Yipyipyipyip!
Fluffster had immediately bounded toward the little blue Eevee and seemed to be having a playful conversation without words; just yips.
The blue Eevee, in turn, wagged her tail and yipped back, and offered happy little growls.
They, at least, seemed to be getting along.

"Oh man! No name yet?! That's awesome cuz you totally get to choose a real good one! She's real cute! I bet Fluffster's tougher though!"

Henrietta was left beaming by the assessment of 'impressive' regarding her 'Snowlax'.
"He totally came to life from the snow! It was /awesome!/."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 27, 2014 7:11 am
"From the snow?" Dith echoed, intrigued by the description the young trainer gave; he had thought initially that she'd just misspoken with 'Snowlax'. "Sounds like getting him was an adventure! Heh, my most interesting one was Teazer," he indicated the Liepard, who looked up at him as she heard her name. "Yes," Dith grinned at her, "you stole my sandwich, didn't you? You beast."

Teazer sat down and washed her left forepaw delicately.

Viktor put in with a slight huff; he still hadn't managed to train the feline's criminal tendencies out of her.

Viktor sighed.

"Uh, anyway," Dith shrugged, wishing for about the millionth time that he understood his pokemon's speech. "Shall we get started then?" The Snorlax was his initial 'concern', it was a fair assumption that it would be one of the stronger ones just by dint of being what it was.

"Yeah! I was making a Snowlax with Jace and Yuri and we heard this big noise, so we went to find out what it was, but we didn't find anything really, and when we came back, my Snowlax had turned real! So I caught him and his name is Bub!" Henrietta explained, as though such an explanation was all perfectly normal.

"Teazer's an awesome name! I saw a play with a character called that name! The long version! I kept being told to sit still but it was a really exciting play! Oh, man, it sounds like she was hungry? I bet she's totally pleased that she's with you now! Doesn't have to steal sandwiches anymore!"

Horizon tilted her head. Whatever the Eevee's were communicating to eachother seemed to be more body language and noise than 'words' still. Perhaps it was just a game.
They separated when Dith spoke, though, Fluffster wagging and running back to Henrietta's side of the training space, and Horizon running to circle behind Dith and then come and stand ready, in front of him.

"Yeah! Let's! We're totally ready!"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 28, 2014 12:12 pm
"Alright!" Dith grinned and whistled sharply to his team; if Hen said she was ready, he took her at her word! "Поехали! Luna, отражать; Dolly, Солнечный день; Zla, яд Snorlax; горизонт, Атака Песок Snorlax; Teazer, Поддельные из Snorlax!"

The main core of the well trained team acted swiftly: Teazer shot forward first to strike out at Bub with a disorienting Fake Out; Luna threw up a defensive Reflect over herself and her allies; Dolly snorted, reared, and bathed the battleground in a blazing Sunny Day; and Zla cackled, spitting Toxic at Bub.

Viktor meanwhile sat quietly beside his trainer with his tail curled around his feet, watching the start of the battle with a discerning eye. It would be good to see how far his new friends - relatively new - and Zla had come from when they started; usually engaged in battle himself he didn't get a chance to pay attention to how they did.

[Horizon was asked to use Sand Attack on Bub! She will have been taught to understand commands in Russian and in English! =D]

"Bub use, uh, Yawn!" Henrietta instructed, though found the attack was rather... cut off by Fake Out, causing the big Snorlax to flinch. Then being doused in some awful toxic stuff... that couldn't be fun for him. She winced a little as Bub started to look a little bit... unwell.

Horizon danced on all four limbs, eager to carry out her command; she darted forward and added to Bub's troubles, spraying sand up toward his face.

"Gummy! Water Gun that Rapidash! Winglet, Supersonic on the Liepard!" Henrietta called, trying to remember how she'd lost past battles against similar types and trying, at least, not to make exactly the same mistakes.
"Fluffster! Eevee-on-Eevee, Sand Attack! Bistra, try a Feather Dance on the Haunter! Hang in there, Bub!"

Horizon found herself getting a taste of her own medicine immediately after using the move herself.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2014 12:06 pm
Okay she had some strategy, that was good! First damage the enemy status, just as he had been doing. The confusion was probably he worst of it; he wasn't planning to use his eevee to attack so her accuracy didn't matter, and Zla had no physical attacks to be weakened by the puffy fluffy feathers cloying his claws. The watergun wasn't great either, Dith winced slightly as Dolly gave a squeak of protest at be doused, but dealing with the type advantage wasn't actually his first priority. First things first try to take out the Snorlax before it could use Yawn.

"Luna, Teazer, Dolly, Zla; Snorlax, Возьмите его!" That command told the team to use their own initiative (it would be interesting to see if they knew what do do without Viktor amongst them), but Horizon didn't know to do that yet - she'd only been in a handful of battles versus other members of his team, and only really in play - so she would get something solid. "горизонт, помогать руки Zla!"

Zla, though annoyed by sticking fluff, was actually quite pleased by given free reign; without Viktor it was his time to shine!

