Lightning nodded at Jonah's suggestion. That made her feel more comfortable about sleeping this house. Exhaustion was starting to get to her and her eyes were beginning to be half lidded. She let out a small yawn and rubbed her eyes despite wearing makeup.

She took the picture back from Jonah and replaced it on the small side table wear it originally was. As she replaced the picture, a very loud scream filled her ears with soft sobbing following it. Lightning gasped from fear and held onto Jonah's arm from shock. Her eyes squeezed shut as if it was all just a nightmare and it would go away once she opened them. But that was a highly unrealistic hope, so upon opening her eyes she was still there, holding tightly onto Jonah. "I just want to go to bed..." Lightning sighed.

She ignored the woman, no energy to go investigate. Lightning then begun to start making the area in which they were going to sleep. She laid out the sleeping bag and the blanket into a very terrible looking bed but it would have to do. She sat down on the floor with her back against the wall and hugged her knees, face buried in them. She felt anxious and afraid and she really didn't like it. This feeling has never washed over her before and she wanted to keep pushing the thoughts of ghosts being real out of her head. She wanted to believe that their friends were just scaring them and in the morning they would all go home and tell this as a funny story.

Lightning sat there hugging her knees, leaving the two in complete silence. She was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. But something was keeping her from being able to. It was the position, it wasn't the house; the ghosts. They made her think too much. Thoughts were raging through her mind and forcing her to question her own sanity. She never thought she'd be this easy to crack. She seemed intimidating and strong to others but in reality, she was just like a child.

Jonah was almost comforted by the fact that Lightning had heard the scream as well. It meant he wasn't going crazy. He let her hold onto his arm until she decided to hurriedly put the bed together. Then he watched as she sat, back to the wall, head on her knees, hugging them tightly. He couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking about, but she seemed upset.

Jonah moved over to the makeshift bed and sat down next to Lightning. He put his arm around her shoulder, not sure if it would be comforting or not. "Hey..." He began hesitantly, searching for words. "It's gonna be okay. We'll get out of here in the morning, alright? Even if we have to walk all the way into town." Jonah promised. He was starting to feel slightly protective, seeing her looking so helpless. He could help but think that she was a lot more childlike than he had original pegged her to be.

The sobbing from upstairs had stopped, and Jonah couldn't decide if that worried him or not. On the one hand, it had been pretty unnerving. On the other, at least he had known the ghost was far away from them. Who knew where she was now. Or the twins. Or any of them. And that third girl... Jonah didn't know why, but he almost dreaded seeing her. He just had a feeling that her appearance would not bring anything good...

He shook his head slightly. He needed to listen to himself. They would get out in the morning, walk, if their friends still weren't around... As he thought he wondered if maybe either of them would be able to figure out how to start the car without the key. Jonah doubted that though, that would be far too lucky. He was starting to agree with Lightning, they needed to just go to sleep and figure this out in the morning. He still wanted to see the cemetery, though. Maybe if they paid their respects it would calm the ghosts down a little bit.... Or at least enough for them to get out of here without too much more torment.

Lightning swiftly looked up when she felt Jonah's arm around her. She looked him straight in the eye as he spoke, trying to cheer her up. "I hope you're right..." the female mumbled, trailing off. She let out a small sigh before apologizing, "Sorry you have to see me like this. It's pretty pathetic, huh?" a sad smile created itself on Lightning's face as her attention turned to look straight out a window at the dark but starry night.

If they were going to be able to leave, and in the morning their friend's cars were here, what happened to them? Would she have to tell Emily's mom that her daughter went missing and all that's left of her was her car? Lightning didn't even want to imagine having Emily's face plastered all over town reporting her as a missing teen. And the other girls would be missing as well. That would be a lot of missing teenagers.

