He thought he was making it through to her. Her once hard eyes were beginning to soften... They were strikingly lovely when not twisted by some inner anger. He smiled lightly at her as she responded to him. "I'm afraid I am not old enough to call you young or immature." He laughed lightly. He was only 22 and she, he assumed, was 21 there was practically no difference.
However just as soon as he believed progress was being made it all came crashing down. In an instant she became withdrawn once more, this was no simple anger this was a rage caused by something truly horrible.
It was her eyes that made him shudder and cause even his confidence to rattle. They were so angry, anger that he could not properly understand. He did not move his body refused to do so as it prepped for what he assumed would either be a series of punches... Something told him she punched rather hard, or a tongue lashing that may just feel as though she had punched him.
Clenching his jaw he readied for either to come!
"I'm Fey and I haven't heard your name yet"
Silver's eyes widened in slight shock. Taking an involuntary step back a small wisp of electric energy suddenly tore itself from the corner of his eye connecting with the floor creating a scorch mark and a sudden array of popping noises. He took a few deep breathes, he had been so tied up in the conversation he had failed to notice anyone else approaching, unfortunately suprise was not something you ever wanted to do to a lightning mage. Lightning was difficult to control and was fueled powerfully by emotion, much like fire. It was for these reasons he was normally so calm he needed to be or his abilities with electricity became wildly unstable.
But he had not done something like that in well over eight months, this was quite the step back for him, and his pride.
After taking his moment he took in a deep breathe before standing up straight once again. Before addressing the new girl however he wanted to finish his conversation with the passionate eyed girl.
But just as quickly as she had left the grand hall she left their talks. He frowned slightly as she almost spoke an apology, but presupposed their response. With her back turned he took a few steps forward his arm out as if to reach for her... But again, something advised him against it. He lowered it slowly back to his side as he watched her go. 'Nobody should be alone like that.' he thought to himself.
But finally she spoke words that were not filled with remorse and sadness. He smiled again as she spoke her name, Rox.
"My name is Silver, but just remember you'll have to be better than me if that's your goal!" He shouted after her in a playful manner. While this had certainly not been what he had envisioned for their conversation it had indeed been interesting. As a final shout he cupped his hands around his mouth so the sound would be louder. "You know your eyes are beautiful when you smile!" Lowering them he laughed lightly to himself, knowing that he may have just brought the wrath of a dragon down on him.
Finally now he returned his attention to their sudden guest. "I'm sorry about all of that, it wasn't you just bad timing." He said addressing her formally. "Well Fey it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Silver." He said followed with a smile. Though this was somewhat odd for him he had not been use to being snuck up on she was rather impressive in that matter, her magic must have surpassed his own in terms of skill, she had been handing out brochures to some of the students. Her hair was hard to miss in a crowd, so he assumed she was an upper class man.
"Cherish what you could lose, but never forget, the world continues to move and so to must we."
"I will, always and forever."

