Maku walked down the street carrying a few scrolls. They were all blank since she had just bought them. With the amount of work it took to test prototype puppet parts she had to make a lot of notes. As she made her way back to her apartment Maku wondered about when she would be assigned to a squad. Her instructor at the academy had told everyone to wait until further notice. So she had decided to consider this to be time off.
A young boy walks through the town quickly in an upbeat mood as he adjusts the new headband on his forehead periodically trying to find a position that's perfectly comfortable. He is so distracted by the excitement of the shinobi life that this headband represents and will lead to. he continued to walk around near the gates until he stopped in his tracks, hearing a loud sound from outside the gates of the village. he looked up and several shinobi on the gate jumped down outside of the borders to defend against the threat while others rushed towards the gates. As citizens evacuated the areas around the gates and he was the only on in sight that was completely still. As he observed he even saw no shinobi helping citizens find refuge because they were all focused outside the walls. 'Really? I wanted a mission, but I didnt expect to have to go save lives already' he thought to himself as he couldn't believe that the village was being attacked so quickly into his career. if this was an indication of the career that he would have, it would be busy beyond belief. If any organization were to come it had to be soon, so Arashi sprung into action without much more thought, sprinting with great speed to the nearest intersection and running up a tall building, scaling it quickly so that he could sit atop it and get a good view of the local area to formulate some type of plan for organization. "Are there any shinobi in the area!?" he announced as he scoped the crowds looking for other more experienced ninja to help in this hard task.

Arashi continued to scan the crowd and He realized that as excited as he was for his chance he had to calm the citizens down. "Everyone calm down and maintain order, whatever is going on will be dealt with quickly by our shinobi, we are here to protect and guide you!" some people heard his message and stop being a frantic, but few others were simply uncontrollable. as the crowd began to quiet down, it became easier to notice the individual disturbances. that's when he saw it, the first crime he had witnessed in Konoha, at least as a shinobi. A man was running away from a shop as the owner stood outside yelling for someone to stop him. Arashi's heart started racing due to excitement, he knew he had to put an end to it or others may follow suit in the chaos. Although he had made an announcement for help, this was really his chance to shine and he couldn't resist, he sprinted as fast as he could across the rooftop and leaped over the intersection and landed on a rooftop across the street, within seconds he caught up to the theif and pulled out a shuriken, preparing to throw it at the man. Arashi realized at the last second that this move was unnecessary and dangerous considering the man was in the street around other people. he put the shuriken back in his pouch and pulled out a yo-yo simultaneously, he threw the yo-yo from the rooftop and timed it well enough to wrap around the man's right leg a few times and then he yanked on it, pulling the thief's legs from underneath him, causing him to fall face first. Arashi jumped from the rooftop and landed on both feet, standing above the thief and turned him over as he was in a daze. the man gasped in fear and grabbed for something in his jacket and Arashi pulled his fist back reflexively, ready to punch him in the face if he pulled a weapon, but the man pulled out a leather sack with his left hand and handed it to Arashi, trembling. "Here take it back, it's just a few thousand ryo! im sorry!" Arashi calmed down and took the money as he backed up. Arashi was glad he did not throw the shuriken or punch the man as his initial instinct was to do as that would have been excessive and possibly deadly. "you shouldn't be exploiting the villages troubles man thats pretty damn messed up! you're lucky we all have bigger problems than you today. Get home and get safe!" The man continued to apologize and he scrambled away, struggling to get the yo-yo off of his ankle until Arashi pulled it off and retracted it, securing it in his pouch without looking at it, his eyes remained on the small sack of money he held in his left hand. It would have been easy to sprint away with his superior speed and keep the money just as that man intended to but of course, he brushed that thought aside and turned back to the store and ran back to the owner who sat there in a heap, devastated over the loss. when he saw Arashi come to a halt, sliding his feet on the ground, leaving a dirt trail of dust in the air behind him, his face lit up. Arashi returned the bag without even counting to see how much was in there and received thanks from the store owner. this was the first time he had ever helped a citizen and it felt great, he was on top of the world right now and there was so much more to do. Now that he had completed this alone he felt like he had the confidence to lead people calmly through this even without help, even though he probably couldn't prove it. (651 wordsx50=32000 ryo)