Lightning noticed the sobbing from the woman earlier had disappeared. But where did she go? Maybe she moved even further away from them and deeper into the house. Who was the third girl? Lightning wasn't sure what to do if they encountered her. She seemed like she would be the most dangerous out of all the family ghosts. Something about her was off. She wasn't smiling in her picture and the fact that she was wearing more gothic looking clothes proved that she was different from the rest of her family. Had she done something that caused the family to haunt this place? Maybe it was homicide and this girl committed it! And the fact she looks like Lightning maybe makes the family want to take revenge on her for what the girl did. But at the moment, without any proper research, Lightning could only think of the many, many possibilities to this situation.

She looked over at Jonah and stared at him for a bit. He had a very defined jawline and his skin was more tan compared to her almost white doll like skin. His hair was short and he was pretty built. He was pretty handsome, she'd admit that. He must be pretty popular at school. Lightning realized she was staring and turned her attention back to looking outside at the night sky, her face tinting pink once more.

OOC: I think that this is when they should start to learn more about each other and such :3

Jonah shook his head. "I don't think you're pathetic at all. In fact, you've held up far better in a situation like this than most of the girls I know would... And quite frankly, I'm glad to be stuck here with you instead of one of them." He admitted with a chuckle, thinking about how he would probably have just let the ghosts take him already if he had been. He thought again about how his friends always wanted to invite those girls to everything, just for a shot at getting laid at the end of the night, and said a silent thanks to anyone there to listen that Terry had not invited any of them on this trip. Although if he had, the group might have been harder to lose...

Out of the corner of his eye he caught Lightning looking at him and pretended not to notice until she turned her head away. Jonah found it slightly amusing, but he couldn't help but look back, and notice how fair her skin was compared to his and the way her bangs fell on her forehead. He had to admit to himself it was kind of cute.

He also noticed that she hadn't made any move to remove his arm from around her, which he assumed meant that she didn't have too big of a problem with it. Really he was hoping it was making her feel a little bit better. Jonah wasn't great in the comfort department, but at least he tried, right?

"So... How long do you think we've gone to the same school and never said a word to each other?" He ventured, trying to lighten the mood a little bit with a more comical ice breaker. He guessed it was probably a while, considering he knew that her friend Emily had been at the same school almost his entire life. He assumed that Lightning must have always been around as well.

Lightning glanced at Jonah as he started to stare at her and her face turned a darker shade of pink. Was he thinking the same things as her and admiring her face? Or was he staring at her cause he thought her staring at him was weird? Ugh. Lightning side and just kept her gaze towards the window.

Lightning had realized that his arm was still wrapped around her shoulders and she fidgeted a bit. She had forgotten that it was there. It was comforting to have it there. It definitely made her relax a bit more. Subconsciously, Lightning snuggled a bit closer to him. He was warm and smelled like Old Spice. Her dad used the same brand but he also had the smell of tobacco on him.

Although her gaze was kept on the sky, Lightning replied to Jonah's question, "I don't know for sure, but probably for a long time since you know sort of know Emily...I've known her since eighth grade. And then we both planned to go to our high school together so, we've been in the same schools for awhile." She doesn't blame him for not noticing her, she usually was just a side piece to Emily anyways. And she didn't pay attention to him cause she barely pays attention to anybody in school. "I remember seeing you a few times, probably with your friend Terry, but I usually forgot about you." Lightning snickered a bit.

It made Jonah feel a little bit less awkward about trying to comfort Lightning when she snuggled closer to him. She felt cold. He pulled the blanket up over her knees for her. Maybe he would be able to help her fall asleep more comfortably so that she wouldn't think so much about the crazy ghosts wandering around, watching her while she slept.

Jonah gave her a look like the fact that he was forgotten about really hurt, but it was very fake and over-dramatic. Then he said, "Yeah, Terry and I have been friends forever. We used to live across the street from each other, growing up. Then he moved, but he still stayed in the area. Now he's only a couple of blocks away." Or God knows where... Jonah couldn't help but add in his head, still wracking his brain for where they could have gone.