THE WHOLE CEREMONY WAS A BLUR FOR XIO FANG. HE PAYED NO HEED TO ANY OF THE SPEECHES BECAUSE HE KNEW IT WOULDN'T BE ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANY OF THE OTHER OPENING CEREMONIES HE HAD ATTENDED BEFORE THIS. HE HAD BEEN IN HIS POSITION FOR ALMOST A DECADE NOW SO NOTHING IN THIS OCCASION CAME AS A SURPRISE TO HIM INCLUDING THE SOMBER WARNING THE HEADMISTRESS GAVE. HE MERELY NODDED HIS HEAD IN APPROVAL TO WHAT SHE HAD SAID AS A SIGN OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND CLAPPED AT THE APPROPRIATE TIMES. HE WAS MUCH MORE INTERESTED AT THE FRESH BATCH THAT WAS ADMITTED THAT YEAR. HE COULD SEE AN ASSORTMENT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE COMING FROM DIFFERENT ETHNICITY BACKGROUND. ONE PARTICULAR STUDENT PIQUED HIS INTEREST. THE GIRL WAS CONVERSING WITH TWO OF THE OTHER LECTURERS BEFORE THE START OF THE EVENT. I WONDER WHY? HER CLOTHES ALSO DIDN'T MISSED HIS ATTENTION. WHEN IT WAS TURN FOR ACROS TO GIVE HIS SPEECH, ONE OF THE FRESHIES STOOD UP AND RUSHED OUT IN A VERY DISGRACEFUL AND RUDE MANNER. SHE WAS FOLLOWED SUIT BY ONE OF THE RETURNING STUDENTS, A SILVER FROM SECOND YEAR. XIO PRIDED HIMSELF FOR HIS PHOTOGENIC MIND. HE GAVE HIS SPEECH LAST BUT AT THIS POINT HE KNEW THAT THE STUDENTS WERE ONLY HALF PAYING ATTENTION BECAUSE HE COULD ALREADY SEE THEIR BORED EXPRESSIONS SO HE MADE IT SHORT AND TO THE POINT. WHEN THE EVENT FINALLY ENDED, HE LOOKED FOR ACROS, DETERMINED TO QUESTION HIM ABOUT THE STUDENT HE WAS CONVERSING EARLIER. AKIRA WAS HIS FIRST CHOICE BUT HE SEEMED TO BE ON SOME SORT OF SERIOUS DISCUSSION WITH THE HEADMISTRESS SO HE DISREGARDED THAT THOUGHT."WAIT ACROS, I'D LIKE TO HAVE A QUICK WORD WITH YOU,"HE CALLED OUT WHEN HE SPOTTED THE COFFEE LOVING TEACHER AT THE DISTANCE, TALKING AMONG THE OTHER LECTURERS.

"Sometimes you've got to step back from your work every once in a while..."
Once the final professor gave his speech and the headmaster released the students, Akira stood and stretched out his limbs. It wasn't exactly easy to sit still for the cameras for the ceremony like everyone thought. It was that public image thing going on. Before he could step off the stage, he was approached by Roi who reminded him to find her at the catacomb entrance before she walked away. "My sculptures have more emotion than you..." he mumbled to himself. He was always puzzled how she kept her face devoid of emotion, but maybe that was due to those hundred or so years she had. When he started the school, everyone was wondering how she looked so young, and didn't age at all as the years progressed. He took the time he had to gaze around the field, guessing who was going to be one of his students and who wasn't before he would join her.
"Or you could end up forgetting what you were aiming for."

