A few days ago in the Terumi household I
That night had been surreal. Her mother had shown her to her old room, which was eerily similar to how she left it, and basically tucked her into bed, which made everything super, uncomfortably, weird. The entire family, even her cousins that never even had to act like they enjoyed her presence, radiated an aura of sickly sweet love. It was uncharacteristic. It was unfamiliar. After she got over the initial shock, however, the last thing Kukishi planned on doing was staying in bed. She hopped up, Kokuo egging her on, and went slinking around the Terumi Household.
The house was probably six stories. There were so many doors and hallways that even fifteen years of living in it couldn’t actually tell Kukishi where this ocarina was. They honestly were rooms in the house she’d never been in. That was partly because different branches of the family liked to keep to themselves, which meant not going into other peoples’ rooms. Of course, that privilege was voided by her mom’s status as the head of the family. As a kid, she went spying around all the time. There were no lights in the house, and when she was little, she would do exactly as she was about to now; she would make her own light. A sphere of shining chakra floated above Kukishi’s palm, her other hand contorted into a handsign. It was bright enough that it lit up the entire hallway and more. Kukishi looked over the balustrade of the stairs she was next to and saw no light downstairs; good, everyone was definitely asleep.
Eventually, she dimmed the light so that it wouldn’t alert others to her stealth and placed it above her head. It floated there, a guardian, as she explored the hell she grew up in and said hello to the flames that were her childhood inferno. When she lived there, her parents had been cold and indifferent. They only cared about her when a toe of hers stepped out of line. They were deeply involved in politics and the military, and were much too ‘busy’ to be bothered. Never once had they told her they loved her until that night. Her instructor was the one that truly raised her. He was a second cousin, or something like that, and had the same Kekkei Genkai as her. Therefore, he lived in the house too, but in the basement. His mother was banished from the family for having him at such a young age, and his father was nowhere to be found. But they let him live with them.
Speaking of, Kukishi hadn’t seen him since she got back ‘home’. Weird. She’d see him the next day, surely, but it still made her wonder. And just then, she rounded a corridor and saw a light seeping out from the crack of a door. She hurriedly deactivated her jutsu and approached the door, putting her ear to it to listen. She could hear a deep male’s first, undoubtedly her father, and a lighter, more jocose male’s voice. Her instructor! They were talking about her.
“She’s clearly unstable and she clearly has no intention to stay home. She still wears her Kusagakure headband. It’s disgusting.” Her father spat the word Kusagakure like it was dirt in his mouth. She winced, knowing that relations between the two villages were currently… strained. Her instructor spoke up, “I think you should have a little more faith in Kukishi. She’s not the type of girl to deceive. I think she’s home for good.” Another wince. Yes, she was the type of girl to deceive, clearly, and her father was on to that. “Well,” he began gruffly, “if she abandons us again - and she will - then…” Kukishi wouldn’t listen to anymore. She moved on, passing the corridor to keep looking for the ocarina. ”And so the plot thickens…” Kokuo chuckled to himself.

Mist, like a protective and thick veil that never let go, clung to everything down the mountain path to the docks of the Water Country. If Kukishi had not been raised in Kirigakure, she would have trouble seeing right now. But she had, and she wasn't. She could see very well, and because Kirinin were so sloppy at concealing themselves due to their false security of the Mist, she could see all of those Chuunin and Jonin eyeing her here and there. Stowing away on a ship would be hard, but that's why she was going to be taken on the ship without having to sneak on and nobody would be able to stop her. Sailors were sleazy and she was going to take advantage of that. "You delightful little slut" The horse just cackled, amused with himself, but said no more. Kukishi had already found a docking schedule nearby and knew which ship she was going to get on. It was just a matter of technique and... execution.
Her target ship was already docked, a long metal cargo ship that carted munitions. Kunai knives, swords, shurinken, the likes. Her secondary target just walked by her. A burly man in sailor attire headed for the ship. She quickly descended upon him, going in for the kill. And by that I mean she turned to face him, leaned up on her tiptoes, and kissed his cheek. Inside her head, she hated herself for that action but, whatever, she'd had to do that before. Never anything past that, though. She'd never degrade herself that much. The man recoiled, looking shocked and confused, and then smiled at the young thing before him. "Well hell-o there, sugahtits. What ya lookin' fer?" Kukishi sweetly smiled at him, nervously playing with her fingers. "Well... I really need to go to the Fire Country, where your ship's goin'.... but I don't have any money to get on a ferry. Do you think you can take me with you? Pretty please?" The man smiled wide, and Kukishi received her answer. But still he had to act reluctant...
“Look, little girl. I can’t just sneak you onto a ship, it’s unethical. It won’t happen.” And he walked past her. That was that, no ifs ands or buts. No, no, no. He would not be swayed. Nothing could waiver his determination in this moment. ”Won’t you need a little… company? Two days is long and lonely on the water.” His knees buckled and his determination waivered. He nodded. “Alright, sugartits, come on then.” Kukishi smirked and Kokuo cackled (the usual, then.) Of course she didn’t look too threatening with just a backpack and a single holster for equipment. The man probably had no idea she was a ninja. This would just make things easier once she got on the ship.
Mud weights. It would drag him down the water once she easily caught him off guard one night and pushed him in. Of course, she’d release the jutsu so he wouldn’t drown, she wasn’t that cruel. But it would keep him from resurfacing immediately and grabbing onto the ship or screaming for help. The poor man thought he’d be sleeping with her tonight. Too bad he’d be sleeping with the fishes. ”That pun was ******** terrible.” ”Get the ******** out of my inner dialogue, Kokuo.”