Part of him was convinced that some Scooby-Doo action had gone down and everyone had fallen into some trap door in the floor without the two of them. They had probably all gone down a big stone slide into somebody's ancient cellar where the family fortune was being kept, and the masked ghost bad guys were chasing them around as well, trying to scare them all away from the gold and jewels. The thought of walking up to one of the creepy twins and pulling at her hair to find that a mask was what came off was almost enough to make the situation less scary. And then the "ghost" family would all shake their fists and say, And we would have gotten away with it, too! If it weren't for you meddling kids!

"So. Lightning Woods." Jonah began, sounding like he was about to play game show host. His goal now was to keep her distracted and hope that the giggling girls and the banshee lady didn't make another appearance before she fell asleep. "Tell me about yourself. I, personally, like romantic candle lit dinners, watching romantic comedies, and long walks on the beach at sunset." Jonah said with a big cheesy grin, quoting cliche' online dating profiles.

Lightning nodded her head as Jonah explained his friendship with Terry. "Emily isn't far from me, but we never lived across from each other. We ended up becoming friends in middle school after she accidentally spilled her lunch on me." the girl told her story of her best friend. "It was pretty funny. She was freaking out and I didn't say anything. Everyone thought I was mute. So she dragged me to the bathroom and started cleaning me off as if she were my mother." Lightning chuckled lightly at the memory.

Lightning let out a soft laugh when Jonah quoted cheesy romance films. She let out a silent yawn before saying, "Well, I like watching horror movies, sleeping and reading novels. I'm a leo and my favorite color is blue." Lightning smiled at Jonah as she gave him a very general synopsis of herself. She wasn't good at telling people about herself unless they asked specific questions.

"So, what do you actually like?" Lightning asked him as she let her eyes drift close, snuggled up against the boy. He was extremely warm compared to her. People thought she was cold blooded since she's always a freezing temperature. She felt better than she did before and her mood started to lighten up. If Emily saw Lightning like this, she'd cry like if she were her mother and Lightning was getting married. She missed Emily terribly, but she wasn't going to give up on finding her and getting out of this place.

Jonah couldn't help but laugh at the description Lightning gave him of how she and Emily became best friends. "That's pretty great. Terry and I don't have that exciting of a meeting story. Really we just always played outside and then started playing together after a while. I think he like... Kicked a ball into my yard? Or something..?" Jonah said, scratching his head in thought with his free hand. He was so young when they met that he really didn't remember why they had first spoken to each other. But that seemed accurate to him.

"I bet you're more fun to watch horror movies with than the girls Terry always sticks with me..." Jonah said with an eye roll when Lightning began telling him some basic things about herself. Then he added enthusiastically, "I might actually get to find out what the plot is before the screaming starts!" He thought for a moment about inviting her to one of the many "scary movie nights" Terry was sure to have between now and the end of October, thinking it might be worth it just to show her the suffering he had to go through every year, but then he deciding they'd better work on getting out of here first. As much as he tried to ignore the nagging in the back of his head, for all he knew, he would never see Terry again. But Jonah refused to let himself consciously acknowledge that.

Then Lightning turned the question back on him. He thought for a moment, settling in a little bit more as he looked for some similar generalizations about himself in his head. Jonah noticed her letting her eyes start to close and felt a surge of satisfaction with himself for being able to calm her down, relatively. "Well, let's see... I mean, I like sports... Baseball and football, in particular. And I snowboard in the winter..." It suddenly occurred to Jonah that Terry was usually the one to tell girls about him. He'd never really had to explain himself before. "I actually like school, and I get better grades than all my super-jock friends... I really hate cheerleaders, but when you hang out with football players all the time they're kind of around... all the time..." He said this with a groan, as though they were irritating younger siblings getting in the way of his social life. "And my favorite color is green!" He added last minute, since she had told him her favorite color.

"I don't suppose you do anything weird, like... sleepwalk? Or something?" Jonah also decided to ask, seeing as they would be sleeping here together, and he didn't really want to get caught off guard by some strange habit in the middle of the night in this creepy house.