((awesome, I'm gonna go enjoy it! and good luck gettin out of jail)) Arashi looked at the man and smiled "If you need help getting to your home for safety, i can-" Then he saw giant flames tat rose above the village gates, his jaw dropped knowing this could be an attack to wipe out the village, he stood there in awe until suddenly the flames were blocked before they could reach the village. "Just go inside and lock the door, it's not safe enough to leave!" he was relieved that the attack was thwarted but could not tell if here was still a threat to come, and how big it was, but he knew that there was noting he could do to defend against that attack. He knew from his studies that no one besides an S-ranked shinobi could produce or block attacks like that, so he assumed it must have been the Hokage that blocked an attack from a rogue shinobi. the streets were relatively clear due to everyone seeing the flames and running away, he knew that all he could do now was get himself to a safer place so he sprinted away from the gates as fast as he could and wondered where to go until he saw the training grounds and decided that might be a good secluded place to wait this out. They seemed much less inviting than before, with boards covering many of the storefronts. In other places, people would give blank stares, and act like you almost didn't exist. Gone was the festive street the he knew growing up, replaced by one of quiet sadness and fear. Ever since that battle at the gates, everyone was on edge, wondering where the next attack would come from. Would it be from within the village? Would one of the shinobi go mad and wreck half the village before the few ninja that remained could stop him? These were the thoughts on everyone's mind, and it was something that was a problem. It was causing an ever widening schism between the Shinobi and the Citizens. At any moment, one group could turn on the other with little to no warning over the smallest issue. The village was just one big powder keg waiting to blow underneath all of them. It was dangerous now even for a ninja to walk down the main street of Konoha. He had to keep his eyes open, constantly scanning every corner of the road, left to right, and top to bottom. It was sad that even now a days, he couldn't walk down a street without fearing for his life. The very thought made him sick."How did it come to this?"
XXXXXIt was fast, very fast. He had barely seen it out of the corner of his eye before it flew past his nose, impacting in the wood on the other side of the street. A meat cleaver. A crude weapon, but sharp, and in the right hands it would be thrown with deadly skill. He turned his head quickly in the direction it was thrown to see a man sprinting down a side alley, obviously aware his sneak attack had failed. Masami pulled the cleaver from the wall and charged after him as fast as his legs could carry him. His target was fast, almost too fast to keep up. To make things worse, he seemed to know the back streets of Konoha just as well as Masami, ducking in and out of different alleys, across streets, and through back lots. At this rate, Masami knew he was going to lose his target if he didn't think of something fast. He held up his hand, as it quickly transformed into what seemed like two paper butterflies that charged after the target, turning into razor sharp paper shuriken as they got closer, each one clipping one of his legs. The man tumbled to the ground, but not before spinning, throwing another cleaver. That was when something odd happened. It was almost as if the weapon was moving in slow motion. He could see the path it was going to take, and batted it to the side with ease. He blew forward, slamming the cleaver into the man's skull as he reached for another knife. The cleaver sunk deep, slicing his head almost in half before finally getting lodged in bone and tissue. It would seem like he wouldn't get to figure out why man wanted him dead, but he had discovered something else. He walked to a puddle near the man, staring into it, catching a color red in his eye, with a splash of black. Without stopping, he sprinted home.