Teazer, disoriented, ran smack into one of the training room walls.

The rest of the team however took Zla's strategy and ran with it; Luna used Helping Hand to give the Rapidash a boost and Dolly in turn blasted Bub with an enhanced Solarbeam without the need to charge it thanks to her previous Sunny Day. Zla, trusting that Horizon would follow her order, rushed towards the unfortunate Snorlax and straight through him with a Venoshock, the already decent move's power doubled to reach blistering levels by the presence of poison in Bub's system and - hopefully - a helping hand from Horizon.

Teazer staggered around and hissed at the wall, all her fur standing up on end. Your mum's butt! Come at me!>

[Horizon was asked to use Helping Hand on Zla!]

Horizon didn't like getting sand in her eyes at all, and whined about it until she heard the new order. Ooh! This, this she could do! The Eevee bounded after Zla, focusing her efforts on aiding him with Helping Hand.

Bub toppled, at first, hit by Solar Beam and then Venoshock, and not looking well at all. He really felt like taking a long nap even before this but now he just didn't have the strength to remain concious.
Hen' had been hoping to get him to use Yawn, but she could see, despite her enthusiasm, that he was going down, right before he did.
The Snorlax vanished in red light as he fainted.

Henrietta's eyes raced from team member to team member, /trying/ to come up with a strategy as she battled, though it wasn't her strongest skill at all.
"Um... Fluffster! Use Tail Whip on the Rapidash now! Bistra, use Feather Dance again, on the Rapidash too! Gummy, another Water Gun, same target! Winglet, use Bite on that Espeon!" That... was probably better, maybe. No, of course it was, Henrietta nodded a little to herself; refusing to lose confidence.

Ahahaha, got it!...

Uh...

Oh.

Was he actually getting excited about doing well in a battle against a teenager who'd been training for such a short period of time? d**k move Dith, d**k move. "Tail Whip is good!" Dith called across the battlefield, resolving to try to be helpful rather than just to win. "But that lowers her physical defence and watergun is a special type move so it won't cause her any more damage for that! It's usually good to try to have a mix of special and physical moves in your pokemon unless their attack and special attack are really different. That way you can adapt to a high defence pokemon for example by going with special, or take advantage of cutting their defence by using attack."

As Dith spoke Luna unleashed Flash, aiming at Winglet and whoever was next to the Zubat before the blue bat's fangs sank into her shoulder, causing her to hiss in pain and try to shake it off.

Teazer meanwhile blinked at the wall that had so offended her a moment ago and turned around, still shaking her head dazedly. That weird little water type was going for Dolly. Drawing strange thieving powers from somewhere in the universe the dark type launched Pay Day at Gummy.

Dith nodded, all that seemed to be going well enough! "Okay, Hen? Now look at Dolly again," he nodded at the snorting Rapidash. "When a pokemon has moves like Sunny Day you need to think about other moves they can enhance. Solarbeam is one of them in this case, allowing you to use it without having to charge power, and Morning Sun is another!"

Dolly had already been in the process of using it but as warm light flashed along her form; in the wake of the Morning Sun her flames - which had been dimmed by the Water Gun - blazed as brightly as ever.

"Under sunny conditions, Morning Sun is much more effective than normal conditions," Dith said with a nod, "any other weather conditions make it much less effective so if you can cancel out somebody's weather condition with one of your own - unless it benefits you - it's always worth doing! Another thing Sunny Day does is to cut the power of water type moves in half, so that will not be helping Gummy!... Oh! Yes!" Dith shook himself, remembering that he still needed to give some instructions to his eevee. "горизонт, another Helping Hand for Zla!"

Once powered up Zla gathered together a Shadow Ball and launched it at Gummy.

What? Who? Special what?
"I don't really know what most of that means but okay!" Henrietta put her thumb up to show, at least, she was listening, even if she didn't totally understand it.
She would have to ask afterward about it all...

So... Fire was strong right now, and water was weakened... That was the gist of some of that, she thought...
"Gummy! Scratch on the Rapidash!" Maybe that would be better? Henrietta found herself shielding her own eyes as there was a Flash... She'd have to ask someone how that worked on Zubats one day; she'd never seen Winglet's eyes, and yet, clearly, there was some effect there, as Winglet reacted to the bright light, as it took her accuracy down.
"Same target Winglet, but try an Astonish!"

Bistra also seemed to have been caught in the Flash.
"Bistra use, uh, Peck on that Rapidash!" The fiery horse did seem to be the biggest threat? Maybe. But then, Zla was pretty awesome too...

Payday hit Gummy with a jingling of coins... and Henrietta, for just a moment, was a little perplexed. She'd forgotten that attack even existed. She recovered quickly and even gritted her teeth a little as she saw, then, that a Shadowball was to finish Gummy's battle, and Horizon aided Zla, once more.

