"Well, um. Turing, that's what I've called him, is usually in the lab systems, hanging around on my log-ins and helping with data and sequencing and such... So I've either used a microphone or typed to him... He's, um, a lot better than that old 'Clippy' thing... I realised recently that technically he, um, doesn't have a registered trainer and, well, as I've been using him, I requested and app'd that he be logged to my team... So. He's in there right now. Um. I don't really know how he senses anything from in there. When I want to talk to him I've had to plug him into a computer, or, um, my 'dex, so far... He has a pokéball, too, but considering what he is, that's proven inconvenient so far; I've put in a request for a USB ported ball, though, like Faleen has..."
She stopped, realising she really rather had to respond to the other question too.
"Um. Yes. Sorry... Actually, tomorrow includes a, um, spa visit, before we, uh, have our real business in a bar, I think... I'm going to try and cut back; I've noticed my healing was stunted, probably due to stress, but I do think, as... troubling as this 'weird' stuff is, I can try and relax a little more now..."

"Good." Aulus smiled and folded his legs up into a lotus, niggling anxiety giving way to relief. "A spa visit sounds nice, and I'll be keeping an eye on you because I'm a worrier. Expect to be poked if you've forgotten to have some downtime for a couple of days.... Humm." Aulus looked at the USB stick in his hand, looked at his arm, and then looked at Tambery with his eyebrows raising slightly in a questioning manner.

"Thanks." Tambrey replied with a genuine smile and yet another nod. "I'll try to, um, heed the advice, because I'm sure I'll need it... You might have to really make the point if I'm... uh... fixated on something though..."

She smirked at the series of glances, and the eyebrows raising, and snorted out a little bit of laughter before nodding.
"Actually, that, um, breaks the ice into something else I was going to ask about... Given I'll be off base tomorrow, and I don't really want to take Turing to the spa, or have him back in his ball or the system yet... Would you, uh, be willing to babysit him for a day? /Possibly/ inside, uh, your... arm?"

"If necessary I promise to pick you up, carry you off, and force you to relax," Aulus grinned in return. "I'll sit on you if I have to... or get somebody slightly lighter to do so, I don't want to squash you. But yes, I'd be happy to! And if you trust him not to go messing with anything he's welcome to stay in my arm. It would only be the dex bit he could potentially fiddle with, not the main function, so I wouldn't be worried about a 'stop hitting yourself' situation or anything."

"Uh. I'm not sure being sat on would be all that relaxing..." Tambrey pointed out, amused, then smirked again.

"Oh, uh. Yes. If that's okay with you. I'm, um, fairly certain he wouldn't actually mess with anything important but, uh, he's a pokémon and so, just the 'dex bit is probably a good idea, just, um, in case he suddenly decided it was funny to start... making you make rude gestures at people or something..." Turing was, of course, used to a rather closed, specific system; a new 'place' to explore /might/ cause some 'naughtiness' to surface, Tambrey supposed, though she was relatively confident that Turing was better behaved than Franklin recently.

"Okay, fair point," Aulus grinned, "I'll-" he had been about to say 'tie you to your bed' but thankfully his brain pointed out to him that this was a completely inappropriate thing to say and with barely a pause he concluded, "-think of something else then. And I'm sure I can handle - har har - him for a day. If I have an issues I can always put him back on the stick, right?" Tie you to your bed? He was so very glad he hadn't said that. It would have been funny to say to Alex, but not to Tambery. Seriously narrow miss there.

Oblivious to the comment that had -almost- quite effectively come out and embarrassed the pair of them, Tambrey was free to grin at the pun and focus on the question regarding the USB stick, and talk of Turing.

"Oh, yes. Um. I don't entirely know how it works but you can, uh, actually 'drag and drop' him from storage device to storage device... It's, um, very clever," She admitted, but shook her head "but I don't know how it works. It just... works. He's got a little icon that, um, represents 'his being', I suppose..."

"I think it would make my big meat brain hurt if I tried to think about it too much," Aulus said with a self deprecating grin. He knew he wasn't stupid, he just didn't have specialised knowledge... and admittedly that did quite often make him feel stupid but he was trying to pick up bits where he could. He was still going through the genetic sequences Tam had given him for his two fossils.

"Do you want to show me then?" Aulus asked after a moment, holding the USB stick back out to Tambery and sliding aside a shutter near his wrist to reveal a USB port.

"Mine too..." Tambrey offered with an honest shrug; specialised knowledge, she did have... but it wasn't knowledge about how the virtual world worked. She just about grasped the biology, mineral as it was, when Porygon species were outside of their virtual realms... Inside, it was an entirely different world, where biology didn't so much apply...

"Oh, uh. Sure." She leaned forward to plug the USB into Aulus' arm, fumbling slightly as was always the case when trying to plug something in that you hadn't had practice doing.
"There, uh... It's in." She declared and sat back. "It should pop up with a message asking if you want to 'install' the contents. Um. It's not so much 'installing', I think, but I guess they had to call it /something/ other than 'transfer' because... well... Computers." She shrugged.

Aulus chuckled briefly at Tambery's fumble and smiled at her. "I swear USB sticks have at least three unique rotations. Here we go then." Aulus opened up the screen and tapped the 'install' pop up when it appeared a few moments later.

Not a lot would change after the 'install' except that Aulus would be prompted to remove the USB stick, and then a Sprite, representing Turing in all his pixel-formed blue glory would show up at a random corner of Aulus' screen.
A beat later the 'sprite' would acquire a speech bubble.

<< o(*゚∀゚*)o >>

"Mmhmm... Anyway. That's basically it, and then, uh, drag and drop, or 'tap' and click 'send to device' to, um, get him back into the stick again..."

"Aww, hi there Turing," Aulus grinned and pulled up a notepad, into which he typed a '=D'. "Sounds simple enough," he nodded to Tam. "Shall I keep him in here for now then?"

<< o(*゚з゚*)o >> was the reply that Aulus would get back in the speech bubble, before Turing worked himself into the notepad app.

'o(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)oo(*゚з゚*)o' the pokémon tried out, getting his bearings within the new virtual environment.
'Hello World!'

"Um, yes please, if you would? I mean, um, after tomorrow, I plan on getting him out /here/ into the, uh, real world, but for now, if you would, I'm sure he'd enjoy it and would learn quite a lot..."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 26, 2015 11:23 am
"Hehe, sure," Aulus replied, grinning down at the emotes and text being generated by the little Porygon icon. "I think I'll probably enjoy it as much as he does."

As thought Turing had heard the comment (perhaps he had?), his speech bubble erupted with an animated emoticon, raising its 'arms' up and down happily.

<< ヽ(゚ー゚*ヽ)ヽ(*゚ー゚*)ノ(ノ*゚ー゚)ノ >> The sequence repeated three times.

"Oh, good," Tambrey smiled, definitely pleased to hear it- she had hoped Aulus' would react... more or less exactly as he had, and was pleased to be validated at the thought that Turing and he would both enjoy hanging out "um... So. He might 'talk' to you... but, uh. Well, he won't have his own words."