Mera M. Avudor ***
After the concluding remarks from Roi, the entrance ceremony was over. Mera got up and headed towards the exit along with everyone else. Hmm... I should go check into the dorms first. Since he sat towards the back area, he was one of front people.
From the hallway, Mera heard someone shout.
"My name is Silver, but just remember you'll have to be better than me if that's your goal!"
"You know your eyes are beautiful when you smile!"
Mera saw a student yelling at an empty hallway with the female upperclassman who Mera received a pamphlet earlier. They started to introduce themselves to each other. As Mera walked closer, he fumbled with his bag trying to find his map. Unbeknownst to him, it had fell out earlier and was lost under the walking feet of the other students who were also leaving when he quickly left the entrance ceremony with his bag unzipped. Realizing it wasn’t in his bag anymore, he shoved whatever that was sticking out and zipped his bag and decided to ask the loud student standing with the upperclassman, since they most likely know the school grounds better than him.
"Umm… Excuse me. Do you guys know where the housing district is? My name is Mera by the way."
Fey hadn’t meant to startle anyone... Eye’s wide and her smile replaced with a small pouty ‘oh’ of surprise, she jumped a bit at the girl’s shriek, then hopped sideways from Silvers accidental spark. She forgot how sneaky people considered her. She had an odd ability to blend in with any kind of plant despite her bright distinct features such as her hair... It didn’t help she considered, that the plant she just so happened to pop out of was above both of there heads.
Fey blushed in embarrassment but then quite suddenly stood up strait with indignation as the first year had the audacity to call her rude! If anyone was lacking manors it was this agitated overly dramatic first year running out in the middle of opening ceremony's then chastening those who were willing to over look such behavior and go after her because they had the nerve to have compassion! “Well!” Putting her pointer finger up in protest; she was just about to politely point out that she had come out as soon as she had gotten there (as an appropriate pause presented itself) as to avoid such an inappropriate action as she had been accused of committing; when the first year cut her off with a heated “Enough!”
Fey was about to completely give up the notion of having any connection with this girl as well as any concern or interest of human compassion, when she felt a pang of pain in the girl. Fey had the ability to feel what living creatures did, not so much as would cause her inconvenience as it did before she learned to control it, but enough to be considered empathy. Clearly she was suffering from some minor irritation that was putting her on edge, still all of this inconsiderateness was quite uncalled for in Fey’s mind. Still, as the girl turned back to give her name and proclaiming her intentions with passion, Fey felt she may indeed need to put this first meeting aside in her own mind and try to give the pup another chance to redeem her character on a more promising day.... That said first impressions being what they are she was very disappointed in this new crop of students. If this was truly the character of Rox, and she had such hatred and contempt as Fey at times felt wafting off of her very being, the girl was off to a ruff start and without any change would start down a dark and dangerous path she feared. “I'm sure we will meet each other again," Fey watched her go thoughtfully saying softly under her breath “surely we will”
Fey felt Silvers sadness as Rox’s overwhelming emotions left there aria his rang out clearly behind, but it was covered well as he called after her playfully, she might even think flirtatiously, Fey only hoped the girl Rox would take it that way. Something about her made Fey feel a bit uneasy... Perhaps it was only in that moment, but something just felt off. Turning her attention to Silver she smiled again, letting herself forget the rude encounter and shrugging off the unease it gave her.
Fey laughed good naturally at Silver as he introduced himself “Oh I know, your a second year right?” cocking her head coyly she winked, “I’m good with the faces and I seem to recall you doing something rather amusing in Professor Xio’s first class last year. In fact if I recall correctly it wasn’t actually your class... You just happened to accidentaly stumble in on it thinking it was one of your own.” chuckling she smiled up at him, reaching up an elegant arm a vine spiraled down from the ceiling and curled tenderly into her hand then along her arm "You wouldn’t have been the first to get the wrong class on the first day, and you wont be the last”
The students had already begun to filter out of the field and down there hall as well as others after the ceremony had ended, when a young man, presumably a first year by his slightly confused appearance stopped next to them to ask directions. “Do you guys know where the housing district is?” Turning her attention to the new comer Fey pet her vine which retreated to braid itself back up against the ceiling with it’s brothers. “Sure do” she said smiling, then handing him one of the left over pamphlets with a map of the building in it. “This should help, but I’ll lead you there myself if you’d like. It can be confusing if your first year” she said winking at Silver, “This is Silver” she said gesturing to him, “He was new last year, and I’m Fey” smiling back at Mera “this will be my last year as a student if I don’t completely fail” she laughed

Arcos Magna "The Illusion Silhouette"
"But you don't understand! They're just young they merely need time to flourish!"
"Only the strong will survive in this world."
Finally what would be the ceremony that would change so many lives finally came to a conclusion. As Roi announced the ending of the ceremony and released the students back into the campus he made note of her and Akira walking away. Standing up he decided that now was a good time to catch up with some of the other faculty at the school. Grabbing his mug he calmly sipped coffee as he engaged in polite small talk. He chuckled slightly at the antics of some of the newer faculty and the looks of annoyance from the older generation. Even the student body president seemed to be in need of a little humor.
"Come now Mr. President crack a smile, you are to lead these young minds try to be more approachable." He was joking of course, the president was a wonderful man that certainly understood the finer points of charisma, just not direct speech.
He took another sip of his coffee as the sound of his name tore him from his conversation.
"Hm?"
He turned around smiling at the presence. "Xio Fang! I was hoping to speak to you." He took another sip of his now seemingly bottomless coffee before continuing. "What can I help you with?"
Xio Fang was his senior in respect to teaching, the air attuned faculty head was always carrying a stern look on his face, but after a bit of looking you could see that he was quite the conversationalist underneath the gruff militaristic appearance. It was his look that also gave way to his skill as a mage Xio was not someone Arcos ever wanted to see angry.
They had also made note of similar origins, both were abandoned at various spots when they were babies and were taken in by the kindness of others. Though that is where their paths diverge Xio Fang is one of the few people who he could share his past with.
"Or have you forgotten that lesson?"
"...But kindness is a quality only the strong can afford to have. Please... Just a little more time."

