briefly, thinking about what he was doing. Should he really be hanging out with some college air head right now? He mentally shrugged and walked the bike back out of the parking spot and took off down the street.
Once parked in front of the stairs to his room, he did a check for his essentials and walked briskly back down to the school.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--"Okay," Delia replied with a smile. She was happy he actually wanted to spend some time with her, even if it was only to be nice. It had started feeling like there would be no hope to enjoy herself more than usual, and meet new people. This was another foolish thought, of course, because there were a lot of people in this town, and a lot of things to do. Delia mentally kicked herself as she walked back to the front of the school and sat on one of the benches. For a moment, Delia sat there in thought, before popping a stick of mint gum in her mouth to calm her pitiful nerves. A couple walked by, holding hands and chatting up a storm, their skin sunkissed with a summer glow. She sighed contently, resting her chin in her palms as she waited. ---

Jac arrived at the school and saw Delia waiting there. "Hey." He greeted, walking up to her. He had absolutely no idea where they were going, or what there was to check out, but seeing as he managed to check off getting a job so early in the day, wasting a little bit of time was acceptable. Besides, on the slim chance that Birch had eyes all the way out here, blending in with the locals seemed like a good idea. "So where too? Any ideas?"

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia stood up when he returned and smiled. "Hmm, oh! I was thinking we could check out the bakery. It smelled so lovely with all the goodies, probably fresh out of the oven. Local shops are always the best." She found herself a little too giddy, and tried to tone it down a bit as they began walking. "So, um, what brings you to this town anyway? Just looking for an escape?" She asked casually, completely unaware of his current situation. ---

Bakery? Jac did not expect that, but then again it fit with this girl's personality so far. He really hat no interest in checking out a bread house, but he did ask her for an opinion. "Sure. Sounds tasty." He said nonchalantly. She came off as such a giddy ditz. Was she really like this all the time or was it some sort of act to get a boyfriend? He had to wonder. It was a relief when she toned it down a bit. When she next spoke, it sent a spike of cold down his spine. SHe had no idea how spot on her phrasing was. "Yeah, something like that. Change of scenery, a fresh start sort of thing." Running for my life because a mean a** mob boss wants me dead. He thought, looking up to the sky. "You came here for schooling huh? What are you taking?" he tried his best to continue the conversation.

--Dℯℓiα S℘riηℊstℯℯη--Delia hooked her thumb on the strap of her purse and kept it there as they walked. She nodded, listening to him talk. It was nice being able to just walk through the town and have a chat, not worrying about anything, just talking. "Mhm. Lots and lots of science," she replied, thinking back to all the classes that were on her schedule and nodding slightly. "I'm a biology major, but to be honest, I kind of hope to add a lot more art classes to my time asap. I'd enjoy painting and sculpting a lot more than looking at diagrams of human bodies." She said with a short laugh, surprising herself at how honest she was all of a sudden. As much as she loved science and wanted to be a nurse some day, art really was the subject that tugged on her heartstrings. "What about you? Anything you enjoy doing in particular?"---