Lightning let out a small laugh before saying, "I'm better in every way than the girls your friend sticks you with." it sounded arrogant, but it was probably true. She yawned a bit and cuddled even closer to Jonah. She really did start falling asleep at this point. The peaceful talking and the nice silent night started to make her sleepy.

"Green reminds me of plants..." Lightning mumbled under her breath. her eyes finally drifted shut but she was trying her best to keep the conversation going. "I like you, Jonah. You're different from the other guys. I'm glad I got stuck here with you." Despite the cliche liking of baseball and football, he wasn't stupid and he was quite fun to be around. The night was a lot better than she expected it be. Whenever Emily tried to set her up with a guy, he always disrespected her personal space and he was loud and obnoxious. He had no interests in anything other than picking up girls. It was disgusting how many guys had that same mind set, so it was nice to finally meet someone that wasn't like that.

When Jonah has asked her if she did anything weird while she slept, her head shook slightly. "No...I just cuddle things..." Lightning muttered as she started to truly fall asleep. She could no longer keep herself up and her words started to slur as she spoke. It was time to go to bed. "Goodnight..." the girl whispered as she dozed off into dream land.

Jonah laughed out loud at that. "You're probably right. They're all pretty annoying. And they all seem to get abnormally upset when I send them home instead of invite them to stay for the night..." He mumbled, rolling his eyes. He wasn't that kind of a guy.

He also found himself chuckling at Lightning's sleepy talk. "Well I guess if I end up squeezed to death in the middle of the night, I'll know why." He said quietly, not wanting to disturb her on the edge of sleep. He patted her head as she mumbled goodnight and fell asleep snuggled up to him. Jonah pulled the blanket up over her shoulder, as they were both still sitting up against the wall, and took another look around.

The house seemed to have become rather peaceful. And it wasn't pitch black, the moonlight from outside was strong enough to give everything a soft glow. Jonah shifted the tiniest bit against the wall and rested the side of his head on the top of Lightning's, trying to get comfortable enough to fall asleep as well. Finally he began to drift off. As his eyes closed, he could have sworn he saw someone peek around the corner of the living room space at them, but he was too tired to worry about it and, a second later, he was fast asleep as well.

Lightning was able to sleep through the night quite well. Nothing had woken her and she was pretty warm from cuddling Jonah. She was pretty content when she had woken up from a goodnight's rest. From all the commotion the day before she was exhausted by the time they had decided to rest for the night. Her eyes had fluttered open to see some light pouring into the house. It was still quite early, just a bit after sunrise. Lightning had always woken up early despite actually being a night person. She basically lived off of coffee and energy drinks. A small yawn escaped her pink lips as she looked up at Jonah.

The boy was still sound asleep and snuggled up against her as well. Lightning had realized she put her arms around him also and she quickly removed her arms. Her face tinted red. I should have just slept hugging my knees. Lightning mentally scolded herself for not doing that. It was awkward to be cuddling someone she had just met the previous day and she wasn't even supposed to be set up with him. He was just a random kid that she encountered in this house. Ugh, she hated how flustered she could become over the stupidest things. Jonah probably didn't even think much about it. He was probably use to this anyways.

Lightning sat there in silence, Jonah still with his arm around her and his head resting on hers. She couldn't decide whether she should wake him up or just let him sleep. But the sooner she woke him up, the sooner they could find their friends, if they could find their friends, and then get out of here. She sighed quietly, deciding to wake him up. She poked the boy, whispering, "Hey wake up, kid."

Jonah slept pretty well, although as he was pulled from sleep, he could feel a small kink in his neck from how he had been sitting. He heard Lightning's voice, then, and let out a big yawn before opening his eyes. He frowned sleepily at her, like he had no idea where he was, then mumbled, "Who you callin' kid, kid?" Jonah was not much of a morning person and, while Lightning's half-asleep talk had been while falling asleep, Jonah's was definitely while waking up.