Silver Argentum "The Winged Mage"
"Death ends a life, not a relationship Silver..."
"But... But it still hurts so much!"
Silver raised an eyebrow as she seemed to have some recollection of who he was, that was odd aside from silver hair he did not stand out much in a crowd. It wasn't until she mentioned the incident in Xio's class that his shoulders drooped a little as his face began to grow red with embarrassment at the memory of the event.
It was the first day of class and he was attempting to find Akira's first period earth class... It wasn't until ten minutes through Xio's class that he realized his mistake and quickly made an abrupt... and loud exit as he tripped over a seat making a spectacle of himself.
Back in the present he covered his face with one of his hands shaking his head lightly. "...I thought I had shaken off that memory... Guess not." He said laughing at himself. "Well it's in the past." The blush soon left his face and he regained his composure just in time for a first year student to arrive
"Do you guys know where the housing district is?"
He turned seeing the confused face of a new student, a face he himself was all to familiar with for he wore it almost every day his first year.
Fey being the polite person she was gave him proper instructions before introducing the two of them. "Hello." He said to the new student smiling at him for reassurance. He turned to look at Fey, her understanding of Earth magic was astonishing her ability to blend and vanish into the flora was a striking skill. It would seem their crafts truly were uniquely divers. Akira was a manipulator of the organic earth creating figures, she was a master of the flora bending plants to her will, he was a master of metalwork dominating over the metallic world.
He wondered what affiliation Rox fell under he had not seen her powers in action but he assumed they were just as unique.
"Cherish what you could lose, but never forget, the world continues to move and so to must we."
"I will, always and forever."

~Akira Spade~ ╔═════════════════════════════════════╗ Where at: Field With: Students, Headmaster Roi Thoughts: What's so important? ╚═════════════════════════════════════╝ ((OOC: filler ))
"Sometimes you've got to step back from your work every once in a while..."
After a couple minutes looking at the students, Akira decided to rejoin Roi. He stepped down, avoiding some of the returning students eager to enter his art or earth classes. Every teacher had their collection of fan students, which made sense since they would teach some large groups from elementary through high school, It took a village to raise a child, and the Mage Academy was the oddest village there was. Approaching Roi, she looked lost in thought so he tapped her on the head to get her attention. "Hey, don't get lost in the clouds when you were the one who invited me out here." he teased.
"Or you could end up forgetting what you were aiming for."
"To keep balance, one must place rules to ensure order."
✥-━┈┈━-✥ 〖Roi was indeed out of her mind for a bit. She was thinking hard. She clenched the book tightly to her chest as she waited. Then the tap broke her trance as she looked up. The slightest hint of embarrassment in her cheeks showed. "R-right. Let's head down then." She looked to her left then right as she unlocked the door with a key and guided Akira with her, locking it behind. The way was lit with a variety of torches. The catacombs were a labyrinth of man made tunnels wide and tall enough for a small group to venture through. Smooth stone on the walls with patterns of diamonds. A few steps here and there until they reached a large room underground. Illuminated with torches around the pillars. It looked like a gathering hall for a plethora of people from the size alone. The ceiling was like that of a two story home! The faint sound of a song being sung could be heard.
They continued to walk until they reached a pair of large doors with a plethora of rune like markings on the surface. "Here we are." she handed Akira the torch to hold as her hands emitted a faint silver glow. The seals removing themselves to expose a second door. Opening that one revealed the third door and behind that laid the prize. The woman was suspended in mid air, The singing stopped. The woman had hair whiter than the clouds of heaven and the eyes darker than the soul of the devil. Bound by five different type of elemental looking chains, aimed for her ankles, waist, wrists and even her neck she hovered there. Her eyes fixated on the two as her smile creepily showed. "Do not be shocked, she cannot harm any of us while she is bound up. This is the reason why no one is allowed in the catacombs, Sir Spade...Because Xyla resides here." Roi announced, walking towards the woman with a cold look.
"My my...If it isn't my little b*****d child, Roi. How has fifty years of playing house working for you?" The woman spoke in such a nasty tone. Every word she spouted sounded like pure spite. Roi ignored her for the time and looked to Akira "I require your attunement of Earth to help me reinforced the Earthend Chain." she pointed to the dull looking brown chain to the corner. The woman spoke once more. "Oh? Who is this handsome man beside you? He sort of reminds me of your father- only this one has an affiliation with an element." yet again, Roi did not speak to the woman.
"Sir Spade. I need you to hold your hands out and try to channel into the chains. I will be here to help amplify your power for the time." Roi showed him the chain and positioned him right up to it. She then got behind and sadly, could not reach his hands. Roi hopped up as well but then settled on levitating to gain the right height. Her palms rest on the back of his hands. "You may feel a slight burning sensation on your hands for the time, but it will not do any damage." Roi focused her attention as the back of her hands created two rune like symbols. When Akira started the channeling process, those symbols would temporarily brand him in the process like a hot iron.
The woman on the other hand sighed. "How rude of you to ignore your own mother, Roizana. We never get to talk at all." taking a second glance at Akira and smirking. "You must be still sore at me for decapitating your father. He had it coming...being an impure one." Xyla attempted to push her buttons.