β«............Hiruma arrived at the crime scene that he had heard about from whispers among the village folk and he looked where the body of the store owner lay which from just at first glance, you could obviously tell they were stabbed multiple times. He spoke to the person who had discovered the crime scene first and they went on describing that the store owner had some skin under his fingernails, probably from scratching the assailant in a physical altercation. The villager then went on to describe that the victim had a single button maybe ripped off the attacker clutched in the closed fist of his hand, but he wasnβt too sure because he didnβt want to disturb the crime scene any more than he may potentially have.. Hiruma asked if there were any witnesses and if they would be able to come forth and provide an additional statement to help the process of finding the culprit but the villager replied with a saddened no. The store was about to close and everyone had left except those two and one is dead so he couldn't tell them anything regarding what may or may not of happened because he was in the back of his shop cleaning up at the time. They did inform him however that a lot of money had been taken from the register and vault. With a deep sigh of contemplation, Hiruma expressed his concern to the person that if he for any reason should come across another crime scene, that he should avoid looking around to much because he could destroy so much evidence by doing so. After his little rant, he dismissed the shop owner but made a mental note that he could still be a suspect and then he began to make some rounds around town in search of clues or anything that may support him in the case. If the assailant killed the store owner for money, he was desperate, and him being desperate likely meant he had some kind of addiction or an overwhelming need to obtain something, or even pay something off before he lost it. On the note of addiction however, the most common addiction was to alcohol. Keeping that thought fresh in his mind, the young Kaguya went around to the bars asking if anyone lately had come in buy a lot of drinks or often drank obscenely large quantities. One individual did so happen to come by a certain bar every day after the murder, ordering massive amounts of liquor and always paying in cash. Wanting to bring this guy in for questioning, Hiruma waited until the suspect came in that night. In perfect harmony with what the barkeep had told him, in a few hours that man came into the establishment and sat down next to the young Kaguya. He looked at the mans hand and quickly observed that there were 3 scratch marks lining the manβs upper hand which could have easily been from the store ownerβs nails. Upon further observation, Mr. self appointed detective noticed that a button was missing off this manβs cuffs. A wide grin would spread upon his lips as he knew that was all he needed to make the decision and he arrested the man on scene and called for higher ups to come and take him into custody and send him to Mr. Popo for interrogation. For his amazing detective work, the senior shinobi paid Hiruma for his work in the case and then began their way to the prison. On his way to another crime scene while hoping to find out more on the supposed possessed villagers, Hiruma stopped by the house of the one shopkeep and thanked him for his help and informed him that he had caught the culprit and that he was being detained.
After becoming properly informed of a crime that had just been committed, Hiruma headed to the crime scene and inspected the small, burned down dango shop. At first, he wasnβt all that concerned with this case because it was highly probable that either the owner accidently caused the fire, or it could have happened from the the attack on the village just hours ago from that insanely powerful Katon user. While inspecting what little charred remains of the building were left he had discovered that there had been some planks that had been covered in graffiti and obscene messages and threats. After doing his search of the premises, Hiruma spoke to the shop owner about his discoveries and was able to extract from the woman that there was a rather long list of several possible suspects, some of which had bothered her for quite some time now. To him, they just seemed like hooligans that needed to be taken care of. With a frown, Hiruma let out a long sigh and gathered some more intel from the woman before leaving the scene and going hunting for punks. It wasnβt long before the young man came across a small group of hooded teenagers hanging out by the construction zone in the village and with an air of caution, he approached them. At first they tried to ignore him in hopes he would just give up and leave, but as they found out he had no plans on leaving them alone the group of teenagers reluctantly turned to acknowledge him before spitting out some insults and telling him to leave. Again, as they realized he was not going to leave them alone they stood up from their positions and walked over to him and started to bow up at him as if trying to intimidate him. With a displeased sigh Hiruma shook his head and flashed his headband to show he wasnβt just some average man and that if he wanted to, he could easily play their own game and beat them up, or send them to jail in not quite possibly both. At the flash of his identification they had a sudden change among themselves and started to become a bit more helpful. Now that they were willing to be cooperative, Hiruma began to ask them the basic questions of where were they at insert time frame here, do they have anyone who can prove they were where they claimed to be, what was their relations with the shop owner, and the most blatant obvious, their names. Of course they could lie, but from the looks in their eyes, they were more frightened than just trying to shove him off, so he could assume that they were telling the truth. As they told him their story he checked it with previous reports from the other shop owners and it seems they were legit, only one of their names were on the list that Hiruma acquired earlier of potential suspects, but he had