"Man, you're good at this! We're not out yet though!" Hen' called to Dith, rather impressed.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2014 1:25 pm
Dith beamed at the praise even though he didn't feel it fully deserved; "Thank you! Uh, okay! You have your dex to hand? If you do grab it out and scan, uh, Winglet for say? Depending on your setting you'll have her stats on one part of the screen and her attacks on the other. If you press on Astonish it should pull up more details about the move for you; it will tell you how powerful it is, what stat is is based on, and any other effects it can have." They could go into more detail later if needed.

Given Winglet was hopefully going to be scanned soon Dith figured that attacking her wouldn't be sporting, it might throw Hen's attempt off, and with that in mind maybe it was best to take direct control again. "Dolly, let's have another Morning Sun!" The Sunny Day would wear off soon, as would Luna's reflect. "Luna, Light Screen! Zla, use Toxic on Swablu and Teazer use Faint Attack on Swablu. горизонт, Sand Attack on Eevee!"

Unfortunately Teazer's attempt at Faint Attack saw her smacking into the wall again and the scrabbling at it with her claws but the rest of the core of the team got on with things.

"Okay!" Henrietta fiddled with the 'dex and, carefully, navigated her way to the scanning option. /This/ function she could actually use without too much trouble, even if she hadn't /really/ used it to properly look at the information before; when she didn't know the name of a pokemon, the hand device said the name, and that had been enough for her until now.
"It says it's a "physical", ghost type, move!" She looked up, remembering she was still in a battle. "Winglet, Supersonic on the Haunter! Bistra, hold on in there and use," Wait. Astonish was a 'ghost' type move and /Bistra/ had that move too! "Use Astonish! On the Espeon!" She winced when the Toxic poisoned the fluffy bird, but was relieved when Teazer attacked the wall instead.
"Fluffster, Tackle the Eevee!" Hen' called, even as Fluffster now got a face full of sand... Ick.

The little blue Eevee really knew how to use this attack! Though she didn't like being on the receiving end... Well, then this was sort of revenge... Yes, that was a good way to think of it.

Hen' listened and tilted her head. "Hey, did you name her? or was that a command cuz that sounded cool!"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2014 2:22 pm
Luna flinched as the painful, startling ghost type attack struck her.

"Good!" Dith called.

Luna gave him a disgusted look.

"Sorry Luna. Ah, it... well I'm trying it out for a name and she seems to respond well to it," he nodded, "it translates to horizon, but it also means a body of underground water. Suits her colour and markings! I haven't registered it to her though."

Shaking herself out of confusion Teazer huffed and launched a belated Faint Attack at Bistra. Dolly meanwhile, sensing the end of her power up, aimed a Solarbeam at Fluffster.

Ah, well, he might have got the eevee to power her up but now that she had already acted; "горизонт! Helping Hand for Zla!" It looked like the supersonic had hit home but hopefully the ghost could deal with it and still make use of the power up. "Zla, use Venoshock on Swablu! Now, because Bistra is already poisoned the power of that move doubles! Zla also has Hex, and that doubles in power when the opposing pokemon has any status condition at all."

Feeling very woozy Zla turned towards the puffy flying type and zoomed forward, though the aim of his Venoshock attempt was a bit questionable.

Henrietta took note; she probably wasn't taking it all in perfectly, but she -was- learning at least and could be refreshed in the new knowledge easily enough.

"Winglet, Bistra; Astonish on the Espeon!" The girl asked for another 'Astonish' on Luna, from both her bird and her bat, this time, while nodding along to what Dith said.
"Horizon's a cool name! It'd really suit her cuz she kinda looks like the sky -and- the water!"

Solar Beam actually made short work of Fluffster. The pup wasn't expecting it, nor was she very strong at all yet, and the powerful attack knocked her off her feet, rendering her unable to battle before she was even fully on the ground again. Venoshock /might/ have missed, except that actually, it wouldn't have mattered even if it had; Bistra was hurt from poison, and then a faint attack; she didn't last long enough to be taken out by Venoshock.

That left Winglet.
"Hang in there Winglet!"

Horizon used Helping Hand anyway.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2014 2:58 pm
Reflect and Sunny Day faded and as both super effective attacks struck, one of them with a critical hit, Luna fainted.

"Good job!" Dith grinned to Hen, recalling Luna and clipping her pokeball back to his belt before giving a little clap. That left just Winglet to deal with now, but with Zla confused he wasn't going to count too much on him. "I think I like it too," he agreed with a nod; "Alright горизонт, Horizon! Use Helping Hand on Dolly. Dolly, Flame Wheel! Teazer, give it a Faint Attack! Zla, Shadow Ball!"

While most of the other carried out their commands neatly Zla tried to summon a Shadow Ball but it ended up backfiring half formed and hitting him in the face. "Haaaaaunt!" What he actually said probably should not be translated.

"Awesome!" She'd... taken out one. But still! She -had- taken out one! Or rather, her team had, with her help! Henrietta was rather proud of herself, and her team, even if the last few attacks sealed the loss before Winglet could offer up the Astonish that Henrietta planned to use again, even as Zla hit himself.. in the face.

"Oh man! I gotta get them healed... That was /awesome/ though! Can we totally do that again? And I -really- wanna learn more about the special physical attacks and things! They sound useful!"