Mera stared in awe at vine that retreated back to the ceiling after the upperclassman pat it. He felt a slight envious feeling build up in him, especially since her ability was the manipulation of plants. To Mera, his flame power could only cause destruction, opposite of her plant creation. There wasn’t anything he thought was positive about it really.
She handed him another pamphlet.
"This should help, but I’ll lead you there myself if you’d like. It can be confusing if your first year."
Mera took the pamphlet from her. "Thank you. I’d really appreciate if you would take me to the dorms.” he replied. She introduced the other student, who was a second year named Silver and herself as a fourth year named Fey. Mera replied to Silver’s hello with a small smile and studied him for a moment. I wonder what his attunement is. Is he also as good at handling his powers as Fey is? Can people tell what attunements people have from observing?...
Deep in his thoughts as more questions formed, Mera zoned out a bit, not realizing that it appeared that he was glaring at Silver intensely.

Xio Fang wondered what Acros had wanted to talk to him about but brushed that though aside. There was a must more pressing matter he wanted to discuss that involved a particular girl."Yes well, I'd like to talk to you about matters regarding that girl who you talked to earlier," he replied with a look of disapproval. He moved on and inquired about her and the reason why she was not wearing the uniform assigned by the academy. He was well aware that the principle had already removed the rule regarding wearing formal attire but he was adamant about the first years wearing said uniform especially for the opening ceremony. Thus, he was particular not pleased by her action. He had once debated about changing the rule but he was outvoted by the other professors so he had no say for that matter. Order was something he took in high regards above all else. "I know I don't have the power to expel any students from this academy but if she does not wear the proper uniform during my class, I will not accept her in," Xio said with conviction. He never make exceptions even for the returning students when it comes to attire and they all had caught up earlier on that if they want to be admitted to his class, they would have to endure wearing the uniform. The girl had made him feel restless and so did that other student who stormed out earlier. This year batch is not as promising as I had previously thought, Xio grumbled in his mind. He decided that he would have a word with the headmistress regarding this particular matter later in the evening. If anyone knows about my strict order of things, she would.

Arcos Magna "The Illusion Silhouette"
"But you don't understand! They're just young they merely need time to flourish!"
"Only the strong will survive in this world."
His lips connected with the cup for the nearly thousandth time as he listened patiently to Xio Fang. He raised an eyebrow a bit confused on the purpose of his uneasy feelings. This was about a uniform? He understood Xio Fang had a militaristic attitude and as such rank and dress were high priorities but he had never actually heard of him saying anything about the matter.
He smiled soon after as the tension in their conversation began to wane. He laughed lightly, not at Xio Fang but at the situation as a whole. This girl, this Aria had garnered more attention than she was probably aware of.
"Her name is Aria Peach, she is a promising student with an aura that I can't quite put my finger on." He smiled again at Xio before taking another sip of his coffee. "Don't worry I will have a talk with her and see to it that she obtains the proper education attire. After all what are we if not caregivers?" Arcos had a reputation for being to easy on the students, not in the class room but outside. He was supportive and encouraging a good listener and always there to offer a smile and encouragement. So far he had only lost his temper once, and the result was frost that killed off the plants in the academy and froze over part of the harbor.
"Xio you are my senior and I have much to learn before I reach your understanding of both magic and teaching. But try to see the world from their eyes. You and I found order in our magic from chaotic pasts. Some are still attempting to find that order. Our job is only to show them the path and let them walk it themselves."
He smiled again waving hello to the students who walked past them. Many of his water students were smiling happy to see him again, the air students performing similar, if more formal, gestures to Xio Fang as they walked past. "But back to my original point. Do not fret I will see to is she understands the rules of the academy."
"Or have you forgotten that lesson?"
"...But kindness is a quality only the strong can afford to have. Please... Just a little more time."
"Sometimes you've got to step back from your work every once in a while..."
Xyla. He didn't read much into her during his lessons, but remembered she was considered a threat to the world when she was free. Akira didn't really speak out, figuring she was locked away without anyone else nearby for a reason. He wasn't fully aware of what exactly this prison required, but he knew how to channel his attunement as he had done so with his sculptures sometimes. He took up his position like Roi instructed and readied himself, while she tried to reach his hands. He couldn't help but hold back his laugh as she had to lift herself to reach them before they began. Sure enough, after starting the channel there was a burning sensation on his hands. It was too intense for him to pay attention to Xyla's comments toward Roi.
"Or you could end up forgetting what you were aiming for."