an alibi. Thanking them for their time, Hiruma went on in search of other troubled teenagers in groups. It wasnβt long until he arrived at the abandoned district of Konoha that contained warehouses and supposed haunted houses that no-one dared to buy or live in, not even the homeless. Continuing his way through the area, he couldnβt help but taste several people in the air around him as his tongue slithered out of his mouth and wiggled in the air for a brief moment before returning to itβs rightful place in his mouth. Were they just watching him, or was their intentions to jump him since he was alone? Either way, he didnβt plan to let them get away with it for much longer as he stopped and called out for them to come out and stop playing games. About that time, several hooded figures with weapons stepped out from the shadows and tried to get a surround on him, but once one of them spotted his headband, just like before, they all stopped their foolish little attempt and tried to run. However, before they could do so he cast a jutsu upon the area and it became severely heavy for those around him, so much so that it stopped them in their tracks and made them fall to their knees as they panted for air. Now that they were subdued, Hiruma went around and began to ask them individually the same questions he asked the group from before, and this time, he got a presumable tip that a certain group did it. Having no reason to suspect that they were lying, he released the jutsu and let them go, giving them a warning that if caught again, he would send them to jail. With this newly acquired intel, the young Kaguya made his way back towards the shopping district in search of the culprits. Upon arriving it didnβt take long at all to spot the group of boys hanging out by a BBQ stand, obviously hassling the owner. With his eyes narrowing, Hiruma strode forth and placed them into custody before they could escape. Not wanting to let them off easy this time, he called for some senior shinobi and they came and took the boys into interrogation.
Sadly, it seemed like a group of misfits had struck again, this time trying to assault a woman and take her belongings. Dropping his chopsticks down into his bowl of ramen, Hiruma stood up from his midday snack and rushed over to the woman. Calming himself down, Hiruma listened closely to the woman's description of what the men looked like before heading out to yet another patrol. What was with people today? Just because the village was on high alert from being attacked twice doesnβt mean they should go crazy because there would be less shinobi patrolling the village. With much distaste for his thoughts on the current situation of the public, Hiruma roamed the streets before arriving at the front of a bar and seeing the men which the lady had described just chilling in-front. With fists clenched, Hiruma marched over to them and looked up at them dead in the eye. They paused their conversation and took one look at him before bursting out in laughter. Big mistake. With a growl, Hirumaβs hand sprang forward and wrapped around the closest manβs arm before yanking it behind the manβs back and slammed him into the closest wall, pinning him there. Turning his head to the side to glance at the other two, he was about to act towards them as well but before he could another shinobi jumped down from the rooftop and was already apprehending them. Slapping cuffs on the man he has pinned, Hiruma turned and thanked the other man for the help. It seemed that this group was already wanted for something else and were already being followed. After turning the thug over to the Jounin, Hiruma grabbed the purse from the table and took it back to the woman who was anxiously waiting at the market. Upon returning her purse she graciously thanked him several times before running home to her husband. With his previous bowl of ramen now cold, the young man fed it to a nearby dog and ordered himself another bowl. While waiting, Hiruma sat there in his chair with his arms crossed deep in thought as the train in his mind recapped the events so far of today. The day had started off great for himself; he got in some training, meet Aomine while getting in some gains after his workout, hell, he even made a new friend. Sadly though, their encounter was cut short as the first attack had struck the village with Gin being the cause of it. His food arrived and it dragged him from his train of thought for a moment. After breaking his chopsticks in half and saying thanks for his food he started to eat while going back to his thoughts. The battle with Gin wasnβt that long. It ended pretty quickly actually. The only thing he was really surprised about was the amount of shinobi that showed up. It was a decent amount to say the least, but could have definitely been bigger. Were so many of Konohaβs shinobi out on missions? If he recalled correctly, Yumi was refraining from sending ninja past the borders of the Fire Country, so why? With a sigh the young man took a sip of warm sake and then went back to eating his meal. After they dealt with Gin, it wasnβt long before that woman showed up and started to destroy everything and put what he wished to protect at risk and that didnβt settle well with him in the least. That woman.. She was so insanely power. How was that possible at all? Even with a Tailed Beast, such power seemed to get dwarfed by what that woman possessed. And that man who came to save them as well.. He said something about another one of them. So there were at-least three that powerful? How could they hide so long.. Hiruma was starting to get frustrated at the thought of how easily they could of been wiped out today if not for that man saving them. He felt so weak.. so useless. The young Kaguya would offer a smile towards his new companion for the moment and gave a gentle nod to signal he approved of the request for a conversation. Turning to the stand owner to his left Hiruma placed a order for another bowl of ramen for Michael and paid it in full. "Care for some sake, Michael-san? Please feel free to help yourself." Once again Hiruma smiled towards the Jounin and awaited to hear what the man had to say.