It took Jonah a second to remember where he was, too. He looked around, lifting his head off of Lightning's, before remembering all of the events of last night. He remembered the face he had noticed peeking around the corner before his eyes had closed completely."That girl..." He mumbled, yawning again. "I saw a girl." He finished after the yawn, though he was unable to go into more detail than that in his present state of not being very awake yet.

Jonah turned his head to look at Lightning, who had been the one to wake him. "Mornin'." He said with a sleepy, eye scrunching smile. Then he was dozing off again, unable to help himself with his eyes closed again. Even Terry had never quite been able to figure out the art of waking up Jonah Crawford in the mornings. It was a miracle he ever made it to school on time.

Lightning stuck her tongue out at Jonah. She didn't really want to stand up yet. She was too comfortable in the warmth of the blanket and Jonah's arm around her. Even though she didn't want to admit it, she was still pretty tired too. She snuggled up to him again, whispering, "Morning~" A gentle smile graced her features as her eyes became half lidded.

"Saw a girl? Not surprising." Lightning was too tired to deal with the supernatural right now. They'll get to it eventually. Next thing she said was something she was going to regret for a bit..."I like the way you smell..." Lightning mumbled happily, cuddling Jonah. For the moment she didn't really think about it, and in her head it didn't seem weird to say. But as the moments passed by, Lightning realized what she had said and quickly pulled away. "I'm sorry that was a very weird thing to say." Lightning quickly stood to her feet and adjusted herself.

She had her arms crossed and she stared out the window as the sky slowly brightened itself. Her back was towards Jonah, and she tried hard not to let her face tint pink. Her mouth was formed into a tight line as she waited for him to stand up and they can try to find a way home and hopefully find their friends as well.

Jonah actually hadn't thought anything of it, he had taken it as a compliment. Then Lightning apologized and got up, pulling herself out from under him suddenly, when he had been dozing back off. The sideways fall after she moved jolted him awake just in time to catch himself rather than hitting his head on the floor. "Heeyyy..." He whined sleepily. "I was comfortable..."

Then Jonah pushed himself back up, rubbed his eyes, and yawned one final time. "It wasn't that weird." He added, waving his hand like he was trying to wave away her worry. He looked at her, noticing a couple of little flustered mannerisms. He smiled to himself, thinking it was a little bit funny. Then he stood, wobbling a little and brushing the wrinkles out of his shirt. The sky was getting lighter and lighter, and his stomach growled. "Think there's anything edible left in the kitchen?" He asked, trying to be funny more than anything else. He knew there probably wasn't really anything left in there. Mostly because when they had searched it before, he hadn't seen any signs of food.

Then he looked deeper into the house, seeing how well it was lit up. He guessed they could probably start looking around again now, hopefully without running into any more ghouls. In fact, the whole evening before with all of the ghosts and crazy sounds seemed worlds away now. Like none of it had really even happened. They only real proof that it had was that their friends were all still missing. Jonah looked over at Lightning. Her face looked tight. Maybe she was thinking the same thing. He walked over and put his hand on her back comfortingly. "Wanna go keep looking, now?" He asked her.

Lightning jumped a bit when Jonah had touched her back. She looked at him with her large dolly eyes and hesitantly nodded her head. "Oh, yeah, let's go." she turned on her heel to go upstairs, Jonah following behind her. She looked out the window where the cars were parked and almost continued upstairs till she ran back down and stared out the window. "Wait...where are the cars!?" Lightning shouted in surprise. She looked back at Jonah then back outside.

Had their friends left them? Where did the cars go? Lightning let out a loud sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. "How could they have just left us here?" Lightning asked herself more than Jonah. She took a seat on the couch, ignoring how dusty it was, trying to think of what to do. Emily couldn't have just left her here, what kind of best friend does that? Lightning stared at the ground, pondering.

Her head lifted to look at Jonah, hoping he would say something. Should they try and walk and hope they can find a gas station or something? She didn't know how far it would be a walk though. They could walk for miles and not find a thing, plus they haven't had anything to eat or drink. They had to find something to help sustain their energy. Clean water and just some solid food. They could get by on just that.