"Rules were made to be broken."
"To keep balance, one must place rules to ensure order."
✥-━┈┈━-✥ 〖The process would take some time. the chain's faint glow started to intensify like the rest. Xyla, being unamused by their actions, taunted more. "Go ahead. Keep refreshing the chains all you like. Sooner or later you will run out and I will break free from my bindings." yet even then the ritual would finish and Roi descended on the floor, taking a breath of air. "There. That should sustain the chain for another few years." Roi looked back to Xyla as her stone like face finally looked to her. "In any case, I will be back in another few years, mother." Roi finally admitted before her attention was on Akira. Giving him the go to head off...
"Why not stay with me for a while..." Xyla in the time of the chain becoming weak, managed to create a chain that latched around Roi's neck. Attempting to suffocate her. Suppressing her spells and causing her to try and pull it off. "Tell your friend to release me or I will snap your neck here and now! It's been Fifty long years, and I will NOT let my chance to escape go to waste!" Xyla threatened her as Roi did not even motion for Akira. While the chain looked fairly strong, it was clear this was made on the spot to attempt and bargain. It wasn't that strong to begin with. Yet judging from how Roi struggled, it was meant to suppress someone's ability.
Roi gasped some air and finally looked to Akira. "...T-this is...normal...break it." before the chain pulled tighter. Normal? This seemed hardly out of the norm for a relationship between a mother and daughter. 〗 ✥-━┈┈━-✥

He knew he was acting much more aggressive than his usual self but something about today had been making him feel uneasy especially after he had that dream earlier that night. It didn't made sense to him nor could he remember what it was but it had a sense of forebonding to it. He knew better than to ignore such ominous signs especially since the last time he did it came with a great cost. More than half of a village was killed by some water mage group as a show of their powers. He had consulted with his fellow monks a few weeks after that incident and they had pointed out to him that it was indeed a premonition. Apparently, they were gifted with the sense of predicting the future. He knew something bad was going to happen, if not today then probably tomorrow. What frustrated him was that he just don't know what it was. He shook his head to clear of his mind. It does no one any good to dwell on what one cannot control. He waited patiently as he listened to Acros council. When he was sure he was done and he knew it was his turn to reply, he spoke. "Yes we are caregivers Acros but that does not mean we should act like mindless beast. That's a harsh way of comparing it but it's the truth. The rules are there for a reason. Without it, mages will turn rampant just like those mages our headmistress mentioned earlier. It may be something as small as a piece of clothing but something small can turn into a huge disaster if not properly corrected," he said to his fellow professor, emphasizing the part about the headmistress speech. He knew that Acros would be true to his words so he thanked him for taking his time to explain the rules to the girl who he now knows is called Aria Peach. If anyone could be trusted to get the job done, it would definitely be Acros, Xio thought to himself. He has a great respect for this water mage because he knows that despite Acros easy going nature, he actually take pride of his teaching and is serious when it comes to it. "Well, case closed then. I had half a mind to discuss this with the headmistress later in the evening but you've persuaded me to change my mind. So, shall we head off to the field and meet the others," Xio nodded towards the exit of the hall as he said this. He caught some more of his students nodding their heads respectfully to him to which he nodded back in kind.