At the mentioning of him being a good detective the young man let out a little chuckle in response. As Michael continued to speak Hiruma simply nodded in agreement. "Well first off, thank you. As far as what do I think is happening to our villagers, I don't quite know. I haven't found anything solid yet to give us a clue. But whatever is causing the so called possessions is apparently making the general populace think it's okay to break the law." The mere thought of it made Hiruma shake his head as he sighed in depression. "You want my help? Well, I don't mind I guess. I was already working on it before you even asked aha. After I finish up here I will continue my search for clues, you don't have to worry about that. If I get a lead then I will come and get you. Sound good?" Hiruma offered the man a genuine friendly smile.

Shivering Tsuki stood stone-still amidst the pushing and shoving crowd of shinobis around the mission board. Every now and then, her eyes would catch a notice that seemed promising, but by the time she was done making sure she wasnβt in anyoneβs way while reaching out to grab it, someone else would snatch it away from her. The process had repeated itself several times over at this point, and Tsuki was too scared of the towering crowd and even the towering mission board to change her methods.
There was another notice, and this one was actually close to Tsuki. At least, closer to her than the others she wanted. She watched hands and bodies dart around her until finally there was an opening she could dart her hand through without whacking into anyone else's. She was so close to finally getting a mission slip.

At each of her shoulder bones, Uzumaki sealing tattoos etched in white, almost silvery ink extend from her shoulder bones onto her arms, wrapping their skinny shape all the way down to the back of Tsukiβs hands. In the same color is a second pair of wing tattoos that start in the middle of her back, one below the left should bone and the other below the right. These tattoos circle around her waist to the front of her body, where the wing shape that that they design take a steep dip to between the legs. The width of the wings narrow on the way down to the legs and continue to narrow as they spiral down the legs much as the first set of wings spiral down the arms. Once the pair of tattoos reach the knees of the legs they are spiraling down, the seals written into the tattoos are shaped into a ring right below the knees.

He was nothing if not a somewhat angry person to those around him, at least if he didn't like that that is. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of what appeared to be a board covered in slips of paper with details on them explaining a mission of sorts. Deciding that would be the best place to go in order to make some money the pink-haired male strode through the crowd to the board. Seeing a rather short girl with white hair standing in front of the mission board, seemingly shivering and every so and reaching out tentatively towards the board only to have someone else steal the mission from her. Striding forward he shifted his eyes around for moment, glaring at those around him; causing them to look at him for a moment before continuing on past him. Shrugging his shoulders he reached forward and grasped the paper from in front of her. Looking at it for a moment he turned and stared blankly at the girl in front of him before speaking in a bored; apathetic voice. "...Would you be willing to join me with this mission? I need a tour guide..."

As yet another mission notice was snapped away from Tsuki, she had already begun resigning herself to looking for another one. That is, until a voice spoke to her, shocking a confused, "Hue?" out of her. Tsuki didn't even know what the speaker looked like and she was already frightened of him. What she saw as she turned did not help her fear. Standing at least half a foot taller than her was some tough-looking guy with pupil-less eyes. Her eyes moved as they were trained, darting over his entire body for information. Travel-worn clothes, he was well-travelled and didn't look like he had been in one place for long any time recently. Clothes covered most of his body, but the stranger's posture and his lack of fat on his neck and face told Tsuki that he was probably physically better than she was.
She looked up at him with wide, frightened eyes that were apologizing a thousand times over. With lips sealed so tight that they were little more than a thin line, shoulders hunched together, hands clasping each other at her chest; Tsuki looked even smaller than usual.
After a few seconds of awkward silence and staring, Tsuki mustered the courage to nod and say, "Yes. Th-the mission takes place outside of the village."
